Pros: Resolution, build quality, picture quality, features, price, very fast Cons: Uses proprietary Memory Stick media, noise at ISO 400, not much improvement over 5-6MP cameras

Cyber-Shot DSC-W7 7.2-Megapixel camera for $307, which is a good price for a 7.2-Megapixel camera with good optics and performance. Photos The photos of the camera as well as ...
Pros: LCD Screen, High Mega pixels, Easy to Focus, Multi burst Function,Modes for Different Situations. Cons: Takes some effort to understand the Manual in full, Needs Memory Stick, Extra Batteries.
"OH MY GOD..IT'S SO BIG!!!" If you plan on owning a Sony dsc-w7 anytime in the near future, believe me,those words will be echoed back at you each and every time you allow a non dsc-w7 user to snap a photo with your camera. I'm referring of course to ...
Pros: Bright colors, fast shots, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens Cons: Could have used greater than 3X zoom
I bought this camera, because I killed my last SONY digital point and shoot (DSC-P72 3.2 megapixel). Prior to that I shot with a CANON Rebel SLR (film ewww!), but the point is I know "something" about taking pictures, but I could probably fit that ...
Pros: Size, not too small, pocketable yet big enough to hold steady, well built. Cons: A little heavy, red eye reduction slows photo taking.
Purchased used for $400.00 Cdn. with a 256 card to supplement my Nikon D70 SLR. new prices with taxes would have been double in Sept 2005! Sturdy body, quick on, has a view finder and large 2.5 in. LCD display. Lens subtracts into body and has a built ...
Worst experience about Sony Digital Camera by eopinions6000 ,Nov 17 '06
Pros: Black Spot on the LCD screen Cons: no more sony products for me and anyone I know.
I paid 380$ at Compusa 2005 thanksgiving. A month ago, the LCD screen showed black spot. I sent for repair, at first, they said they can fixed it and it is under warranty. Later they called me and saying it is not under warranty and I need to pay 180 $ to fix it. They are saying that a sand was in it and was blocking the lens. And they can't open the lens, need to change the new lens. So how does the sand get into the lens if they can't even open it? To me, that is the quality issue. How could the sand get into it? For paying that money for that? I will not recomend any of my friends to buy any more sony products any more.
Pros: all of the above...the end product are pictures of unbelievable clarity Cons: none...no kidding, folks...none..this is replacing my pro Canon outfit...
wonderfully laid out body...got the black finish...silver not as well done....excellent controls...speedy response time..incredible Carl Zeiss lens...flash lights up entire room which to me is unbelieveable for a small camera..
Pros: Speed, Large LCD screen, Video mode at 30fps and 640x480 Cons: Small eyepiece; Memory Stick Pro required; Limited AE Modes
I've recently upgraded from the DSCW5, following some exposure issues and a return / upgrade. The DSCW7 has performed flawlessly and I would highly recommend the camera. The DSCW7 is almost identical to the DSCW5. My complete review, for both the DSCW5 and DSCW7, can be found at the following URL:
My 4-Star overall rating is moreso related to the exposure issues with the previous DSCW5 and a potential systematic problem with the camera .... my previous rating was a full 5-Star! My experience with the DSCW7 is a full 5-Star as well!
Pros: Clearness in the photos, accuracy of LCD to print Cons: Red eye reducer forces photos to take longer to snap
2 months ago I received this camera as a gift from my family and friends. Wow! I am impressed!!! I had been upgraded from a Sony Cybershot 3.2 to this camera and am amazed at the clarity in these photos. The photos do not lose any sharpness when zooming in on a subject and the photos print out beautifully. I also love the fact that I have such a huge LCD screen. The biggest drawback to the previous camera is when the photos were printed, details that you thought would be in the photos were lost since the LCD was so small. The only downside is using the red eye reducer photos take a few seconds longer to snap then without the red eye reducer. Overall though, this camera is perfect. I had wanted a good camera before my baby was born and now I have one.
there is a problem with the lens in this cam. It wont retract and it stops working. It looked like a great cam initially but i had to burn my fingers when it stopped working 3 months after i bought it.
Great beginner/advanced camera! by ultrascope ,Aug 29 '05
Pros: AA alkaline/rechargeable capable, excellent lens system, great LCD screen as well as manual view finder. Cons: A tad bit heavy. May be cumbersome for larger hands.
It's difficult to to provide enough praise for this digital camera. It has plenty of operational features without being overbearing and complicated. Sony uses one of the best lenses on the market. And with the use of one of their high-capacity, high-speed Memory Stick memory cards, you can enjoy care-free picture taking for a very long time.
Pros: 7.0 Megapixel for under $400 bucks, easy to get a great shot at anytime. Cons: After three weeks the lens was getting stuck and would need to be restarted.
Very easy to use for your point and shooters and has a boat load a features for the pro shooter. I bought this camera for a beach vacation. It takes great pictures whit 7.0 Megapixel
Nifty Little Camera Takes WOW Photos by joybelle3 ,Jun 04 '05
Pros: Solid, comfortable to hold, easy to use, great photos, faster shutter speed than earlier Sonys. Cons: Software
This little camera is easily held in the palm of your hand. It has a large LCD of 2.5" which is a great improvement over previous cameras. The controls are easier to operate than those in the "P" series because there is a little dial on the top of the camera to quickly select the photo options. The photos are fantastic. I have photographed an ant on a strawberry blossom, sharp clear landscapes and a great one of my son laughing. I am very happy with this camera except for one thing. The software does not work with Windows 2000 Pro. You have to download a different "Install Sheild" before the software can load properly without application errors. No problems so far on Windows XP though. One thing I miss is the selectable upload software that was available with the "P" series. With this software you have to be able to load the whole thing or nothing.
Pros: excellent pictures and easy to use Cons: none
I purchased this camera based on other reviews which rated the camera very high in delivering quality pictures. I bought the camera prior to a vacation in Europe. The camera delivered excellent pictures and was very easy to use.
Pros: Such a great camera to work with and allot of fun. Cons: It uses AAA batteries but can take rechargeable ones.
This camera is by far the best I have ever used! Although it may seem that it has allot of features they are very handy. I have had the camera for over a year never had a problem with it and the pictures come out great. The prize is descent and there are probably many other cheaper cameras out in the market, the quality that you get is greater than anything.
Great camera, great value, Ideal for those looking for a quality snappy camera. by maxieboy ,Nov 21 '05
Pros: Fast start up
Battery life
Quality of image
Cheap at £240! Cons: A little slippy in the hand.
Sexy looking.
All you need to know about this camera is:
It starts up quickly - you are less likely to lose a picture.
A 2100 pair of batteries last for over a days FULL shooting.
The picture quality is amazing - you'll have buy a proper SLR to ask more.
7.2 Mpixels is the next logical step upwards - don't be fooled by ludicrous comments about "not much better than a 5 Mpxl" image - to increase quality, increased Mpxls is basic.
The largish display is really good.
Memory stick, memory schnick, you have a USB lead, get over it. Card readers in photo systems read them and they aren't expensive.
You can upgrade this camera by adding macro and tele lenses for not a huge amount. If you want these features, they aren't expensive when combined with this body.
