Pros: Excellent recording quality, easy to use, fast, versatile playback, digital tuner and HDMI included Cons: Could be cheaper
Electronic devices are constantly getting cheaper and have more features. DVD recorders are no exception from this trend. The Panasonic DMR-EZ27 costs less than $215, which, adjusted for inflation, is less than what I paid for my first Panasonic ...
Pros: Reliable recording Cons: Not totally intuitive
First of all, the reason I bought this product was to off-load "tivoed" recordings from my DVR's hard drive. If my cable company had offered something with both a DVR and DVD recorder to rent, then that's what I would have gone with. Since I have to use ...
Pros: Cheap at auction. Free Digital TV programming with 5.1 surround. Records like a VCR. Cons: Confusing navigation. Tuner glitches when channel surfing. No 5.1 recording.
I picked up this DVD burner in an auction for $75. At that price it's a fantastic deal. =) What drew me in was the ATSC tuner. I have no cable or satellite so I've been picking up my TV over the air for a while now. I've gotten used to a certain ...
Pros: Good picture quality, even when playing back recorded HD (but it's not "true" HD quality) Cons: Noisy drive
I replaced my older Panasonic DVD recorder with this model, because I wanted to be able to record HD and digital channels that are available on my basic digital cable, and watch them on my HDTV. It does what I wanted - it can tune in and record analog ...
Pros: Recording programs with an ATSC tuner. Supports - and R/RW DL capablity Cons: Price, Poor Quality on DVD Recordings from over the air. Menus confusing, funky disk drawer
I receive all my HDTV broadcasts from over the air and needed a decent recorder to record my favorite HD programming in 480 horizontal resolutions. VHS was not cutting it for me. What drew me towards the Panasonic DMR-EZ27K was the capability of the ...
Pros: Worked great for first 12 months in all respects. Cons: After 12 months, its dead; NO sound quality or picture quality at ALL.
QUIT WORKING ENTIRELY after 1 year 2 months. It worked GREAT for the first 1 year and 1 month. It only got mild use, maybe once a week; it sat in the same place, never moved, no exposure to sunlight or heat sources or magnetic sources, and ...
Pros: What good is 1080p up convert when the HDMI cable won't interface with the TV? Cons: I wish I could say something good about this unit.
Bought this to go with my new 1080p flat-panel. HDMI connection only successful on about 5% of my DVDs - must use S-video on all others. Cannot access any of my DVDs menus with this unit. I'm quite upset and I haven't even tried to record anything yet. Since this is the second unit in two weeks, I am only hoping the retailer will take this piece of trash back and get me something that really does work.
More frustration than it is worth by bepilot ,Jun 25 '09
Pros: Panasonic customer support is friendly and sent me a software upgrade CD at no charge. Cons: Recorder is to tempermental to be useful.
I bought this unit just to record DVD's from my old VHS tape library. It has a digital tuner which is of no use to me as I have satellite service. The memory card slots and other functions are of no use to me. I have found it is not intuitive to operate and the manual is not clearly written. The unit has problems with DVD-R discs and is very frustrating to record with. The unit looks nice - when you can get Panisonic support on the phone they seem to be helpful - they have sent me software upgrades at no charge The technician also told me I have to use individually packaged DVD-R discs. The bulk spindled discs don't work usually he said. I have found the unit doesn't recognize the majority of any DVD-R discs. I can only get reliable recordings using more expensive DVD-RW discs.
