Pros: Easy to use iron with many features. Cons: No idiot's guide to ironing manual with unit. Expensive.
IRONY: Incongruity between the actual and expected result of events. IRON: Heated device for pressing clothes I found it very ironic that many products called themselves Irons yet all of my early experiences with most brands of ...
Pros: Strongest average steam pressure, big water tank, yellow-green-red temperature leds, excellent controls, heavy Cons: Price, no sound warning
The thing is with irons, that when you buy one, you probably won't buy another one in the next 10 or 20 years. So if I buy one, it must serve for long, there is no second bet - this is why I chose the Rowenta DX-9300 (DX-9800 in the USA). Here you are my ...
Pros: Ease of use Cons: Why didn't I get this sooner!
I used to use those old clunky irons and hated it. It was a chore, actually it was more like pulling teeth. I had a bottom of the line Rowenta for 10 years and on combo fabrics it was fine. Still a chore, but better than the previous irons used. As I ...
Pros: Great performance one-pass ironing with little or no strain on wrist, arm, back. Cons: A bit pricey if you just buy it at regular price.
WOW!!! THIS IS THE BEST IRON I HAVE EVER USED!!! I've had three (what I thought were medium priced) irons prior to this one. One had a stainless steel sole-plate, the others a teflon or teflon-like material for easier gliding over the fabric. They ...
Pros: worked well, lots of steam Cons: bursts of steam upon standing up, burned out after about 2 years
We purchased our Rowenta iron about 2-3 years ago, I believe it was at Linens & Things. I had always been under the impression that they were excellent irons, so I was willing to pay the high price. While the iron worked well, I usually found that it ...
Pros: Looks nice sitting on the ironing board which is the only thing it does well Cons: bad steam control, vomits on clothes, bad pump, way too expensive, horrible customer service
I bought this iron about 18 months ago from my local Bed, Bath, and Beyond store for $140. It worked well for about 6 months. The steam is very powerful. However, the steam adjustment knob might look like it has about 8 settings but there's really only two, on and off. The steam is also very inconsistent on any setting. The pressure and amount of steam varies quite a bit. Then it began to spit reddish brown water all over my clothes which has become more frequent. Soon after that started the entire left side of the steam plate stopped producing steam all together. Finally, the manual pump that is used for the steam burst and mister stopped working. I finally called Rowenta about this and they informed me that the product only had a one year warranty and they wouldn't even consider giving me a replacement unless I had the receipt. I have a $20 GE that I'm using in it's place and it seems to work just as well and has worked for several years. I've always heard good things about Rowenta but they are not evident in the iron I have or their customer service.
Pros: Powerful steam, big reservoir Cons: Taller than most irons (doesn't fit in iron hole I have in wall), expensive
I wanted a good steam iron and this is it. When I iron something, I would rather the steam do the work than the temperature and pressure. It heats up quickly and the steam is exactly what the reviews said - powerful. The reservoir is big enough so that I am not going back for refills constantly. The temperature is what I expect.
Pros: Takes out wrinkles, auto shut off, nice steam, heavy Cons: Sometimes after you finish or during steam ironing it will spit. Expensive.
I researched for awhile and found this one highly recommended. After purchase it did not disappoint me and I really like the way it takes wrinkles out with ease. I iron everyday and just leave it set up in my living room, with the auto shut off feature I don't worry about forgetting to turn it off. It has a strong steam that immediately demolishes the wrinkles, even on my jeans which took so much more effort with my old iron to get smooth. I have had other Rowenta irons, the Professional for one, and although just as expensive they could not touch the Perfect in performance in my opinion. Another nice thing about this iron is it has a large water tank that is easy to fill without getting water everywhere. This normally last me 3 or 4 days before I have to refill. Can't think of anything to hate about it except the spitting it does occasionally, I can see how someone could get burned by the hot water but luckily my iron faces the wall when upright so no casualties here.
