Pros: Ideal dining atmosphere, reliable food, interesting crowd, NY experience 101. Cons: Can get crowded at the bar: but at least it's a pleasant crowd!
The ODEON is a manhattan staple. If you haven't dined there, you haven't really seen new york. Opened in 1982 by restauranteurs Brian and Keith McNally along with Lynn Wagenknecht, it has been crowded ever since: and for good reason. Few restaurants ma ...

Pros: Delectable food, crisp service, people watching. Cons: A bit expensive, but hey, it's Tribeca!
I went to the Odeon with friends for brunch on Sunday, 2/4/01. Parking was tough - we paid 10$ to park in a public lot across the street. It was an oasis of warmth on a freezing day and almost every table was full. The host (an odd guy who reminded me...

Pros: Great Service, interesting characters Cons: Greeted by people who may have a strong attraction to you (if you're a male)
Roaming through the streets of Tribeca, we came across a nice restaurant that was not what it appeared to be. After walking around for 20 minutes in the bitter cold we noticed The Odeon. At first glance, The Odeon appeared to be a small, dimly-lit...

Pros: steak frites, any roast meat Cons: can be noisy and crowded, bar gets smoky.
The Odeon is one of my favorite sort-of-casual-yet-good-for-a-celebration places. It can get crowded late at night, but I have also had brunch and dinner on short notice. In fact, both times we had dinner we pretty much called as we left our apartment...

Pros: Art deco decor, interesting crowd Cons: Costly, poor wine list, noisy
The Odeon has been around as long as anybody can remember it...well since 1980 that is. Located in the now-trendy TriBeCa neighborhood, the Odeon serves a brasserie-style menu in a rather noisy but elegant art deco decor surrounding.
The...
