by Hard_To_Please Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Aug 08 '01
Pros: 100% Effective
Cons: Doesn't cure cancer.
Please do not read this if you are not familiar with me. I know that sounds like a strange request, but you will understand at the end of this review. If you insist on wanting to learn about RID, I’ll signify when the actual product review is over...

I Hate Lice

by cathyjones Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Nov 23 '03
Pros: Works, smells nice.
Cons: Expense.
About 2 months ago, I got that dreaded phone call from daycare. There was a child that was discovered to have lice over the weekend and we found lice on Lauren. UUUGGHHH. Okay, I will right there after a trip to Wal-Mart to stock up on supplies. I ...

OMG!!!!!!!!(Millenium Write-Off)

by LILvoyce Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Dec 31 '00
Pros: Rid was my last chance before being embarrassed and having to call my physician.
Cons: Treatment was unsuccessful and burned
I almost decided to back out of writing for this Millenium write off. Not only did I make some horrible purchases for this year, this has been a horrible and rather embarrassing experience for me that I would really rather forget. I decided that I...

RID doesn't get Rid of Anything!

by beckish Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jul 03 '00
Pros: smells good
Cons: doesn't work, expensive
Last year was the very worst year for lice that my children and I have ever experienced. Every time we got them clear of the critters, they would bring them home from school again.

I tried every product on the market and then some in an...

Knocks down the numbers of lice, but doesn't kill them all

by sshelle Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Feb 07 '08
Pros: kills SOME of the lice
Cons: smells bad, doesn't kill all of the lice, expensive
Twice I've had to go through this delousing routine---for two years in a row, my daughter was sent home within the first week of school for lice. It is embarrassing and maddening, especially when your daughter has hair to her behind and it is thick. ...

Rid Maximum Strength Lice Killing Shampoo - Money Down The Drain

by batraylover , Sep 25 '06
Pros: Schools still consider this an acceptable "treatment" for head lice
Cons: Ineffective, expensive, stinks, the list goes on and on
Maximum Strength Rid is a lice shampoo that claims to get rid of even the toughest of head lice cases. The problem with this claim is that every school nurse in America has recommended that children sent home with head lice, use Rid for the removal of ...

There Was a Louse in my House (And No, It Wasn't My Husband)

by lisalexx , Mar 21 '01
Pros: Easy and Promising way to get "RID" of our lice problem.
Cons: Didn't work.
Last summer I noticed that my youngest had problems keeping her hands out out her hair. Scratch, scratch, scratch. "Mommy, my head itches". I thought she just had some dirt or sand in her hair. Well, upon closer inspection I was horrified to find lice...

Wear a Hat!

by ImagiBear , Jun 24 '00
Pros: somewhat effective
Cons: not always 100% effective
Haha.. Ok,so a hat is for the PREVENTION of the little bugs in the first place.
As for my experience with this particular product. Can we say "re-infestation?". I did everything, used it twice within 10 days, washed everything and dried it...

Lice...Just Saying the Word Makes Me Itch

by specialone , Dec 23 '00
Pros: Results....First time
Cons: none
That's all it takes is hearing the word, and everyone starts scratching. Being a daycare provider, on occasion we have to send a child home with lice. Rid is one of the products we recommend to parents.

There are a lot of home remedies out...

RID gets rid of your money....

by SmyrnaMommy , Jul 06 '00
Pros: Pros?? Does having a nice colored box count?!
Cons: Does not work, expensive, bad smell
... And that is about it! This is a product that is the perfect example of something NOT doing what it is intended to do. It is expensive and a waste of money.

A couple of years back, our school system was overrun with lice. Of course, I...

RID-iculous

by asylum7830 , Sep 27 '00
Pros: Thick formula
Cons: Expensive, offensive smell, ineffective
My children, like countless others, brought the dreaded head lice home from school for the first time in May of this year. I had never experienced this problem before and immediately began asking relatives what products they had found effective with...

RID...smid

by rocoboko , Sep 11 '00
Pros: none
Cons: everything
Note: this is similar in content to another lice treatment product that I wrote an epinion on.

Unlike the other lice treatment product I wrote about, this one doesn't seem to have as many favorable reviews. But like the other product...this...

Forget about it! Doesn't Work!

by cathyb53 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jul 02 '00
Pros: not very toxic, not too hard on hair; doesn't smell as bad as some
Cons: not very effective - almost certainly you'll have to re-treat; smells bad
RID is probably as effective as any of the over-the-counter lice shampoos - which is, to be more precise, not very.

I wish that this product were one of those that fell into the majority of things on Epinions that I have no knowledge about at...

Pros: Smells not to bad.
Cons: Doesn't work very well, costly
My children's school is infested with lice and the little critters thought that my daughters head was a good place to plant itself and make my life a living nightmare.
