The First Years Reclining Feeding Seat: A Baby Must Not Have

by ursula_b , Jul 30 '06
Pros: Attaches to a chair you already own
Cons: Inconvenient to assemble, difficult to adjust, not easy to clean
The space in my home is limited, so I was very excited to see The First Years Reclining Feeding Seat among my options when shopping for a high chair. I really liked the fact that I could attach it to a chair I already own and preserve valuable floor ...

A good alternative to highchairs

by emkaysmommy , Jun 09 '02
Pros: Inexpensive. Takes up less space than a high chair. For child's first 2-3 years.
Cons: Seat bottom not padded. Difficult to adjust angle of seat.
The First Years reclining seat came unassembled. It was relatively easy to put together; you simply snap each part into place and thread the lap and security belts through two slots at the back of the seat. The chair features a padded seat back, plastic...

A great temporary solution!

by ktmcda , Jun 19 '02
Pros: safe, compact, affordable, not ugly
Cons: not padded on seat bottom, small tray
We bought this seat hoping to avoid ever buying an actual high chair. We live in a tiny house and we didn't want our space compromised by any baby gear that wasn't necessary.

Later, we decided that a full size high chair WAS necessary. We...

I threw mine in the garbage

by wayne0 , Aug 25 '06
Pros: Reclines.
Cons: Tray becomes undone from base. Cumbersome to transport
This chair was initially chosen over the others on the store shelves because of the name. As we were just starting to feed from a high chair and the baby could not hold herself up for a long time, the 'reclining' was a big feature for us, and it worked ...

Love this seat so much, we now have 2!!

by twobabygirls , May 12 '04
Pros: grows with the baby, great price, easy cleaning
Cons: hard to recline at first
I love this seat! Plain and simple! I was concerned when I had my first baby about where I was going to store a highchair. I mean after all the other "equipment" in my house....activity gym, walker, bouncy seat, car seat, etc. I was running out of ...

Loved It Until Recently...

by cryketo , Jan 27 '04
Pros: Seems to have the best of both worlds as a booster chair and high chair.
Cons: Ease of use is awful with potential for harm.
This chair seemed to fit our needs exactly as we have a small house, and I liked that it could fit on a chair. I loved the fact that it could accommodate infant feeding all the way to a toddler eating at the table. Since I care for all ages of ...

Good For Small Houses...Not Well Constructed

by jenleej , Mar 02 '05
Pros: Great Space Saver
Cons: Comfort, Ease of use
I decided to buy this product when my daughter was born because we have a small house and don't have the room for a full sized high chair. It definitely saves space. I keep this seat permanently on one of the chairs at the kitchen table. I am able to ...

Great seat for Grandma's house!

by osomom , Oct 22 '02
Pros: price, reclines, generally easy to use
Cons: hard to adjust recline
I bought this seat about a year ago to use at my parent's house. We were able to put it together with no problem. It straps to both the back of a chair and around the seat. I find it easy to take on and off the chair so it can be stored when not in...

Great Little Seat

by ljmiller , Oct 08 '05
Pros: Compact, easy to clean, durable, top fits into dishwasher,
Cons: When you need to change the recline, it is difficult.
I was given a hand-me-down first years seat while I was pregnant with my first child. I thought that I would use the seat while the child was just learning to eat solids but eventually buy a "regular" high chair with all of the bells and whistles. ...

Wonderful Alternative to Full-Sized High Chair

by melanie_mom , Jun 19 '02
Pros: Compact & Inexpensive
Cons: Does not fold up for travel/storage
The 4-stage feeding chair is a great alternative to the high chair for those with limited space. This is why we purchased it.

We use this chair in the corner of our breakfast nook attached at the bottom only, but it also hooks on easily to...

Pros: Inexpensive, easy cleanup, easy to operate
Cons: Tray sometimes needs help latching in place
We needed a high chair for our son (born 12/2002), but were tossing between spending the money on a Baby Trend high chair with all the cool features (like Grandma has) or to more utilize our money by getting this one. We chose this route. We don't ...
