Love, Love, Love this bed

by lauramay , Mar 03 '09
Pros: Very comfortable, easy assembly, 20 year warranty, can change to your soft/hardness that you prefer.
Cons: I am reluctant to get out of bed in the mornings!
My husband and I purchased our Sleep Number 4000 about a month ago.  The only way I can think to describe this bed is LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!  Before purchasing this bed, I had to take a sleep aid in order to sleep through the night. If ...

by deep6dit2 , Aug 11 '07
Pros: It has held up - I can see it really does last! COMFORTABLE!
Cons: I hate sleeping on other beds now.
MY back was TORE UP. I bought the bed thinking I should give it a try - the very next day - my back felt better...and over time - better and better. My number has changed over time - but - the materials are high quality - I've had NO issues with it. ...

Sleep Number 4000

by scoobence , Oct 11 '05
Pros: Comfort, ability to adapt to what I need in a mattress, good quality
Cons: mattress and parts a little smelly at first (rubber)
This bed is so awesome. I prefer a bed that is a bit softer but sometimes, after sitting on the floor, hunched over and painting, I prefer a firmer mattress. With my bed I can choose however I want to sleep. It did not take long to set up the ...

Select Comfort 4000 pillowtop (2005 model 11 inches thick)

by abotnick , May 22 '06
Pros: Adjustable, incredibly comfortable, 20 year warranty, great customer service, great value for money, financing.
Cons: Expensive, requires assembly and bad communication with financing.
I've tried many different kinds of mattresses from the high end metal coil, waterbeds, viscoelastic foam (Tempurpedic) and finally to the Select Comfort high end air beds. I could tell in the store that this bed fit the best. The Tempurpedic bed didn't ...

Select Comfort Beds – What is your Sleep Number?

by djgeiger Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jun 16 '05
Pros: Easy to assemble and a great night's sleep.
Cons: Have not found any cons - even unplugged it stays aired up.
I never even pondered sleeping by number. Still seems to be a strange concept. The Select Comfort 4000 ended up being exceptional with unexpected results. I use to sleep on a fluffy pillow top and it had to be top of the line. Frankly, I felt like the ...

My Sleep Number is 35; She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed Sleeps Best at 50

by royalcrowncola , May 10 '06
Pros: Very comfortable sleep system, GREAT SERVICE.
Cons: The air system is very noisy when adjusting your sleep number
On a recent cross-country car trip I noticed Mrs. Royalcrowncola suddenly punching up some numbers in her cell-phone. She was—she explained—dialing the 800 number she just heard on satellite radio…a number to get information about the Select ...

Comfortable bed but...

by jgilliam1955 , Feb 27 '07
Pros: very comfortable bed
Cons: very cheap foundation
This king size bed was replacing a 7 year old queen size Select comfort. The queen never gave us any trouble. When we moved the queen into the guest room the bed was just like brand new. When I unpacked the king foundation I was surprised to see such a ...

Select Comfort - A Glorified Air Mattress?

by cendant , Jul 23 '06
Pros: -adjustable firmness -lightweight and easy to transport -gives me a good night's sleep
Cons: -Costly -moving parts that might break -requires electricity -smells at first -developed a leak
My wife and I got married at the end of May 2006 and one of the first pieces of “married” furniture we needed was a bed. But not just any bed, a king-sized bed that would take all of the king-sized sheets and comforter we’d gotten at ...

dont know where to start, NOT happy with my personal bed...

by yume , Dec 04 '08
Pros:  first 6 months, It did improve my back problems tremendously. nice sleep. better sleep
Cons:  uneven chambers, gap in the middle, partner movement, too firm regardless of setting
I have to say my husband and I we're NOT satisfied with our sleep number bed. The cons out weighed to pros unfortunately. Maybe if we went with a Queen size 5000 or greater I would be in slumber heaven right now. A few other people I know absolutely ...

Beware shoddy construction

by semisweetchick , Feb 24 '07
Pros: Nice being able to adjust firmness on an as-needed basis
Cons: Extremely poor quality construction materials wear out within the first two years
My husband and I have owned a Select Comfort king-sized pillow top bed for a little over a year now. Out of the box, the pump was defective, and it took quite a bit of wrangling on the phone with customer service for them to finally agree to overnight us ...

Quality below expectations

by HTMLSpinnr , Jun 09 '07
Pros: More comfortable that most spring mattresses.
Cons: Terrible durability, needed to replace bladders and pump more than once. Trough effect.
We've owned this bed for a few months short of 2 years. In that time, we've had to replace the air pump, and one of the bladders. The pump came cross-wired. You'd inflate the left side, but the wired remote would read the "Sleep Number" (pressure) from ...

Good review???-must be a new purchase!

by ldona24 , Oct 02 '08
Pros: There is nothing positive to say.
Cons:

Dealing with a company that does not stand behind it's product.

We purchased our Select Comfort mattress in April, 2005. The pump that inflates or deflates the mattress to reach the correct sleep number stopped working fifteen months after we purchased the bed. Select Comfort replaced the pump. Fifteen months later, ...

Sleep Number bed 4000 model wouldn't buy again.

by kls761 , Dec 04 '08
Pros: Easy set up.
Cons: Uncomfortable.  Expensive.  Uncomfortable (bears repeating).
I researched this bed ad nauseum before buying because of the price.  I'm overweight and have some back problems but nothing too bad.  I was just looking for a bed that I could make firm on the nights I needed that and soft on the nights I ...

Don't believe the ads

by linden77 , Apr 07 '07
Pros: Pretty easy to assemble
Cons: Big valley in the middle of the bed
I hurt my back a few years ago and one day went and bought a top of the line inner spring mattress, which worked for me but was too firm for my wife. After a few years of feeling bad for my wife's discomfort (and my back had healed up) and hearing ad ...
