Pros: New Innovative design, fancy looking, quick charge inspite of elextronic induction system Cons: Not much improvement from previous model. Pricey
Previous experience: My dad uses only Norelco shavers and he swears by them. On one occasion his good old faithful Norelco Reflex shaver died on him and he had to use a Gillette razor and not having used a gillette Razor, he messed up his ...

Pros: Ultimate shaving machine for the toy/gadget lover, long lasting battery, carbon fiber trim, expensive looking Cons: Shaves at least a couple C-notes off your wallet.
This review is the for the Norelco Arcitec 1090X razor. My girlfriend got this razor for me in Christmas 2007, so it's been a good half year that I've been using it, so now it's time for a review! I have used electric razors since I started ...

Pros: Clean shave, ABSOLUTELY SLEEK! Charges quick, easy to clean Cons: Pricey, neck shaving not the best
Awright, I got into the world of electric shaving 3 years back. Bought an earlier model of Braun (foil cutter) just to see how well it cut. I was impressed by its performance and have alternated with wet shaving.Seeing newer and fancier models in ...

Arcitec 1090X Disappointment
by malabarbob ,Mar 12 '08
Pros: comfortable to hold Cons: Does not give close shave. Requires daily cleaning
I have been a Norelco customer for over 45 years. I thought I was buying a state-of-the-art quality product that would deliver an engineered close shave.
It is comfortable to hold and the head assembly does follow the contour of your face, but in my opinion, you have to press real hard to get a reasonable shave. Color me disappointed violates the expectation - the more you pay, the better the product.

Warning before buying
by m3904 ,Aug 05 '09
Pros: Very good shave when heads are new. Cons: The heads do not clean well due to the design.
You may need to replace the entire head unit every six months, and not 12 months as recommended. At $35 each, the unit will cost an additional $70 per year. Trust me, I have had it six months, and even following the cleaning procedures, the razor is now useless due to the poor quality of the shave. Obviously, the marketing strategy is to entice you, and then hook you for more money in replacement heads every six months. The problem lies in the design and the inability to clean each individual head. I've beesn using Norelcos my entire life, but am sorely dissapointed in this design feature.

Arcitec-Review
by pjlfam ,Aug 16 '09
Pros: Cleans up with running water; it recharges Cons: Doesn't shave close; can't trim; constantly needs to be cleaned after every shave
Having thought I bought the latest and greatest electric shaver...I wish I had the opportunity to test drive the Arcitec before spending over $160 for a shaver that is ABSOLUTELY the worst electric shaver ever owned by me...ever! Having touted itself as having "precision cutting system" which they claim covers 50% more surface and cuts long hairs and holes to shave stubble" whatever gibberish that means...the shaver also is supposed to have "super lift and cut technology" gently lifting hair and cutting it comfortably below the skin level for an ultra close shave. Yeah. Only after you use your single edge razor blade in the shower to make sure the facial hairs left uncut by Arcitec are actually cut. Only then can you expect an "ultra close shave." Philips-Norelco probably forgot to tell you about the need for your old single blade razor...the list goes on and on. This razor is over-hyped and not worth the money. Hope this review helps.
