Pros: well balanced sound, comfortable fit, lots of earbud options, metal case, leather case Cons: pricey, left/right indicators hard to see, hard to fit headphones into metal case
I bought these strictly based upon reviews, without ever hearing these at all. All I can say is I'm very impressed with the results. Perhaps the most popular in-ear headphones being purchased by iPod users everywhere are the Sony EX-71LP's. I own ...
Pros: Great sound, warrantee, noise canceling. Cons: Short cable, low-end not as tight as over ear
I first became interested in quality listening when an acne-prone bose sales rep brutally encouraged me to try out their quietcomfort 2 headphones with my ipod. I plugged it into my ipod, picked out my own mix and all the goodness poured into my skull ...
Rugged build, balanced sound, decently sized cord, good fit.
Cons:
Cable noise, pricey, hard to judge left earphone from right.
After over a year of dilly-dallying over which headphones to purchase, I decided to finally spend $180 on these sets of earphones. Since I live in India (where none of the UE outlets exist), I was very worried if my choice would be a proper one or not. ...
Pros: Amazing isolation. Clean sound. These rival anything I have ever tried. Cons: Thin and short cord. Pricey.

Pros: Great sound, nice bass, sensitive, perfect cord, durable and unbeatable for the price. Cons: None but may reveal the flaws in cheap players or poorly ripped music.
Ok... I'll confess that I'm somewhat of an audiophile--I enjoy good sound. I've been in search of the perfect headphones for travel and have tried quite a few along the way and most had some serious flaws: - Sennheiser closed back studio phones ...
Pros: Impressive at reproducing a balance of Highs and Lows. Replaceable cord, comes with useful accessories. Cons: Not suited for active lifestyle/work; the earphone casing are prone to separating.
For every portable music player I have owned and used in my life I gave little thought on the earphones that came with them. When I upgraded to Mini Disc players it was the first time I took to paying more attention to the quality of the earphones I was ...

You Can Do Way Better Than This by audio-freak ,Feb 23 '07
Pros: Comfy And Small Cons: Sound Quality Is Really Not Good
Canalphones are a good pick for your iPod or other portable device. They have good sound in a small package. But unfortunately, Ultimate Ears's super.fi 5 Pro does not have good sound and have way to thick of a sound. Too much bass, recessed mids, and bright, undetailed treble. This makes them give a fake illusion of a good headphone when they sound too thick and hot-sounding, especially when you're spending $200. Though, like all canalphones, they are small sized, comfortable, and efficent. But, unfortunately, sound is not up to par. Try the Shure E2C instead.
Pros: High fidelity, sound isolation, durable. Cons: 20 replacement earpiece foam covers cost almost $20 just for shipping!
I've had a pair of these for at least 3 years and they're still going strong. I'm a bit of an audiophile also, and these satisfied my longing for great portable sound. I used them working on an automobile assembly line and they got pretty dirty, but they held up like a champ. The cord seems a little rubbery and very thin but it's quite durable. I ended up using the foam earplugs, which I like to replace when they get grungy, -the replacement earplugs are not very expensive although the UPS shipping is! I wear them at the gym now, and outdoors inlne skating. I like the sound isolation. One caveat: in order to hear the bass and also get sound isolation, they have to be inserted securely in one's ears. I couldn't get a good seal until I bent the behind-the-ear piece to exert a slight inward pressure on the "ear-bud" into my ear. Does that make sense? It works, and so do these ear-canal phones!
Pros: Perfect sound, perfect fit and comfort! Cons: None
I have been searching endlessly for 2 months for the best and most perfect in-ear earphones I could get. These Super.fi 5 Pros have answered my prayers. The second I heard the first sounds from these earphones I was in love! Perfect tones, perfect bass, perfect treble and vocals. Just the way I wanted them to sound. Customer service is the best I have ever dealt with and I deal with customer service people over products all the time. You will not be disappointed AT ALL! I am EXTREMELY PICKY about all details and these earphones did not let me down. I am completely satisfied. You can not beat the price either.
I have tried those Shure E500PTH things, and there was something weird about the sound. The UE's sound just right. No adjusting of my music required and I don't find myself adjusting the volume at all either, like I would have to do with any other earphones out there.
Get them, they are a MUST HAVE!
excellent addition to iPod by invention13 ,Jun 03 '06
Pros: Excellent sound. Strong, but clean bass. Cons: Bit expensive. Look for them on eBay like I did.
I bought these to replace the iPod earbuds, which had a habit of shifting around in my ears or falling out alltogether. I find these very comfortable to wear and they do a great job attenuating the background sounds (like the AC duct in my office). The sound is excellent - very smooth and well balance - they do a good job with any kind of music. Expensive? Yes, but it is not a good idea to skimp on things you use all the time.
