Pros: Price Cons: Massive chuck run out. I mean massive!
First we will start with a little education.
What makes a good drill press? And what are they for?
A drill press is for drilling accurate holes as the primary task but it can also be used for other things like drum sanding and...
Pros: Powerful Motor, nice fit 'n finish, great price. Cons: At this price? None!
When I buy tools, especially power tools, I don't necessarily shop around on price. I just want the best value for my money. Bang for the buck, if you will. In this case I got that in spades. Normally the DP100 by Ryobi sells for about $150.00 - $179.00....
Pros: Inexpensive, excellent for light shop use Cons: I burned my first motor up in two hours. (A fluke?)
After years of fighting the inaccuracies of a hand drill, it was time to move up. The price was right and Ryobi’s product was perfect for my light shop needs. I build a modest number of birdhouses from my garage, not quite mass-production, but hardly...
Pros: A great beginners drill press Cons: Speed adjustment can be difficult
The Ryobi DP100 is one of those tools you wonder how you got
along with out it. With its 1/2" chuck that allows you to use a
variety of bits from standard drill bits to forstner bits to
drum sanders.
The 1/4 horse motor and 5...
After having a couple of medium-bad experiences with other ryobi products, I was a little concerned about the $97 priced tool at home depot. I can gladly report that I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the 10" ryobi drill press. I put it to work...
When the first displayed an orbital drilling pattern (egg-shaped) and I couldn't fix it, I took it to a licensed repaired shop. They failed to fix it and ordered a replacement. Ryobi shipped a rebuilt. It arrived FULLY assembled in a large cardboard box...
Pros: COMPACT Cons: TAPERED SHAFT , SPRING LOADED CHUCK KEY
I bought my ryobi DP100 drill press 3 years ago and wrecked it today .
It was a fair tool , but was not perfect . The tapered shaft is a pain
in the you know what . The chuck key has a spring loaded pin sticking
out the end to keep you...
Pros: Good price, easy assembly Cons: Very poor quality, terrible run out
I just purchased this 10 inch drill press from Home Depot. Looks great and set up was simple. I have used many Ryobi power tools and have been very satisfied so I was anticipating the same with the DP100. Everything worked well but the run out or wobble was significant. I returned the unit for another one thinking that it was a fluke. To my disappointment, the second unit was worse than the first. The pulleys were out of round and the unit makes too much vibration and noise, the spindle action is not smooth and there's still too much run out. It may be possible that I got two lemons in a row but I would have expected much better quality. It's nothing like my 10 in Ryobi table saw. I haven't taken this one back yet. I'm trying to decide what to do and doing a lot more research on drill presses.

Pros: CHEAP Cons: CHEAP
Cheap to buy but Cheap quality BEWARE , You do get what you pay for .. Paper thin castings , NO corrosion protection , The Belt tensioner is a ludicrous example , and must have been """designed """ by anyone other than an engineer . The word " Press " should be deleted from the description . You couldn't press a shirt with this thing . The Table deflects if you look at it too sternly . You couldn't press a bearing if you tried . Chuck will not close down to a # 60 bit even though the Blurb states 0 -. WHAT a pity that I can't get a decent american piece of kit ... even at twice the price I would be happy . The Column and table are rusting away before my very eyes .. I read a glowing report on this Before buying . I wonder Who payed for that ? I am certainly paying now .
