by Bryan_Carey Bryan_Carey is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Restaurants & Gourmet, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Oct 16 '03
Pros: Easy drinking; Easy to find
Cons: A little too light; Not quite enough complexity
Redhook Blonde Ale is a light, easy- drinking ale produced by the well- known Redhook Brewery, headquartered in Seattle, Washington. This beer is one of approx. ten styles of beer that the Redhook Company produces, a lineup that includes both seasonal bee ...

Redhook Blonde Ale: Redhook's summertime contribution

by andaryl Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, May 28 '01
Pros: Excellent thirst quencher, nice hop, grainy character. Easy drinking
Cons: Would I sound too cynical if I asked for a little more hop?
It was the worst thing that could happen. There I was mid second quarter of the Lakers demolition of San Antonio, when NBC just disappeared. ABC was there, I still had satellite, so what had happened? I wasn’t going to ask any more questions, it was a...

Plain

by Chad9976 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 19 '09
Pros: smooth; light body
Cons: bland beyond belief
I’ve been a big fan of craft beers for the last few years and am always trying to get people to try something more unique than their generic “Big Three” lagers. But if a person were to drink Red Hook Blonde Ale they would very likely ...

A Blonde With Some Substance

by beerfly , May 04 '00
Pros: Good flavor for the light character
Cons: Lighter than I like, and some folks have political problems with Redhook
"Blonde Ale." Oh, yummy.

To a a veteran of almost twenty years
of non-mainstream beer and fourteen years of microbrews, able to knock back beers with names like "Acidic Lambic" (truth, from Cantillon, had it in...

Blonde goes down easy!

by parietal , May 18 '00
Pros: smooth, not too dark/not too light
Cons: may be pricy
There are different tastes in beer drinking. Some people...usually referred to as "beer connisuers" really like that dark bitter stuff. Others...usually people who don't think of beer as a hobby...usually drink whatever is advertised the most...

Blond with personality

by moltisantai1 , Oct 01 '00
Pros: good starter micro beer, good reputation for brand
Cons: seasonal, short life span
This beer was featured this summer at my country club on tap. This beer is the perfect starter beer for those of you who haven't tried a micro-brew. It's a little sweeter than most beers.

When I tasted it for the first time I immediately...

Summer's here--not a time for porters!

by eusama , Jul 03 '01
Pros: Light beer for us non-light beer drinkers.
Cons: None whatsoever.
I look forward to Redhook Blonde Ale every summer. That, and various Hefeweizens. When you're doing yardwork and laying around the pool in the hot Texas sun, you don't want anything really heavy. You also don't want Coors Light--if you do, then why...

A good summer beer

by feliciapaf , Mar 15 '00
Pros: Light, easy to drink
Cons: Might be too light for some beer drinkers
I look forward every year to the time when Redhook starts making their blonde ale again. It is the lightest beer they make, which seems to turn some people away, but I think it is the perfect complement to a warm summer afternoon on their patio. It is...

At least it has a cool t-shirt

by EddieMas , Jan 11 '00
Pros: They make nice t-shirts!
Cons: beer's not good
"Fall in love with a blonde" it says on the front, with the back having the blonde ale label. I bought the shirt for my blonde girlfriend, then tasted the beer. I didn't like the beer as much as the shirt. It fact, i didn't like the beer enough...

More of a Lager than any kind of Ale
by beerlover82 ,Dec 20 '03
Pros: Good medium body, character, better than any macros, good as Yuengling
Cons: Light on flavor and hops
After downing two of Red Hook's Blackhooks, I decided to give this a try. Had this on tap, and it pours a medium( not as pale as macros) golden color, and decent head and foam which sticks to the glass.Aroma is of some hops and some malt. I tasted little hops and some malt, but that's it.Body is medium and beats any macro swill out there. I must say this is more of a lager than any kind of ale. An average alcohol content being little over five percent, this is decent and I would compare it to Yuengling as being a good lager and surpassing the macro swill put out by Bud, Miller, Coors, Pabst etc.Decent stuff overall, but this could be much, much better if the Red Hook Brewery gets some guts and puts more hoppiness and body into it. It wasn't too expensive (at least at my bar, once again) and could be one of the better choices at some taverns.
