Pros: Good idea for those who can't or won't wear band-aids. Cons: Stinks, didn't work, possible to spread germs.
I originally purchased the New-Skin Antiseptic Liquid Bandage because of our son. Zacky has Sensory Integration Dysfunction, so he can't tolerate anything on his skin, including band-aids. I thought that the New-Skin Antiseptic Liquid ...
Pros: If you have the patience and the tolerance for pain, can be helpful Cons: it hurts, its messy, difficult to use
For people like myself that are always working in an office setting, paper cuts are something that just comes with the job. Those sharp edges just tend to reach out and grab you sometimes, and if they are bad enough I am pulling out the band-aides to ...
Pros: Easy to use. Cons: Does not work as advertised, Stings pretty badly.
Why I got it. I thought that it would be a good addition to my REI first-aid kit. Instead of a bunch of bandages I could just carry one bottle. And I knew that Liquid Band-Aid worked very well so I was hoping this would do the same. The ...
Pros: Water/dirt-proof (yet "breathes")! Helped heal wintertime finger cuts/nicks for which conventional Band-Aids had been ineffective. Cons: Need to reapply product once every day or two. Not intended for all wounds/body areas.
Prefatory note #1: The above ("Epinions.com") photo evidently shows an "obsolete" (prior) product box. As of early 2008, the product box sports "new-and-improved" artwork (not that mere "carton graphics" make much difference to me; "it's what's ...
Pros: Protects minor wounds on flexible body parts. Cons: Stings like the dickens, smells strongly of cloves.
Here at The Weyr, minor cuts, burns, and abrasions are fairly commonplace. In the spring and summer we have foaling and breeding season coinciding with gardening season – no lack of potential injuries there, take your pick, rope burns, skinned ...
Pros: Inexpensive, not awful for really minor cuts Cons: Strong smell, not very durable
At some point I will accept the fact that I have to actually take care of my feet if I don't want my heels to crack. But evidently I haven't reached that point yet. Because it was inexpensive I decided to try New Skin liquid bandage. Pass ...
Pros: Easy to apply - easy to use, quick healing time, stays on Cons: smell and stings but it's less potent if you blow on the wound after applied.
I was in my local Wal*mart one day looking for bandages and came across the New Skin Antiseptic Liquid Bandage. I decided it was exactly what I needed for hard to bandage areas PLUS it had the antiseptic already in. I paid around $4.99 for my ...
Pros: Beautiful invention, can go anywhere be used so versatility. Cons: For those who are more sensitive I think it might bother the skin too much.
For me, little cuts happen all the time, every day. Im an artist of many mediums. I sew every day, so(ha, ha) I get a lot of little nicks and slices from my shears and rotary cutter, not to mention pricks from needles and pins. Then I work in the ...
Pros: None that I can think of, except that maybe it has some antiseptic qualities. Cons: Calling it liquid bandage is a misnomer. It is thin and watery and doesn't dry.
I got a cut on my finger. It was bleeding badly, so I tried to put some New Skin Liquid Bandage on it. First of all, the liquid was so thin--almost like water that It just mingled with the blood and ran all over my finger. It never did dry. It really ...
Pros: Slightly cheaper than Nexcare's Liquid Bandage Cons: Read on
I suffer from tiny painful fingertip cracks during the cold winters. I purchased New Skin Liquid Bandage because it was a couple bucks cheaper than 3M's Nexcare Liquid Bandage, with which I'd had prior great success.
What a mistake. Here's what's wrong with New-Skin:
(a) It's very runny (think clear nail polish). This makes it impossible to apply to small areas with the required fine and detailed touch.
(b) The brush is large, and during use the liquid courses down along the brush, again making the finer touch impossible and/or resulting in large falling drips onto unwanted areas or surfaces.
(c) It lacks sealing properties. The liquid merely *covers* the cracks, it does not heal or seal them.
(d) The bandage doesn't last. It's easily rubbed off or washed away within a day.
(d) A bit of a unpleasant odor and stinging sensation.
I will never buy this product again.
I have returned to 3M's Nexcare Liquid Bandage, which is a superior product in every way, and I will GLADLY pay the couple extra bucks. New-Skin is a poor imitation. Don't waste your money.
Pros: Perfect for those small but annoying cuts! Cons: Stings at first more than I'd like, but that's why it's only for small wounds.
It is perfect for papercuts and hangnails, those little annoying but painful little cuts that bother you when typing, writing, etc and you keep re-opening when working with your hands. One application usually lasts the whole work day.
Pros: Easy to apply, less bulky than other types of bandages. Cons: Stings when first applied, doesn't stay on very well, has a strong odor.
I got a bottle of New Skin liquid bandage because I thought it would be perfect for the annoying paper cuts I sometimes get on my fingers. I really don't like using other types of bandages for those types of cuts because they can get wet as well as interfere with other functions. I tried this product and don't like it. the liquid bandage really stings when it is applied and it doesn't stay on all that well. I found that getting it wet a few times is all it takes for the bandage to fall off. Even if it doesn't get wet, it comes off anyway but takes longer to do so. The liquid itself has a strong odor and I think it smells a bit like fingernail polish. I really don't see where it is any better than using conventional bandages for relatively minor cuts.
I LOVE IT!! GREAT FOR RUNNERS! by kerl-mcclain ,Sep 29 '05
Pros: Keeps out moisture, works when other bandages can't Cons: Hard to come off
When breaking in a new pair of shoes or when running long distances on very hot days, it's easy to get blisters or chafing. Ordinary bandages do nothing for this as they get sweaty and fall off. This stuff works GREAT!
New-Skin - Greatest Invention since sliced bread by xyjames ,Nov 16 '05
Pros: Seals wound shut, waterproof, flexible, doesnt fall off Cons: stings a little, just like all antiseptics, do nothing to complain
I love it. Ever since my first use, I've recommended it to everyone I know. New skin is like crazy glue, only more flexible. It basically seals the wound, and lets it heal w/o it getting contaminated. I am always working w/ my hands, and band aids always get wet after a wash or swimming, where this stays on, and is practically invisible. Healing time is cut down due to the seal. Yeah so it stings a little, that's the medicine at work dummy.
Pros: Water-proof and the wound heals much faster. Cons: When applying, it stinks but I think it proves its antiseptic ingredient is working.
I started trying New Skin liquid bandage in Spring this year. Since I often got small cuts on my fingers and those cuts usually took forever to heal with the traditional bandages got wet every time I washed my hands or took a shower.
New Skin works like a nail polish for women. You put a thin layer on the wound. After the liquid dries, it forms a protective film to protect the wound and is water-proof. That means I can wash my hands or take a shower while the healing is taking place under the protective film. What I found out using New Skin my wounds heal much faster than using the traditional bandage.
