Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, inexpensive, great features Cons: Menu difficulty, LCD display looks funny at different angles.
When I was in the market for a new video camera, I wanted something light, easy to use, and no more viewfinders. With a limited budget, my options for finding a reasonably priced state-of-the-art toy, I opted for the next best thing. I found my Sharp...

Pros: Extra space in battery compartment for a second battery. Easy to use, and flexible. Cons: Average battery life. Cannot hook up to a PC.
This camera was a very good purchase for me. The controls and menus are easy and straight foward, yet very powerful and fun. Picture quality is excellent, sound is good, the digital 400X zoom is fun to play with, although image stability in digital zoom...

Pros: Lightweight, ease of use for people like me who are not "electronically inclined" Cons: Handle is awkwardly positioned. Battery does not last long.
I bought this camcorder from Home Shopping Network for $249.00 and have yet to see it anywhere cheaper. It is very easy to use. I have had it for two weeks and still haven't had to read the instruction booklet. The replacement tapes are inexpensive...

GREAT FEATURES
by piano123 ,Sep 30 '04
Pros: Fun and easy! small and lightweight Cons: none, really
I bought this camera for myself, and 2 others had them given to them as gifts after seeing mine! Has many features and special effects, can record in low light, mine has a "still picture" feature. Easy, easy to use once you learn all the special effects, but not needed for simple recording. Easy to edit and make copies on a VCR tape for family and friends, and great to review on TV-I like this type more than others with adapter tape
Cons: Cannot hook up to a TV without special plugs that come with camera, I leave mine hooked up all the time, but can always make a copy for viewing elsewhere. My battery must need to be replaced as it doesn't hold the charge very long

this camera takes great video...
by harry_balzac_dt3000 ,Nov 02 '02
this camera takes great video when there's medium to high lighting, low light is grainy and at night forget it. The zoom is nice at 16x optical and the digital is good up to 20x then it gets really cheesy. This camera doesn't have a light or night shot capabilities. I'm buying a sony for night shots but I'll continue to use this one as a second angle. This camera is great for it's price but is becoming out dated, sharp needs night shot to survive in the future.

by bobby_teenager_dt3000 ,May 26 '02
The Sharp VL-AH150U is good for anyone.I had fun makeing videos simply because it is so easy. You can hook it up to your vcr and create a vhs tape in minutes. The camra includes advanced effects like strobe(take 5 frames per second), sepia(makes it look old)negitive(black is white & white is black), 16:9(wide screen), stretch and slim.
