Pros: clear picture, great value Cons: takes TV 5-10 seconds to turn on
We have been in the market for a television for about six months now, so as you can tell we have done a little research about TV's. My husband and I do not have a lot of money so we have been waiting for a great bargain. We foind this Olevia 32" ...
Pros: Picture is clear. Remote works great. Cons: The speaker performance is poor. Crackling noise intermittent.
The TV has very good value for the money. Changing source does take a few seconds but doesn't really bother me at all. Hooked up my up-scale DVD player up to the TV and it work wonders. The speakers are placed at the bottom so it takes up less space. ...
Pros: Very Reasonable Price, Great Picture Quality, Ease of Use, Well Back-lit Remote Cons: Documentation on CD only (can be printed), Slow Response Changing Channels, On-Board Audio Fair-Good
The extremely attractive price was the first thing that caught my eye about this model, but it was only after doing a bit of on-line research and reading all available reviews that I decided to order it. Once I had the 532H hooked up properly (with ...
Pros: Spectacular picture, that wows everyone who sees it.
Attractive price. Cons: Lack of interoperability with universal remote.
Only 1 HDMI input.
Update after a little over a year with this TV: We remain very happy with this TV. We have had no problems with it. The only issue we had was that we lost sound in one channel--this turned out to be because of a bad connection in one of the cables from ...
Pros: Color accuracy, Picture clarity, Price Cons: Built-in speakers are underpowered
Pros: The picture is EXCELLENT! No ghosting and perfect in light or dark environment (and settings to adjust for each). It's so beautiful, I threw out my 50" projection SDTV AND my 21" CRT monitor. My 360 and my PC work flawlessly, and counter strike: ...
Pros: great picture, easy to use, firmware upgradeable via usb, price Cons: has multiple inputs but only one for Y/Pr/Pb from hd box. poor speakers
bought this tv around xmas time. figured it was a good price for a 32" lcd and read some good stuff about it. tried out my xbox 360 on it and it looked awesome. had hd cable put in, the picture quality is really good. it displays only up to 1080i but at 32" you wont be able to see much of a difference between 1080p. awesome tv for the price. i got it for $620 at an online retailer. only downside is it has only one input for
Y/Pr/Pb so i had to get get a vga cable for my xbox 360.
Syntax Olevia 532H 32" LCD by punch1845 ,Nov 29 '06
Pros: Price, picture quality, speakers on bottom, black frame Cons: Slow source change, occasional noise, no digital audio out, one HDMI input.
Couldn't resist the Black Friday price of this TV. It was the best price I had seen for any new 32" LCD costing under $450.00 after rebate. I am glad I purchased this unit although it is a tad small for my room, however, the over the air HD broadcasts are spectacular. I do get a little noise (a very thin line on top) on some of the local channels during daytimes and I'm not sure why. I am using a satellite receiver for OTA broadcasts on last year's 26" Olevia with no noise. The evening reception on both sets is excellent. All this could be avoided with a cable or satellite subscription. Overall a great HDTV especially for the price.
Pros: picture quality was good to start but declined Cons: costly repairs on parts that should not need replacing
This is a poorly built television that is not backed by a quality warranty or support team. The main picture board needs replacing after 18 months costing at least $350 plus shipping.
Fantastic Picture - Great Value by sam63hd ,Feb 10 '08
Pros: Great picture, many inputs, good on-screen menu, great value. Cons: Universal and cable remotes don't support this TV.
This is our first HDTV, and we just love it. The picture is exceptionally crisp and clear on HD, very good on standard TV and with standard DVD. It is fairly easy to use with an intuitive and simple on-screen menu. Remote is decent, it lights up, and it is OK to use. For the price, it is absolutely a great deal. I wish I would have bought another one at the same price.
Olevia TVs - steer clear! by smargison ,Jul 20 '07
Pros: When it works it does what it is supposed to do Cons: High failure rate, very slow to power up and be "ready"
I am now waiting for a replacement Olevia 532 LCD TV. This will be the fourth unit in under a year. My equipment is wired properly and protected better than most commercial installations -- I'm an electronics engineer and pro audio engineer so I know it is not me. They do replace them under warranty but it is difficult and they are very slow to respond. Regardless of that, 4 failed units in 11 months simply says the product is junk. And the failures are always different so it isn't just one feature that is flaky. The next time it breaks I will just accept that I bought cheap junk and landfill it and buy something better. You are warned -- steer clear of Olevia and SyntaxBrillian products.
Don't buy an Olevia.... by myopinion1957 ,Jun 19 '08
Pros: Was pretty for a short while....Don't buy an Olevia.... Cons: Broke very early.....Don't buy an Olevia....
We don't watch TV very much....maybe 12 hours per week. 13 months after purchase the main board went out. Olevia says they will "pay" labor, but we have to ship it and buy the main board at $250. What does it take, 15 minutes to swap out this $25 (their cost) board?
Pros: Great picture and found the menu to be easy to follow. Cons: Built in speakers were terrible. But easily remedied by using a surround sound system.
I research LCD TV's for about month before purchasing the Olevia 232T. I found this TV to be about half the price of a comparable Sony television. The issue with the speakers was minor if you plan on connecting to an auxillary sound system. The picture was very good, and so far I've been pleased with this purchase(owned less than a week).
Pros: It worked for 10 months Cons: Shut off randomly, tech support horrible, finally busted at 13 months after warranty ended
Do not buy an Olevia TV. 13 months after we bought it it started powering off randomly on its own. Called company they said to update the firmware. I had read on another site this had caused more problems, but the tech assured me it would help. He actually emailed me the firmware. Against my better judgement I did it. In the middle of the upgrade an error screen appeared. And that is the last anyone ever saw of that tv. Do yourself a favor and buy a reliable TV.
Pros: price Cons: quality and lack of warranty service
went bad after only about 2 months terrible terrible warranty service havent gotten any after well over a month of trying. picture good until malfunction. good price but i still have a tv that i am getting no enjoyment out of.would advise against purchasing this tv or any product from anyone who sells olevia tvs
