Pros: HD picture quality, on-screen menus, connection options Cons: dark images on some some programming, Picture quality on analog TV channels
Had my Sony about 3 weeks now. Here are my impressions: Picture Quality Analog channels, not that great, digital channels - somewhat better. HD channels and DVDs - superb! My only complaint is the lack of contrast in dark scenes. There seems to be ...

Pros: Picture Quality, Viewing Angle, Price, Easy to Use Remote/Menus Cons: 10seconds to warm up...Even a Ferrari F1 engine needs time to warm up...
This Sony 60" was a gift to myself for a year of hard work and lots of accomplishment...I just bought my first home and decided to bless it with this beautiful piece of machinery...I was going to buy a 50" Plasma from either Zenith or Panasonic but I ...

Superior LCD Television
by grand-dragon ,Dec 20 '05
Pros: Sony quality, Wega Gate, HD picture, many customizable options, Sound quality Cons: Analog picture (Any High Tech TV will be the same)
I debated a long time and went into the box stores a dozen times to compare models and DLP, LCD and Plasma. Current technology is fantastic but if you haven't bought a TV in a while, you will experience "Sticker Shock" Get over it and take a leap into a mesmorizing viewing experience. Basically, I went from the Mitsubishi 62" DLP to the Hitachi 60" LCD to finally the Sony 60" LCD. All were comparable and you wouldn't have made a bad choice in any model. But in the end the best choice ended up being the Sony KDF-E60A20. It's a wonderful TV and with the cablecard the image cleared up quite a bit. Analog tv leaves a lot to be desired, the image is a lot better than you would think. Digital images are much better and finally HD will blow you away! Even watching a boring cooking show on HD will hyptnotize you. You can't look away, I'm serious. I don't regret purchasing this TV and I look forward to outstanding sporting events and even the occasional cooking show in HD.

Don't buy from Sony
by peppertiki ,Mar 21 '09
Pros: Large screen. Fine color. Cons: Only lasts 2 years. Many known problems with optical blocks, vertical lines, lamps.
We purchased this set in Sept. 2006 and paid $2500. After 2 1/2 years of terrific viewing, colored vertical lines appear across the screen, the remote won't work, there is no sound. Technician said it will cost $800 to fix when a 46 inch flat panel will cost $1200.
Sony will not cover it although others have reported similar problems. Other TV's I have bought lasted much longer than 2 1/2 years.
Researching the issue, we find that these rear projections regularly fail after two years. So much so that many have filed class action lawsuits against Sony. One has completed and Sony settled. Several others are starting up for different models.
This set is definitely not worth it if it only lasts 2 1/2 years.

by steveandtracy7 ,Jan 28 '09
Pros: HDTV picture quality
Size
Cons: 4:3 picture quality under standard broadcast.
the television is well worth the money. it has excellent HDTV pictures, standard definition is pretty good on 4:3 aspect. the size is perfect, functions really well out of the box. you don't need to make many adjustments at all. for the price, you can't go wrong with this television.
