Sony CLIE PEG-S360: Outdated and out to pasture

by Gr8ful Gr8ful is a Lead on Epinions in Computer Hardware, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Jan 14 '06
Pros: Good battery life, easy sync, infrared beam
Cons: No color, no modem, no wireless, hard to read display, no backlight
My wife and I acquired this handheld in 2003, from a friend who had just purchased a new CLIE. I had been using my C ompaq iPAQ H3760 PocketPC and was immediately turned off by the monochrome display. However my wife ...

CLIE S360 : A real bargain Palm PDA... does Sony rule the low-end Palm market?

by yusakugo Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, May 12 '02
Pros: 16MB RAM, 4MB ROM, MemoryStick expansion, Jog Dial, Cheap
Cons: Suspect Build Quality, Lack of Accessories, No real Mac support
It's that time of year again in medical residency programs, the chief residents are being transitioned and given brand new Palms to start their chiefdom... the pediatrics programs asked me about low cost Palm PDAs and my recommendations. They wanted a...

Something simple plus professional equals the Clie PEG-S360.

by lavoisier Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, May 11 '02
Pros: 16MB DRAM, Flash ROM, Li-Ion battery, jog dial and more.
Cons: Memory Stick and lack of decent accessories.
When looking for a handheld for around $200, many people would think of many sacrifices. Well that's what happens when you buy any Handspring handheld or any of the Palm m100 series handhelds that are not really designed for the professional user, as...

Gee whiz, the S360 is a great value!

by savoirfaire , Jan 12 '03
Pros: Ample memory (16MB RAM); one of the faster 33mHz PDAs; rechargeable battery; low cost
Cons: No color (if you consider it a con); cradle not included; no built-in Mac compatibility!
The world of PDAs is getting crowded; not only do users have to decide whether to go with the PalmOS or a Windows based PDA, but they have to struggle with the choice of Clies vs. Palms vs. Handsprings and whether they really want a built in phone or...

I'm very happy with it

by mitch528 , Aug 07 '02
Pros: Great screen, nice form, lots of nice software included
Cons: Included cover is very flimsy, must buy cradle separately, power button is clumsy.
I upgraded to the Clie S360 from a Handspring Visor Deluxe about three months ago, and I am really happy overall.

The jog dial is helpful when trying to find something in your address book with one hand (like while you are on your cell), and...

A great value but more functional than fun

by sstexas , Sep 03 '02
Pros: 16 MB of Ram , Univeral power supply , rechargable batteries
Cons: Black and White Screen , glare on screen, Difficut to see in low light
This Sony PDA is a great value for some. It serves my needs and the price was right. I recommend it, but not to everyone. The unit is very functional , and is good value for the money . If you have more cash to spend you can get a unit that is alot...

Good machine for first-timers and intermediate users.

by cathleen1977 , May 20 '02
Pros: Lots of memory. Jogdial rocks. Screen and backlight great. Not a battery hog.
Cons: Doesn't come with a cover for memory stick slot. Sony cover is flimsy, pops off.
This is my first PDA. I bought it after doing much price shopping and comparing. I didn't want to spend over $200, I just didn't see the point. My purposes are to keep my phone and address information updated and to keep my appointments straight.

Great basic PDA

by syau , Apr 28 '03
Pros: Value(1 year ago), memory stick compatible
Cons: Switching between applications is a little slow
It is almost exactly a year ago since I bought the Clie S360. It is amazing for the price I paid a year ago($180), I can almost get a color Palm OS PDA now. I contemplated about replacing my trusty S360 with a fancier color model all the time. But...

Great first PDA

by verbal11 , Jul 22 '02
Pros: 16MB RAM, price, style, jog dial, USB
Cons: Limited accessories. Comes with seperate travel sync and power cables rather than a cradle.
This is my first PDA and I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. I did a lot of research before purchasing this PDA and I finally selected the CLIE 360 for the following reasons:
1.) 16MB Ram (more than any other PDA in this price range) ...

Entry level price with above entry level options!

by SurveyPaid , Jun 12 '02
Pros: Memory expansion, Jog dial, Loads of built in memory
Cons: No Cradle
When I started my hunt for a Palm, I was not sure if I wanted an entry level or power user palm. I needed it to do data logging for my car and was not sure if I would use it for anything else so I wanted to go cheap.

After doing a little...

The Sony Clie: A good starter Palm
by karrie1 ,Jul 01 '04
Pros: Great organizational tool.
Cons: Need to use a plastic sheet on your screen as early as possible.
I was given the Sony Clie a couple years ago as a gift. The Clie is very easy to use. I was able to sync the Sony up with my Microsoft Outlook program and just recently, with my Yahoo account. There are many free (and pay) programs out there (try tucows.com) which you can easily add to your Sony. I love that anything I want, I can save to my Palm, including excel files and word documents. Important documents, dates and time-burning games are just a click away anywhere I can bring my Palm. I can sync up websites daily and read them on the bus home. Make sure you use some sort of screen sheet so you don't ruin the sensitivity of your text area. This model is black and white only. Sony's memory sticks are compatible with the unit.

A Very Good Palm Pilot
by ryan102990 ,Apr 01 '04
Pros: everything except
Cons: no compact flash slot
I purchased this palm pilot about a year ago and I am still using it. This is a very good palm pilot for everyone. The only cons I could find was the lack of a compact flash slot (a memory device to save files) so you can't add wireless Internet.
