It's getting to be that time of year again, the...
Scotts lawn products are by far superior to most all other lawn products out on the market. There are some others that give better results on different things.
In my yard I have a couple of different types of grass. Being here in Florida,...

Pros: I'll admit that in years past it performed well. Cons: Some bags must be 'mixed' wrong because this year it killed my lawn.
I have been using Scott's lawn products for 25 to 30 years. I know WHEN to apply the products. I know HOW to apply the products! And I know what to EXPECT from the products. I wish I could post pictures here on this forum. I will admit that my lawn ...
Pros: Excellent product when applied correctly without uncontrollable, outside influences. Cons: Takes time to prepare application, but what product doesn't i.e, "Shake can well before using."

Pros: Easy Application With Drop Spreader Cons: Lots Of Aerobic Activity For Sorry Results
Applied this product on my lawn in late April of last year. Followed all directions and properly calibrated drop spreader. Grass area looked great as fertilizer kicked-in; however, product did nothing to even reduce dandelions. In fact, it was our worst year ever. I am definitely not wasting my money on this product this year. On my next trip to the garden center, I'm going to read the ingredients to see how much potassium is in that stuff!
Pros: Sticks to wet weeds easily, spreads easily, and you can't argue with results. Cons: Slightly dusty, just pour slowly.
I applied the Turf Builder with Plus 2 Weed Control a couple days ago. I applied it while the morning dew was still on the ground so the particles would stick to the few weeds I had (mainly clover). I am already starting to see the results in the clover as it turns yellow and looks sick. I sprayed earlier this spring with Ortho Weed B Gone Max, so my weed problem was 99% taken care of then.
Many reviewers on this site are complaining about the clumps. I only had one very small clump about half the size of a golf ball, and the clump was torn apart by the rotating piece at the bottom of the spreader. I didn't even have to touch it. So, I question where they are buying their fertilizer, and wondering if that store is storing it improperly, or using fertilizer left over from last year.
I've been using only Scotts products since I moved in last summer, and I have seen consistent improvements in my lawn.
Scott's Turf Builder Killed My Lawn!! by greenthumb888 ,Sep 02 '06
Pros: Excellent if you need to KILL your lawn Cons: Yes. I am informed and believe that their product claim is a con.
I had the most green and vibrant Dichondra lawn you could ever imagine. There were a few spots where it didn't grow in.
Scott's Turf Builder list that the product works on "Dichondra" on the bag.
I used it exactly per the instrux and it killed my entire lawn! I am devastated. When I called them, they were not surprised and said it would get worse before it got better.
I have pictures, videos, proof. This product/company has some explaining to do.
They need to list on the product label that it may KILL your entire lawn.
Does anyone know how to get this stuff out of your soil? Will I ever be able to grow the Dichondra lawn back?
