Pros: Great hoppy flavor! Cons: Ergoproptorhoc
When I first tasted the I.P.A. from my Twelve Beers of Christmas gift pack, I thought that this was one of the best india pale ales that I have ever had. Not long after, I was told by a friend (Jason Noyes) that he thought that the Brooklyn Brewing...

Pros: Hoppier than ever. Cons: I've only seen it in the sampler.
As a beer enthusiast, I've come across plenty of great brews in my day. Over years of tasting, I have come to look at beers and judge them from two different angles: by style, and by a hedonistic approach. There's more than one way to pop a cap, if you ...

Pros: very hoppy, pretty direct flavor. Cons: To hoppy for me, it should suit hopheads, though.

Pros: Very tasty; extremely smooth; not too filling Cons: Flavor is a little too mild; prefer more citrus flavor
I admit I’m pretty new to this beer-reviewing game, but one thing I do know is that I love India Pale Ale. Recently, I tried an IPA that was absolutely delicious and smooth and today I’ll be reviewing a beer that’s almost equally as ...

Pros: Came in a variety pack. Refreshing ale. Cons: Was not a great example of the Pale Ale style
Here’s the situation; it’s Saturday night and I’m wandering through a beverage store in Lenox, Massachusetts. My son’s hockey team was playing in a tournament and after three tough games most of us dads were looking for a cold one to relax with and get...

Pros: versatile, smooth flavor Cons: limited release, nothing special about the flavor
I wanted a nice gift pack for a friend of ours. I was thinking Sam Adams, but their summer variety pack of beers isnt out in our area yet. As I perused the selection at our local beer distributor, the Saranac label leapt out at me. I bought two; ...

Pros: A pretty good beer Cons: Not really too hoppy
The Saranac IPA is a seasonal that is only available in their Twelve Beers of Christmas Sampler pack. The IPA is not to be confused with their pale ale. The pale ale is available on a year round basis. This IPA which is a little better is only...

Pros: No redeeming value Cons: Taste, quality, consistency, etc. and for that it's expensive!
Saranac is a prime example of how difficult it can be to love micro-brews the way I do. It's hard work to try all these different beers and sometimes you have to sift through a lot of bad ones. Saranac is one of those.
