I am a native New Yorker and have frequently used TKTS to see whatever is available for the day on Broadway or off-Broadway.  I enjoy meeting out-of-towners and sharing my opinion of shows as I see pretty much everything worthwhile regularly.

I have even gotten seats a half hour before a show when tickets to another show that closed were unavailable.  The tickets were wonderful--center orchestra.  For theater buffs, this is the real deal.

New Yorkers in the know and visitors meet and mingle adding to the fun of standing in a long line.  Beware the hackers that try to ply the people in line with "tickets."  These are often bogus and will not assure entry to the theater.  Otherwise, enjoy the entertainers and New York street theater and people watching.
