Don't waste money on others ! Press # 6 is the best! by katstan ,Jun 11 '06
Pros: Reliable, Quality, an absolute essential in the kitchen Cons: Finish coat wears off over time.
This is our 6th garlic press and we've had it for 6 years. #1-5 has met their demise. The grater part always broke through or the handles came unhinged. PAMPERED CHEF's has held up "daily" to the test for 6 years now. I wouldn't buy any other press. I'm the prep cook in the house and fancy gadgets are fun but there's nothing like pure quality and durability in your trusty garlic press. It's a bit pricey for a press but if you add up all the money spent on 5 other presses that broke over a short period of time, pampered chef's is really a good investment.
CON: The only downfall the press is that the coating has worn off at the grater flat edge. We use a sharp knife to cut off the crushed garlic. Over time, this area is now discolored. It still functions grate (opps Great)but doesn't look new at all.
The PRESS of the Garlic PRESSES! by chefdel ,Sep 23 '06
Pros: Easy use, care, no peeling! No garlic smell on hands! Cons: None!
I have often avoided using garlic in my recipes because of the time consuming and inconvenience of it all....until I discovered the Garlic Press of all Garlic Presses!
This is a kitchen tool that you cannot be without! Offers the easiest way to press garlic without leaving you smelling like garlic!
No peeling required, has a wonderful little tool for removal of the peel once the garlic has been pressed and this tool is also used to scrape off garlic from the press into your bowl!
Aluminum so it resists rust!
Can be used to crush fresh, peeled ginger root and even bouillon cubes so that they will dissolve in water easily!
The handle is a wonderful design for easy and practical use!
The Press that's the BEST! by jwpearce ,Mar 18 '05
Pros: Easy to use, leaves little waste and very easy to clean. Cons: Pricey
I have owned this product for about five years. I purchased it after throwing away two other garlic presses that didn't do a good job and were nearly impossible to clean.
This product is durable and easy to use. It does not take a lot of pressure to make uniform minced garlic. The press pieces go together cleanly, and do not leave a lot of wasted garlic inside as many presses do. If you want small pieces of garlic, you can use a paring knife to scrape the garlic off as you press.
The best thing about this garlic press is the ability to get it very clean. It is dishwasher safe, but also comes with a device that you stick in the holes to clean them out.
This is a very high quality product that is worth the price.
