Pros: Just stick and leave it. Cons: It broke up after being half used.
Update 11/26/2009I still had half of my Bounce Dryer Bar in the drum of my dryer and I heard this banging noise. It had come unstuck. I re-stuck it several times, and today it crumbled and ended up in pieces. It went all over my ...
Pros: works, long uses Cons: not as strong of a smell as dryer sheets
One thing that's annoying about dryer sheets is that sometimes they sneak off in your clothes. Not too long ago my oldest had one in her shirt at school. But, one thing that we hate around here is static cling. I also hate it when I forget to use dryer ...
Pros: Soft and fresh smelling laundry. Cons: Didn't stay attached to dryer. Left spotting on some clothes.
The Background We have an LG front load washer and dryer pair that are about 1 year old, and some of our clothes have started to develop a mildly noticeable unpleasant scent. Finding and fixing that root cause may be ...
Pros: Easy to install, smells great, and long lasting. Cons: Doesn't perform as well as I'd like dealing with static cling.
I received a Bounce Dryer Bar from Viewpoints, have been using it for over a month now, and absolutely love it. It was very easy to install, and has a wonderful scent. It is available in a 2-month bar and a 4-month bar. I received a 2 month bar, and it ...
Sounded like a good idea--wrong! by jsfarris ,Nov 01 '09
Pros: None--other than the CONCEPT. Cons: Falls off, leaves streaks, no noticeable scent on clothing--just streaks!!
This product sounded like a great idea, but I was wrong! Not only were there streaks on the dark load clothes, but also the entire thing is now covered in lint & has not given off any "softening" in 3 or 4 loads because the softener is now a mass of hardened lint. (And yes--I have a top-of-the-line dryer & I empty the trap each loadd) Also--the bar fell out of the holder for at least half of the uses the first 2 weeks...so now I've decided to just remove it. HA! The sticky residue is going to be with us forever---as a terrible memory of this bad experience!
Pros: easy to install probably better for the environment Cons: left streaks on laundry fell off after a couple loads more expensive
I was excited to try the new Bounce Dryer Bar....we have 3 kids and do a lot of laundry....thought this might actaully be economical and easier...but after 3 or four loads we removed it completely from our dryer. It left numerous streaks on our darks, and not easily wiped off...actually had to rewash some items. The last thing I need is to do more laundry! It also fell off after load 2, my husband found it tumbling around with the laundry. It was also covered with a moderate amount of lint, so not sure if it would have done much good after a few more uses. Clothes also have less fragrance in the end...which for some, might be a pro, but I love my clothes to have that fresh out of the dryer smell. Good concept...but just didn't impress me.
Pros: great scent, great concept, no residue, no hunting for dryer sheet Cons: does NOT stay attached to dryer despite many trials with various adhesives and magnets.
Love the concept. The scent is great. Doesn't leave residue like dryer sheets sometimes do. BUT, the bar will NOT stay attached to the dryer. We've tried other adhesive strips, magnets, etc etc. It always ends up coming back off and is very very frustrating. Once it comes off, it bounces around and breaks off pieces. Would LOVE to use it if it would stay put!
Pros: Great idea! Smells good. Cons: Makes marks on dark clothing. Does not come off easily.
I thought the Bounce Dryer Bar was a great invention. To think I could just stick it to the inside of the dryer and forget about fabric softener for 2-4 months! Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The first time we put in a load of dark colored clothing, we noticed white streaks on the fabric, like deodorant marks on a black shirt. We tried to scrape it off, but it just caused more streaks. We had to rewash the clothes to remove the marks. After the second rewashing, we decided to take the bar out of the dryer and go back to our dryer sheets. When I tried to remove it from the dryer drum, the sticky part stayed on the dryer. I had to use a degreaser and lots of scrubbing to get it off. Not happy.
