Get Some Restful ZZZzzzz's

by gamblin_man gamblin_man is a Lead on Epinions in Home and Garden, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jan 21 '04
Pros: Gives a very good night's sleep, has a good warranty and return policy
Cons: A little expensive
We all spend around one-third of our life sleeping or at least lying down. How much is making that experience the best part of your day each day worth to you? Is it worth as much per day as, say, what you spend to watch television while you’re ...

Tempur-Pedic Swedish Sleep System: Hype or a Great Night's Sleep?

by hwz1 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jan 07 '04
Pros: Very comfortable, decent price, a great night's sleep
Cons: Difficult to find
We have been hearing the ads for years now. The ads about how the Swedish Sleep System is revolutionary and so much better than any other mattress. The ads that prompt us to try one for a limited period of time. Through all these years I wondered if ...

The Deluxe mattress certainly lives up too its name!

by 1GQ Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 22 '04
Pros: Comfortable from day one; has increased the quality of my sleep.
Cons: Poor customer service and poor warranty.
Special Notes: This is a review of the Tempur-Pedic Deluxe Swedish Mattress; the middle model. Please do not confuse with the Standard Swedish Mattress or the Celebrity Swedish Mattress. My 30 day experience: The day the mattress arrived I ...

Still love our Tempur-Pedic Deluxe after 15 months!

by sleepingwell , Feb 06 '07
Pros: Heavenly comfort, great support; like no other kind--worth the cost; perks available
Cons: Expensive
A little over a year ago we purchased a queen-size Tempur-Pedic Deluxe mattress set. It feels totally different from any other mattress and we absolutely love it. It supports every part of your body. I especially like it because it fills the small of ...

From skeptic to believer

by teamw23 , Aug 24 '05
Pros: Delivers the great sleep promised.
Cons: Expensive. You still have to get up in the AM
Our old mattress was starting resemble the grand canyon, with peaks and valleys and quite an unusual geography all around. When my wife started experiencing lower back pain and some stiffness getting up even though she is only in her Mid-30s, we knew ...

I can't sleep on anything else now

by gambyt13 , Jul 12 '04
Pros: 20 years of good sleep. Local store makes a deal, delivers free. No mold/mildew.
Cons: Needs to warm up to you. NOT 100% conforming to all contours.
UPDATE: Additional benefits of this bed that I left out. It is virtually zero maintenance. You never need to flip or even rotate the bed. In fact, you are not supposed to flip it. The foam springs back every time. After 7 months the surface still ...

Would not recommend to worst enemy

by taxladytoo , Feb 21 '04
Pros: No know pros
Cons: Hard, hot rock - creates problems that didn't exist before.
We purchased a Tempur-Pedic (king) mattress about 18 months ago to replace a very old waterbed. The first thing we noticed was how difficult it was to change positions. We had been told this was normal and would improve with time as our mattress got ...

As Good as the Hype

by jmcvey , Mar 30 '05
Pros: soft, yet supportive; no motion transfer; relieves pressure points; no sag toward second person
Cons: more expensive than some alternatives; lower profile than we prefer
I've always preferred a very firm mattress, but have come to realize that it is the support of a firm mattress and not the softness that I desire. Several years ago, we purchased a memory-foam (of another brand) top for our traditional mattress and were ...

You pay for combination of simple foam & 3-1/2 inch Tempur Material, but like magic!

by beamerniceman , Dec 08 '04
Pros: VERY comfy, soft, balanced. Causes good sleep. Service excellent, reliable BEFORE ordering Atleast/for-now.
Cons: VERY expen$$ive! Whatever technology, shouldn't cost so much! When its returned they throw it away.
Hello Sharing Experiences and Opinionative Fellow Folks, After using brand name conventional beds which suppose to be the best and most respected. I always wanted something softer but still supportive. I am a slim person with no back pains, but some ...

loving the tempur-pedic mattress!

by lsj2002 , May 10 '04
Pros: Extremely comfortable, cured my problem with painful hip pressure from my old mattress
Cons: Worried that over time the foam will lose elasticity and develop ruts
After "trying out" the tempur-pedic mattresses in a local store for years, I finally bit the bullet and plunked down $2000+ for the king size. It was the best money I've ever spent! For years I've been tossing & turning all night trying to get ...

Tempur Pedic disappointing experience

by rat55her , Nov 08 '04
Pros: I can't think of any
Cons: Developed back and neck pain, bad smell.
Here’s another real life and a very disappointing experience with the Tempur Pedic mattress. We have been sleeping on traditional full size mattress all our life and with a child it started getting smaller and eventually decided to go for a king size ...

too soft for me

by zeroch , Jul 12 '04
Pros: the first generation was great
Cons: the second generation is much softer, really bad for me
contrary to one of the previous one-star reviews, my main complaint is that it's too soft. I purchased one full-size from them six years ago, which is still in my house and it's still great. I purchased a king-size a couple years ago w/o second thoughts, ...

Wife loves it, I still miss my Spring Air

by newsreporter , May 12 '05
Pros: Memory foam supports back, no motion transfer, good pillows
Cons: Temperature, gets hot in summer, can't use electric blanket as it will damage the foam
After 15 years, our trusty Spring Air back supporter was on its last legs. My wife, who has lower back pain, really wanted to try the Tempur Pedic, as we had done some research on the product, and it had a good return policy. Two thousand dollars is a ...

Gets softer after initial usage

by ripsaw1088 , Sep 28 '06
Pros: First few nights were good.
Cons: Firm/soft level across models was initially confusing (dealer info vs factory info)
What you lay on in the store may not be what you'll be laying on after a few nights of sleeping on it in your home. Call it "break-in" or whatever, but the support seemed to weaken some after a few days. We got a DeluxeBed and foundation based on lying ...

Takes Some Getting Used To

by evilgrandma1 , Jun 29 '04
Pros: Soft and luxurious. No pressure points. Helped my back pain
Cons: Smells terrible at first. Provides no real support
After sleeping on a regular foam mattress for almost 30 years, we got eventually tired of hearing the ticking rip every time we turned over. We desperately needed a new mattress, and after seeing the TV commercials for Tempurpedic, decided to treat ...
