Pros: Stylish, compact, fast, good performance, features, long battery life, optics Cons: No superwide angle, no image stabilization, slight red-eye, proprietary Sony Memory Stick Duo
Digital cameras are getting cheaper, smaller and work better than ever. I picked up the 7.2-Megapixel Sony DSC-W70 for $220. Not only does this camera look cool, it works well too. What Is Sony DSC-W70? The Sony DSC-W70 is a 7.2-Megapixel ...
Pros: Amazing sleek & compact camera. Does everything you can think of and more. Cons: I haven't found anything yet...
My son talked me into getting one of these. Not sure if he wants to borrow it from me, but I suspect he does. He educated me on it, since I am a newbie when it comes to digital cameras. The first thing I noticed is that this silver Sony camera looks very ...
Pros: Great features in a small package Cons: Some essential accessories are not provided standard
The DSC-W70 is available in Silver and Black, and is in the middle of the DSC family of cameras from Sony. Other cameras in this family offer lower resolution (6MP for the W30 and W50) or higher resolution (8MP for the W100). Obviously, price points are ...
Pros: Clear, sharp, high quality photos with little hassle. Cons: Automatic Lens cover fails to open/close after a year.
Updated: July 9, 2008 - Correction on low light performance My wife has owned this camera for over a year. It has been kept in good condition and to my knowledge has never been dropped. Until recently it was a super performer. More on that in a ...
Pros: Fantastic picture quality and camera settings, great look, small and light, big viewing screen Cons: The fact that after about a year the camera was kaput.
I purchased this camera for my boyfriend's birthday in May 2006. The digital camera he had was a Canon Elph (2 megapixels, I think - maybe even less) that I purchased for him in 2001 - so it was certainly time for an upgrade. I LOVE Sony - Sony has ...
Pros: Small, 7.2 Megapixels, movies, long battery, many features Cons: a little blurry at times
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W70 digital camera is small, light, easy to use, with tons of features. The turn of a dial gives you a description of what mode your camera is in. The lens retracts and comes out quickly when you turn it on. The overall size is ...
Pros: Takes clear picture, zooms far, small/compact, HUGE view screen, great selection of options. Cons: Longer delay from pressing button to image capture, video blurry when subject is moving.
I bought this product for two reasons. 1) I really needed a digi-cam, and 2) I could put it on my Dell credit card. My research consisted of one trip to Walmart where I zoomed in, zoomed out, and took a picture with every camera that was on display, ...
Pros: Fits in your pocket, price, 7 Pixels, easy upload, large view screen, lithium battery. Cons: No cons as of yet.
I bought the camera becuase it was 7 pixels, fit into my pocket and cost @ $300.00. I barely read the directions and after using it for one night, I felt like a profesional photograper! The night mode is amazing. Oh, I got drunk that night and dropped it and it still worked (thank Ghad).
Camera worked until 3 days after warranty expired by infidex ,Jan 10 '07
Pros: Great camera while it worked Cons: Stopped working 3 days after warranty expired.
Bought this camera, used it for a while, loved it while it worked, but then it died suddenly one day. The power would not come on at all, took it in for repair and they told me 175-225, so I opted to buy a new camera instead. I love sony camera's but there is a lot of these floating around on the internet that are refurbished with no garaunty that they work. Sony is a good company, I would just steer clear of this model, I bought a sony to replace it and have had no problems so far (plus i bought the extended warranty this time). Also, this camera probably on took 200-300 pics in it's lifetime, so it was barely used when it stopped working.
Sony Cybershot DSC-W70 Digital Camera by lindakratz ,Nov 17 '06
Pros: picture quality is great, small and easy to use Cons: none
I got this camera last year and have used it so much. I also bought the underwater case and have had great fun with that. The pictures are very clear. I have blown some up to poster size and they are still crystal clear. Using the zoom sometimes makes the pictures fuzzy if you aren't on a tripod, so I usually take the picture without using the zoom and then crop the photo and then zoom in on the picture for a clear photo. We went on a cruise and I was shooting pictures of wildlife and blew them up and you would have thought I was next to the animal. It is easy to use and easy to download to the computer. Buy extra memory cards and batteries. You will be using it a lot.
Pros: Very simple and has every option a novice could ask for. Cons: You will need a bigger memory card and our batteries had to be replaced.
This camera was bought for us by my mother in law as a Christmas gift. We've had it now for a year or so.
It replaced another digital camera, and I was absolutely amazed with all of the new options it came with. We've not used our previous camera (which I was actually fine with until we got the new one) once since we received this one. You want black and white? Sepia? Negative.....you name it. And ours came with a program called picasso which also allows you change any picture into black and white, sepia..ect...as well as crop and countless other options. over all, we are very pleased and use it on a very regular basis.
It died after only two weeks. I got the run around from Sony so I went to a local repair shop.
The repair shop said they had seen lots of problems with sony products. Way more than others. I'll not buy Sony again.
They also said they always go bad just after the warranty expires. Not good.
First the lens would not go all the way back in. Then the screen turned all white from time to time.
The picture quality was also poor. It seemed to be grainy.
It went through batteries faster than I could buy them.
It looked nice but I won't buy again based on looks. I'll do my homework first.
Awesome Camera.. Worth it. by chalsara ,Jan 16 '07
Pros: Clear pictures, Stylish, great price, advanced features, just really easy to use. Cons: Need a lot of memory card space. Also, the zoom could be better..
Camera's a great size; my other was bulkier & it was harder to take steadier pictures. Taking blur-free pictures is easy with this one.. I'm glad I replaced it.
love the camera, but too many problems by nyblondie ,Mar 18 '07
Pros: easy to use, design Cons: too many random issues!
I've used Sony Cybershots only, and love the type of camera. They are very easy to use. However, im having so many problems with this one!! I had it maybe 3 months and had to send it back to Sony 2 or 3 times already. The screen keeps turning white randomly, the battery life is pretty much random, and the shutter stopped going all the way in. Sony sent it back to me within a week or so usually fixed, but this last time it wouldn't even turn on!!! I'm calling them soon for a totally new camera or a refund.
Others with this camera don't have this problem. Maybe I just got a dud. Oh well, this is my experience.
