Pros: Relatively low price, high resolution, sharp photos, large and fluid LCD, features Cons: Weak flash, no optical viewfinder
Selling for less than $299, the Nikon Coolpix P1 features 8-Megapixel resolution, WiFi connectivity, a large 2.5-inch LCD screen and a lot of other useful features. I got my camera for $295. What is Nikon Coolpix P1? The Nikon Coolpix P1 is ...

Pros: Compact, very high quality images, tons of features, WiFi, records pictures and video. Cons: Pricey, AC to camera cord not included.
We bought our first and last digital camera over four years ago. It has served us well enough but we really wanted a digital camera that could provide film quality images and our old HP just could not do that for us. Doing a little Christmas shopping led ...

Pros: Ease of use - even a camera novice like myself can capture amazing pictures! Cons: This camera has more tricks to it, which I am still trying to discover.
I recently replaced my Canon digital camera with the Nikon COOLPIX P1. The previous camera had 6mp, and the delay time between aim, flash, and shoot was too long, causing some missed photo opportunities. NIKON has a reputation for excellence - and this ...

Good value camera
by fluffybear ,Mar 10 '06
Pros: Good resolution, good movies, good size Cons: weak flash
I've searched the world for a good digital, maybe I finally found one. I think it took Nikon a little too long to buy into the digital age, but now that they have swallowed a bit of crow, they realize this is the future. Actually, the present. The quality of the photos are excellent. If you shake, it is somewhat forgiving. Maybe not perfect, but forgiving enough. I think the true blues and reds come out ok. I've seen lots of problems with reds in other cameras. Size is nice. But, like any digital camera this size, you are hurt in terms of flash. I have yet to find a good camera this size with a decent flash. But, that's how these all are unless you get one that is not so compact.
The 2.5 inch screen is very nice, and good enough to show your friends and enjoy. Another thing that is decent is movie mode. Clearly, they have advanced in this arena, longer movies with decent quality. OK, not a camcorder, but enough resolution that you won't feel cheated if you don't bother to bring a real video camera. And, you won't feel burdened.

Nikon Coolpix P1 Camera - Good Value, but not in love with it
by nicolerenee ,Jun 06 '06
Pros: Not too costly, lots of mega pixels, pretty long battery life Cons: Lots of blurry photos, not that small or light
I am by no means a camera expert, so if you are looking for an expert review look else where. I am on the other hand a consumer who uses my camera frequently for personal use and sometimes for professional design use.
I got this camera as a birthday gift. I really loved it at first. But then I realized that SO many of my photos were coming out blurry. I also found that there was a long delay before I could take a second shot. Besides that, I like to always carry a camera in my purse and this camera gets a bit heavy.
My boyfriend got a Canon PowerShot SD550 for Christmas a few months after I got the Nikon Coolpix P1. We both prefer his camera in terms of speed, quality, functionality, display and size. In retrospect, I wish that I had done more research before selecting this camera.
I think that this camera is a really good value if you are very concerned about the quantity of mega pixels, otherwise I would probably recommend not purchasing it.
