Pros: Made By Samsung, Easy Hookup, Not Heavy, User Changeable Lightbulb Cons: Having To Replace The Lightbulb Every 3-5 Years
I recently jumped into the HDTV market after giving up my old standard picture tube TV for this Samsung HDTV Rear Projection DLP TV. I read up on HDTV's through Audio/Video magazines as well as past users experiences along with Consumer ...

Pros: Cheap, lightweight, and initially a very clear picture. Cons: Sidebar "burn in", lines across screen, load humming, not worth it!
I have had this TV for 1.5 years and there have been many issues. We didn't have HD capabilities for about 5 months after the purchase and viewing in a non-stretch mode resulted in "burn-in" where the sidebars were. Upon calling Samsung ...

Great HDTV and at an even greater price!
by d778899 ,Nov 28 '06
Pros: -Incredible price
-Does everything well
-Impressive DVD viewing experience Cons: -Bigger than flat panels
-The bulb will burn out eventually (5000 hrs.)
I purchased this set at a Black Friday sale for $799. The picture is amazing and I saved a bundle over a plasma set. A sd signal looks great on this set - some HDTVs don't display standard signals well. I watch a lot of movies on DVD and they looks stellar on this set - my DVD player upconverts to HD. In addition, my kids love the game mode designed for video games.

Excellent picture; Poor service
by buddha64 ,Jan 13 '07
Pros: Great picture. Excellent price Cons: Lamp died after three months. Phone service center less than responsive.
Love the TV. The picture is excellent. However the lamp went out after three months. The phone service department strung us along for the better part of a week. They never called us even though each day they said they would call the next day. When we finally were put in touch with a service center they were so backed up that I had to fix the television my self, they did supply the part.

Great Picture for a 720
by str8upview ,Apr 23 '07
Pros: Great Features. Cons: Terrible customer service.
We love this set, wait we hate this set. Having intermittant lip sync problems since new. Samsung service said upon arrival at our house (not even in the tv or its menus), "looks great, my tech support says no lip sync problems with this model" said by and left. It really is an awesome set, but we are done with it and Samsung.

P.O.S.
by chokerdog ,Mar 07 '08
Pros: light weight but thats about it. not much else to say except P.O.S.
Cons: the picture settings were to difficult to navigate.
Right from the get go my tv was blurry and grainy. Thought maybe it was the cable connection. then a week later I was getting black horizontal lines though the screen.
Called Samsung and they tried to find a repair shop and couldnt find one. So now thier going to send a new tv to me. But that was 3 weeks ago.

Sounds Good But...
by boyroy ,Dec 21 '07
Pros: Big TV Cons: It doesn't work.
The picture went wrong after a couple months. Thought it was just bad signal but just got worse. After less than six months I called for service. They took it away saying they needed a board. Week and a half ago. Wife watches nothing but sports on her TV, son plays games, and gave my daughter ( has own home )my old toshiba. Going to look at new toshibas tomorow and would suggest samsung not worth the trouble that comes with slightly lower price.
Reading more, maybe we all need samsungs to help with that.
