Pros: Great picture, loads of controls and connections... Cons: Where's the under $500 blu-ray player, Sharp???
I put a lot of work into choosing an HDTV. My friends say it was worth it. I've owned the LC52DU92 (shortened here to damned good tv) since a cold day in February of this year. Just to see the look on the faces of my friends and neighbors when ...

Pros: Picture quality, easy controls and setup, unit weight Cons: Screen easily smudged, inadequate sound, minor setup limitations.
Migrating from old CRT TV to a flat-screen HDTV, I wanted to get the best value with enough connectors and controls to support future expansion. Sharp Aquos LC52D92U appeared to have the best combination of price, size, picture quality, connectivity, and ...

Excellent TV, No banding
by alehouse ,May 17 '07
Pros: Excellent picture, nice style and no glare. Cons: Non so far
We have had the LC 52D92U for three days now. I have been very impressed with TV. My wife was a little hesitant with spending that much on a TV. She now says she loves it.
I compared several high end flat panels. Plasma and LCD. I didnt like the reflections produced on glass with plasma units. The TV is in my living room, so a dark media room is not an option. Even when its sunny outside I dont see any reflection on this LCD, except around the piano black flame. Which is an assume finish. That and I am also not trying to watch the frame, so the reflection is no problem. I also didnt want to spend this kind of money on a TV that cant display 1080p. I know some plasma units can display 1080p, but at this time they are Very expensive.
The audio is not the best, but sure beats the Pioneer RP we had.
I have played around with some settings and recommend turning the enhanced black option OFF. Its on by default. Also, turn down the Color Temp.
I highly recommend this TV for anybody looking to spend the money.

Huge size, with awesome pictures
by yadaking ,Oct 20 '07
Pros: Picture, black, size Cons: prize, long bulky remote
I got this from Electronics express for a great price via Amazon. Very good service.
TV itself is gorgeous. I don't experience any black crush or banding. The sound is pretty decent for the small speakers. Color/pictures/black/fast actions are all excellent. Well worth the money!
Lots of inputs, very versatile! Too bad there is only 1 RF input, no PIP.
Overall, highly recommended TV. It's a little more expensive than competing models. But this is going to last you about 10 yrs. Well worth the extra money.

WHERE IS THE BASS?
by pontiac1 ,Nov 28 '07
Pros: PICTURE Cons: THE SOUND- THE SOUND- THE SOUND
OVERALL A GOOD CHOICE BUT THE SOUND FOR THIS EXPENSIVE TV IS DOWN RIGHT POOR. YOU WOULD THINK, BIGGER THE SCREEN BIGGER THE SOUND, NOT IN THIS CASE. MY 26INCH SHARP AQUOS IS INCREDIBLE, THE SOUND "BASS" IS GREAT... WHAT HAPPENED SHARP?? I DONT WANT TO LISTEN TO MY BOSE LIFE STYLE48IV
ALL THE TIME FOR THE SOUND.

We love it
by terrykaren99 ,Sep 14 '07
Pros: Clear/bright picture. Good sound quality. Picture switches between HD and boxed automatically. Easy controls. Cons: Shiny Piano black frame - would have like to have it in matte.
Great picture, terrific colors, good sound quality, easy to use remote and controls.
Would have preferred a matte frame instead of the shiny "Piano black" but it's still a great looking and performing TV.
We purchased this TV a few weeks ago after a great deal of research. We are very pleased with all aspects of the set.
You must have HD service to really enjoy this TV. Without it the picture is spread across the screen which results in a grainy picture - still better than a smaller set but a nuisance. Once you go HD you'll wish all programming was in HD.
Perfect for a large room with a lot of light.
Some people report "banding" with large LCD screens but not this TV. The picture is even in color. Blacks colors are black.

Unbelievable TV
by dzrkn ,May 25 '07
Pros: 1:15000contrast, 4ms-Rendering, 1080p, exceptional saturation, 3HDMI, awesome design, easy to use, overall highest quality. Cons: NONE so far.
Most unexpected and stunning experience that can come from a screen. HD on this particular TV is unbelievable.
Colors, 1:15000 contrast, 4ms rendering. These are features of no other TV on the market. Sony, which i assumed to be the best doesn't come even close with it's specs to Sharp Aquos LC52D92U. Fortunately i ended up with Sharp.
The Best Purchase I've made ever. Overall highest quality.
This TV maybe pricey, it's worth every penny.
Strongly recommended.
There was a previous comment regarding sound that comes as standard with the tv.
- Dude don't be ridiculous!!!
leaving TV like this with standard speakers it's a crime.
(by the way - congrats on choosing "bose") - you have no idea about sound.

Great Picture but less than satisfactory sound
by regs4 ,May 22 '07
Pros: Picture quality and colors are OUTSTANDING! Cons: Sound, particularly bass is not satisfactory for such a costly unit.
Fabulous picture. Wonderfully vibrant colors, some blurring on sports action, but not enough to bother me.
Sound is a disappointment after giving up a Sony XBR 34 which had excellent sound. Bass was so distorted I had to have speaker replaced. Also volume had to be cranked way up, just below 60 to get good dynamics. Anything below midway was akin to having the mute button on. The bass on the new speaker is pretty much the smae bad sound heard on the original. Must be very bad design.. Recently hooked up some Bose partner speakers and they help boost the sound.
