Serta Perfect Night mattress flunks - twice in five years by tecdex ,Nov 19 '03
Pros: Serta stands behind the product and will replace ever failure. Cons: Serta Won't deliver! Not even when they are wrong. Shame.
In 1998 I purchased a Serta Perfect Night mattress, king size with double pillow top. It was a 'Flip Mattress' Flipping was dangerous. Broke two lamps trying to flip it by myself. In three years of use it developed 2 1/2" deep body pockets. Sertas independent agent measured and judged the mattress as a failure. Serta replaced the mattress with a 'No Flip' Perfect Night mattress. In two years and two days Sertas independent agent measures and found this mattress had failed. Once again, Serta agreed to replace the mattress. Plus shipping each time thet were replaced. That's where they get you - over and over again. Like sticking pins in you. It's bad enough that the Top of The Line Serta Perfect Night fails - twice. Perfect Night is NOT so perfect.
Serta's "Perfect Night" - what a joke by missbuffie ,Jan 24 '05
Pros: It was comfortable when we first got it Cons: After less than 2 years the middle is a giant sinkhole.
After less than two years, our Serta "Perfect Night" mattress sags badly in the middle. The salesman assured us it was a higher-end product and worth the extra money. If I could somehow cling to the edges I might be able to sleep but the depression down the middle makes that impossible. We did a lot of research and thought we were getting a quality product. Please don't bother buying it!
Perfect Back Pain Encourager by opinion2007 ,Oct 28 '06
Pros: Company replaced first failed mattress Cons: Loss of integrity of the mattress
Not comfortable because of the body sagging
I insisted on buying a Serta mattress because I had loved my previous mattress which lasted 15 years. I purchased the top of the line pillow-top--a Mastercraft. After a year of relative discomfort, the mattress failed when a coil burst through the side.
I contacted the manager of the company where I had purchased it, and he said they would replace it. A few weeks later my new mattress arrived: a bottom of the line, discontinued, cheap mattress. I brought this fact to his attention; he told me that the mattress had "accidentally" been delivered to my house. Next he delivered the "Perfect Night, Medallion Collection: Bannister" mattress.
We kept it, but within months, we had body indentions; flipping didn't help.
The corners are also sagging. We cannot get a good night's sleep on this mattress. I had no back problems before, but I'm now stiff each morning from trying not to roll to the middle; I can no longer sleep on my back. Both my husband and I are stiff and sore each morning; this soreness disappears on our guest beds and in hotels. What has happened to quality control at Serta? I am very disappointed.
Pros: Slept like a baby the first few months Cons: Sleeping in a hole is horrible and hot.
First 3 days were horrible, because we got roped in to the Serta diaper/cover that cause to sweat terribly all night. We replaced it with a cloth cover and it was better.
The next 3 month were great until the holes developed and I wake up every morning with the worst back pain. We have a king pillow top that we can't flip(WHAT A GIP). We tried turning from end to end, which helped the first time, because my feet made less of a dent. Hoping, that when it came time to turn it, the memory foam would have lived up to it's name. Unfortunately at some point in time, our memory foam developed Alzeimers and forgot everything(never came back). We have called Serta but we are experiencing the same hang ups as everyone else. I want to thank everyone for the comments on the replacement mattress hang ups. We are probably just going to bite the bullet and buy a new mattress.
Pros: none Cons: Mattress does't stay firm. Sags quickly. Hard to contact real people in Customer Service.
Purchased mattress set Memorial Day weekend and within two months a definite "gully" was created - enough that both my husband and I slept on the outer reinforced edges for comfort. We contacted customer service in early September as the hole continues to deepen. Serta customer service has not been helpful,is totally disorganized, and has been quite rude. We had to pay $35 for an inspection in October and are still waiting to hear results.
Perfect Night? For a verrrrrry short time by myrnaag32073 ,Jul 19 '04
Pros: None Cons: A lot of money for a bed that might be comfortable for 1 year.
We purchased a Perfect Night in Dec of 01 and loved it. Then as time wore on we found ourselves sleeping in a trough. We called Serta about a year ago (it was less than 2 years old) and they gave us the same line they gave others who have written. "We don't warranty personal comfort." In other words, any sagging or pot holes which cause unbearable pain are not covered. We now find ourselves turning this big mistake of a mattress every three days just to get one night of half decent sleep. I am about to attempt to get some warranty satisfaction by calling again and trying to get someone out to look at this thing but we are not holding our breath.
We are not big people. My husband weighs about 190 and I weigh about 116. If this bed can't take our weight, I hate to think what happens to the average American out there. Would we recommend this bed? "NEVER."
Serta Perfect Night Eurotop - WONDERFUL!!! by setterlvr ,Jun 10 '04
Pros: Great nights sleep, comfortable, soft, but firm. Not too pricey. Cons: Deep mattress, you may need to purchase deep sheets.
I recently purchased a Serta Perfect Night Eurotop "Kings Bridge" Cal-King mattress at LA Mattress. We spent a great deal of time in the store trying out all the upper end mattresses; Simmons, Spring Air, Chattem and Wells, Serta, etc.
The Simmons were too soft, the Spring Airs were all too firm, but the Serta Perfect Night was just right.
We've had the mattress several weeks now and it's the best mattress I've owned. Previously I had a very expensive Spring Air that after 15 years was just breaking down.
The Serta type coils are made differently than most beds and we found them to be simply more comfortable than the other brand of beds.
I had read the reviews on this website and those opinions did make a difference in the bed we ultimately selected. The Perfect Night is the top-of-the-line Serta mattress and we are VERY pleased with it.
It was not too pricey, our Cal-King was purchased for $1,700 on sale. (Original price was $2,400.)
Give this mattress a try at your mattress store - we love ours!!!
Serta Perfect DAY - NOT! by jaxflygirl88 ,Sep 16 '07
Pros: pretty mattress Cons: too expensive, sags, body indentations...uncomfortable
I bought a serta top of the line Perfect Day mattress in February 07. The store was going out of business so I got it half price, orig. $2500. At first I loved it, was sleeping by myself for a few months due to my husband being deployed. When he got back in May, we both had the worst night's sleep ever. The bed was sagging in the middle. We added support beams to our bed and that helped that problem however now on my side it gets body indentations by morning and I wake up w/ my arm asleep and terrible low back pain! I hate this bed! Moved it to the guest room and am now back to using our 15 year old Simmons Beautyrest. much better!
I have low back disc herniations and think this bed is not firm enough for me. (the serta)
I called Serta and told them all my problems but they say it is a Comfort Issue and not warranted. :(
I feel they should have given me an option to exchange it especially due to the fact that the store went out of business.
Serta Perfect Sleeper is HORRIBLE by eugenegordon ,Mar 26 '07
Pros: None Cons: I don't have the amount of time I would need to fill this out.
It was great for the first month and now, 3 months later, I am sleeping in my guest bedroom because this bed has CRIPPLED ME. I am waiting for their joke inspection but have decided after reading these reviews that I am just going to buy a new bed tomorrow and call American Express and invoke my buyers protection plan so I get my money back on the Serta.
I might as well be sleeping in a bowl of Jello. The Serta offers no support whatsoever, I can't say enough bad things about this mattress.
DO NOT BUY A SERTA and if you do pick up a wheelchair the same day.
Pros: Very comfortable and afforddable Cons: I don't see any so far ...
Hi,
My wife and I bought a Serta Perfect Sleeper Queen size at American Mattresses 4 months ago. After looking around for several months, we decided to go ahead and try these mattresses because we felt very comfortable shopping at the store and we felt the sales person was very knowledgeable. The truth is that, from the very first night, we could feel the difference and now we both sleep better and longer. I never woke up with neck pain whatsoever and just for that, I love my Serta. American Matress also gave us a very good deal and a 10 Year Warranty that is nothing but peace of mind. We are very happy and we are buying the same one as a gift for our parents.
Serta does not honor warranty by jdc_2099 ,Nov 30 '04
Pros: None Cons: Bad bed, will not honor warranty
Our Serta bed after a few years developed deep body indentations that began hurting our backs. The warranty should have allowed us to get all our money back. Instead, Serta refused to honor the warranty claiming that we abused the mattress. I strongly advise against buying any Serta mattress after this experience
Pros: Absolutely nothing Cons: Absolutely everything. Don't buy Serta or Penneys!
I've experienced significant back problems since purchasing a $1000+ Serta mattress and box springs through Penneys. Neither Penneys nor the Serta rep offered any help. In desperation, I flipped the mattress, although one is not supposed to turn it over. To my relief, I awoke without a back ache for the first time in months. I'd encourage others stuck with these sub-standard mattresses to try it. How sad that Serta markets these inferior products and Penneys sells them. The warranty is worthless.
Very Disappointed with Serta Perfect Night by piacere2 ,Nov 07 '06
Pros: Currently none. Hoping Serta warranty claims process will restore my faith in their company. Cons: Sags and sink holes not only in the middle but also on the sides.
I purchased the queen-sized Serta mattress in late 2005 and in less than four months the side I slept on was noticeably lower than the other half. I noticed that if I rolled over to the other side of the bed I could actually feel myself having to roll uphill. I rotated the mattress and found some renewed resistance but only from the areas that were formerly at my feet. Likewise, this renewed resistance only lasted a couple months. Just under one year later, no matter how I sleep on the mattress, I am either in an old sink-hole or am only a couple of days away from making a new one. The sages occur in the middle and along the sides.
For the record, I only weigh 175lbs; not nearly heavy enough to justify the sags. Further, this Serta mattress has always been used with a box spring and a frame with corner and center posts.
I am attempting to contact Serta to discuss warranty options but from reading other posts on this site it sounds like I am out about $1500.
Pros: Nice Handles on sides. Cons: Sags like pot holes in the road.
We purchased a Serta Perfect Night (king mattress) Jan. 2003.Before it was one year old
it sagged more than 4 inches. In Oct 2004 Serta replaced the first one.Now the second one is as bad or worse than the first,SO we are in the process of a claim with Serta.I would never recommend any one buy a Perfect Night SERTA MATTRESS.
