As a follow up to my recent review on Pantene Pro-V Color Revival Shampoo to make my recommendation for color treated hair complete, I'm now going to write about a product that is used as a very important second step in protecting color treated...

Pros: cheap, fairly thick, rich, moisturizing Cons: not unique- one of 3 similar Pantene conditioners

The Product
The Pantene Color-Revival conditioner that I bought was 25.4 FL OZ but it comes in a smaller size as well. I believe it was approx. $7. You can find the product at most grocery/drug stores.
Pros: Immediate results: great hair after 1 use. Cons: Large number of silicone derivatives lead to buildup after a while.
This week I'm blonde, after a month as a redhead. Before that my hair has been every hue found in nature and more than a couple that aren't. Whenever I have a few minutes to myself I seem to dye my hair and the result is damage, frizz and brittleness....

color revival...you've done me wrong by moonsun ,Dec 07 '03
Pros: Reasonably inexpensive, smells nice Cons: Frizz, tangles, dryness, unusual shedding of hair upon application.
I've been using the new line of Pantene Pro-V products for over a year. I started out with the Moisture Renewal, second, switched to the Sheer Volume, yet after coloring my hair for the first time a few months ago, I decided it would be best if i used the Color Revival conditioner. Now I'm aware that many of the Pantene conditioners are very similar when it comes to ingredients, however, this particular conditioner acted as a poison. I have fine, long, dry hair and this conditioner dehydrated my hair even more over time. I got bad frizz and my hair was very unmanangeable and tangled. In addition, i shed an unusual amount of hair upon application of this product. If you want soft, silky locks, simply switch to Pantene's Smooth and Sleek conditioner. It is what I am now using and I have yet to see a problem.
I have the type of hair that NEEDS conditioner. There are only 2 conditioners that leave my hair feeling clean (not the heavy buildup that others leave)and soft. This is one of them. I love all Pantene products and is definately my first choice when I shop!
Great Conditioner..but Not Perfect by lushlindy ,Jan 16 '06
Pros: Reasonable price, tons of shine Cons: Does not deep condition, can over condition if used too frequently
This conditioner is one of the great one for protecting colored hair. It has a pleasant scent and you get a lot of it for a reasonable price. It conditions colored hair well leaving it silky and manageable. One of the best features for me is that it also leaves a superb shine to your hair and, let's face it, colored hair is often very dull looking and frizzy. I only use a very small amount, less than a teaspoon each time. If I use more my hair tends to get sticky. I use a build-up remover shampoo every time I wash my hair because I use hair spray. The shampoo generally takes care of any conditioner build-up as well.
The only negative I find about it is that is doesn't deep condition at all. Once you apply it your hair texture is great but if your hair is in poor shape it won't help change that. The conditioning quality is temporary and superficial. However, it never claims to deep condition so that's fair enough. When I color my hair I use a deep conditioner once or twice afterwards, then continue with the Pantene until the next coloring.
