Presto PopLite -- Popcorn has never tasted this bad before.

by CyndiA CyndiA is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Home and Garden, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Sep 08 '01
Pros: Healthy. Fast. Easy. Inexpensive.
Cons: The popcorn tastes like cardboard.
Picture the big bucket of popcorn at the theater with extra butter and lots of salt. You can probably smell that fresh popcorn and hear the ping, ping, ping of the kernels flying around in the glass popcorn house.

I hate to break this...

A PopcornAholic Speaks...

by Shyra2 , Jun 19 '01
Pros: inexpensive, easy to use
Cons: none
My name is Shyra2 and I am... A PopcornAholic. However, I can NOT stand movie theater popcorn due to the massive amounts of butter they pack on, which is loaded with calories. I like naturally popped popcorn with no butter and no salt. Yes... I...

Presto 04820 PopLite Popcorn Maker

by hvarmit hvarmit is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Home and Garden, , Sep 07 '09
Pros: makes a bowl of popcorn in minutes, healthier popcorn than microwave variety
Cons: sprays stray unpopped kernels everywhere
My daughter likes popcorn more than I do, and it's one of her favorite snacks. I buy the microwaveable popcorn packs (especially the smaller snack bags) because she likes to take it to pop at school during her snack time, but I don't really care for ...

Abracadabra, Presto

by snowflake224 , Feb 28 '08
Pros: air popped is a healthy, fat free option
Cons: just about everything else
Background:: After a couple years of stomach related problems, I sought the advice of a nutritionist. She told me to cut processed foods out of my diet. One change involved giving up microwavable popcorn. Instead, my hubby and I learned to make ...

The Worst Kitchen Gadget My Husband Has Purchased Yet

by dev-n-diva Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 04 '09
Pros: getting rid of it
Cons: Everything
All of my family members insist on having popcorn when we watch a movie. I had grown up with popcorn being made on the stove in a special pot with a little oil and my husband grew up on microwave popcorn. I can not stand microwave popcorn and my husband ...

HOT AIR IN MY OWN WORDS

by grandgram Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Dec 26 '00
Pros: Always ready, Needs no repairs
Cons: No on/off switch
To say that I use hot air is an understatement. I use hot air in my hair dryer, my clothes dryer, my oven exhausts the furnace and many excessive words thrown in. The one hot air appliance that is used during the holiday season and when my...

by Natasha37 , Nov 27 '06
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, fast
Cons: none if used correctly
When used to the best of its ability and filled with quality kernels, this popcorn maker will create a very inexpensive no-fat crunchy treat. What's the secret to using it successfully? There are only a few: 1. Using the included measuring cup, ...

The Great Pop-off

by kenprospero , May 01 '03
Pros: Two pieces, simple to use, simple to clean, pops most kernals.
Cons: No Off Switch, Flimsy Construction, Worse taste than Salton.
The above title sounds somewhat like a Russian Trapeze Artist, doesn't it.

I'm using it because most of this review will compare the Presto Popper with the Salton PC2 (see my previous review).

First, the nuts and bolts on the...

Taller than the competition, so it works better

by share_info , Aug 05 '07
Pros: pops more kernels than other air poppers, no need for oil
Cons: no power switch, could use an accessory bowl
I bought this popper after returning a "Kitchen Gourmet," and the Presto is much better. I knew there was something wrong with the "Kitchen Gourmet" because I had an air popper years ago and it worked well, like this Presto. I believe the difference ...

"Anyone want some popcorn?"

by BlackBear Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Apr 17 '00
Pros: Great for fast snacks and party favors
Cons: Needs to be watched constantly when in use
That's possibly the most common phrase in my house. Between my roommate and myself, we often find ourselves with a house full of friends, be it the monthly poker game, a gaming session, or just movie night with our girlfriends, popcorn is always the...

Popcorn, anyone?

by dmacioce , Nov 14 '01
Pros: Very few unpopped popcorn kernels; easy to use; easy to clean.
Cons: The air current is too strong, removing kernels before they pop.
Wow, what a popcorn popper! (and I'm not blowing a bunch of hot air at you).

A few months ago, I went out in search of the perfect popcorn popper. I went to several stores, but much to my surprise, there were not very many popcorn popper...

Healthy, clean, efficient, and fast

by Solar , Jun 11 '00
Pros: Healthy, clean, efficient and fast
Cons: none
I used to cook popcorn by heating a layer of oil in a pot, then adding popcorn and letting it pop. There are many problems with this cooking technique. One problem is the increased fat grams from the oil. That thin layer of cooking oil is absorbed by...

Doing its job and doing it good

by DSG102 , Nov 04 '00
Pros: easy to use, basically everything
Cons: none
Popcorn, one of the best foods ever. But, popcorn is fattening, especially those bags where you have to buy them with a lot of butter and other fats. This finally offers something for people like myself, a way to eat popcorn that can be healthy and not...

Healthy popcorn in minutes

by ar_c , Mar 16 '01
Pros: Good, grease free popcorn
Cons: no power switch
Anybody can operate this thing - put the popcorn in, plug it in, then catch the popcorn in a bowl. For buttered popcorn, put some butter in the tray above the spout. What could be easier?

The popcorn made by the Presto PopLite Popcorn Popper...
