Never Shall I Forget Those Flames Which Consumed My Faith Forever - Elie Weisel

by coldsteel7 coldsteel7 is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Hotels & Travel, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Nov 11 '09
Pros: Interactive, educational and graphic reminder of the effects of genocide.
Cons: None.
Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed.  Never shall I forget that smoke.  Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, ...

Come bear witness at the National Holocaust Museum.

by bsproles , Jun 30 '03
Pros: Architecture; A moving experience; Some original bits and pieces from that period.
Cons: Anne Frank exhibit was a bit shorter than expected; Maybe not moving enough.
I took a road trip this past week, up to New England (as far as Boston and Rhode Island.) On our way ...

by jo.com Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Nov 05 '03
Pros: Chilling, amazing displays and exhibits, a great room for children. A must see.
Cons: None
The entire title quote is, "My number is 174517; we have been baptized, we will carry the tattoo on our left arm until we die." Source: Primo Levi, Survival in Auschwitz (New York: Summit Books, 1986), p. 27. I have been to a few Holocaust Museums. ...

Don't miss this opportunity

by busybuyer123 , Feb 21 '08
Pros: A lifetime experience you will NEVER forget.
Cons: The time it takes to see it all to the fullest extent. The cafe.
We booked our tickets 3 months in advance while we were making vacation plans. Our arrival time was 1pm for the museum. Start as early as humanly possible. There is so much to take in. This is an experience you want to really take your time and read ...

Emotional, but in a Good Way

by philmils , Aug 03 '05
Pros: Great experience.
Cons: The crowds, the crowds, the crowds.
I'm not Jewish and you don't have to be Jewish to enjoy this museum. To begin with, far more than just the Jews were persecuted. This is emotionally the most powerful museum I've ever visited. If you leave without shedding a tear, you're probably a ...

Not as powerful as expected

by dvlish , Apr 09 '07
Pros: Powerful history lesson.
Cons: Not my favorite memorial in DC.
Let me start by saying that DC is my favorite city in the world (so far). I have lived there, visited there and was asked to be a wife at the foot of Abe Lincoln at dusk over looking the mall. As a lover of all things Washington DC, I have been on ...

Fabulous Museum in DC

by kittyka504 , Feb 03 '09
Pros: Great for all ages. Wonderful exhibits.
Cons: No place to change diapers in the bathrooms.
This museum is honestly one of the best I've been to anywhere. I live in DC, and have done almost all of the museums at some point in time. The holocaust museum is very well put together with all types of exhibits that appeal to the different senses. I ...

An Unusual Museum
by pizazz ,Mar 16 '07
Pros: Excellently designed for experiencing the Holocaust.
Cons: Appreciated the fresh air, sunlight and freedom afterward.

We got there early. We waited in line until it opened.
The regiment began as tickets were purchased.

I've read quite a bit about the Holocaust, the Prisons, the people, their experiences. I thought I knew but.......I was absolutely fascinated.

The interior is designed to give a feeling of closed in, dark, gloomy, desolate, almost imprisoned. Security keeps close watch everywhere. As real as it could be without being in the actual places.

An experience not to be missed.

Free Miles
by dallasdave ,Oct 19 '09
Pros: This is very sad to see these items from this horific event
Cons: It does not take long to see everything in the museum.
I used free miles I earned on www.thanksagain.com to see the museum and loved it! Pretty cool site I must say! I have flown for free 4 times so far in the last several years, as a result of getting frequent flier miles for going shopping, playing golf, my local day spa for massages and dry cleaning.. love it!  They even randomly give away miles to surprise people! I got 500 miles after 3 months, and so did my best friend in NY. I enjoy giving travel advice, and this is about the best piece of advice I can give....I have 5 cards registered with them, all with a different frequent flier# attached to it - so I earn miles to the airline of my choice by choosing the card for each purchase..good luck all!
