Pros: Excellent Design, Quality and Features! Get what you pay for! Cons: Excellent Phone, no cons except that only one ring tone is good!
* Excellent Telephone! I have had a couple cordless phones in the past and this is by far the best. It has an excellent design that holds nicely in may hand and fits comfortably against my ear. It comes with a removable clip, for clipping it to your pants ...
Pros: Lots of features for the money - extended battery life - Affordable Cons: It's.....white
Intro- If you're a regular reader of my reviews, you might recall that I reviewed another Panasonic cordless not long ago. That unit was the KX-TG2215B. I initially liked that particular phone (Which I selected based upon my very limited ...
Pros: Economical price, abundant features, great sound quality. Cons: Ergonomics could have been a little better, not able to program dialed numbers into memory.
I bought this phone at Target for around $50 and have been nothing but pleased. It is a great value for the price. It comes with 30-number caller ID, call-waiting caller ID, searchable 50-number memory, voice enhancement, ability to add numbers into ...
All Panasonic 22XX phones are to be avoided ! by jupiter444 ,Apr 06 '05
Pros: Speakerphone on handset, large buttons, visual ( handset antenna) ringer Cons: Cuts off calls, echo-y sound, poor battery life /bad quality control.
Panasonic replaced this entire line of "22XX" series phones with "23XX" series phones earlier this year and added FHSS which means "frequency hopping spread spectrum" because without it...these phones kept cutting off calls when experiencing interference...which runs rampant in today's wireless computer-peripheral equipped household.
FHSS causes the phone to constantly change frequencies during a phone call so that if interference DOES occur it isn't on that same frequency long enough to drop the call like all these "22XX" series phones do. Hence the reason to avoid these models completely and look at the "23XX" series instead.
If you live on a farm or a block away from any neighbour and have no computer wireless hardware and have the phone nowhere near a microwave, computer moniter or TV..then these should work for you. Then you just have to deal with the spotty quality control on any Panasonic product made in Mexico or Malaysia, and the poor battery life. Skip it altogether and if you must buy a Panasonic pick the 1486 instead...analog & 900 MHZ and made in China..or take a chance they improved things with the "23XX" series.
I've had this phone for over a year and have pretty much hated it the entire time. I purchased it as a replacement for a V-Tech 900MHz DSS phone thinking 2.4GHz would be better. I was wrong. I'm not sure if it's the technology or this phone but if I walk 20 feet from the base and stay in the house the phone cuts in and out CONSTANTLY. I just ordered a 2.4GHz phone from my phone company, Qwest, and am hoping the phone will be of higher quality. If you do buy this phone be sure to FULLY test it in all areas of your house, and walk around while on a call, before you toss all the packaging and receipt.
Pros: Price is right; phone not upright in base. Cons: Haven't found any yet!
While we only recently bought the Panaxonic KX TG2214W Cordless Phone, I'm quite pleased with it. The phone itself is cradled in the charger base -- a plus with our elementary-age children. After viewing and "testing" several cordless phones in the store, our 7-year-old and I found this one best -- the phone can't be knocked over! :-)
The caller ID is great and easy to use, as is the "phone book", in place of memory dialing. It's nice not to have to remember who is programmed into which number or to have a sticky on the phone with the programmed listing.
I haven't used all the features, but the speaker phone worked well and was very understandable -- good sound quality (notice I didn't say "excellent" -- it's "good", but we only need "good" so it's definitely not a "con" for this phone).
Pros: Speakerphone with mute on handset
Reliable
Brand Name
Headset plugin on handset Cons: Only found in white color
Volume on speakerphone doesn't go loud enough
I've had this phone for about 8 months now. The main reason I got it was because it had a speakerphone with mute on the handset. I found a ton of other speakerphones on handsets, but they never had a mute button. I do a lot of conference calls so the mute is very important to me.
I've never had any problems with the phone since I bought it. It's never once cut out or dropped me from a conference call. I've never had anyone have trouble hearing me, speakerphone or not.
Pros: Cost
Appearance and functions Cons: Haven't found a problem yet
I have to concur with justinbw who wrote a very positive review of this phone in October of 2003. While I do not get too involved in the 'extras' as does justinbw, I am very pleased with the simple basics of the phone...the unique ring,
the screen that lights up, the easy-to-read caller ID, and I like that it is white (unlike another reviewer). You can have more than one in a house without them interfering with each other. See justinbw's review for additional details.
Panasonic KX TG2214W Cordless Pone by debster55 ,Dec 02 '03
Pros: Cost, handset speakerphone, backlit handset LCD, shoulder rest attachment Cons: Operation is faulty. Loose conversation, then it pops back in.
I purchased this phone about a year ago. All the features that this phone offered (along with it's price) is what attracted me to this particular phone. I couldn't find anything that compared, however...I'm highly dissapointed in this Panasonic product.
I've called Panasonic service, they attempted to help, but my receipt is long gone....so I'm out of luck.
Since purchasing this phone, I've had problems with loosing (or should I say) fading conversations and clicking noises in the phone. I originally thought I had a phone line problem, but that wasn't the case. Finally I thought that the phone was perhaps a lemon and I would try it again. I went out and purchased the exact same phone just last week. Since purchasing the new one, I'm starting to notice the same problems. It goes back to the store for a refund tomorrow and I'll try my luck with another brand.
Great features and low cost is attractive, but it's not worth me having to wonder if Panasonic just isn't up to par when it comes to cordless phone technology.
Pros: Price, range, look and feel (headset/buttons), clarity, HEADSET Speaker phone AND CallerID. Cons: I wish I could turn the volume up a bit more.
This is a very nice phone. This is the second Panasonic cordless I've had and now I won't have any other kind. The features of this phone are unbeatable at this price and the NIMH battery lasts well and does not have the 'memory' of the NiCd batteries.
I recommend this phone to almost anyone and have no complaints.
If you are hearing impaired, or in a noisy environment, it may not be the phone for you, as in my opinion the volume only goes up to a moderate level at the highest setting.
