Pros: Magnificent Multi-Function design for the ages. (Or the ageless.) Cons: Connection clearances require child-size fingers. Menu Displays are off the wall (of Stone Age Caves.)

Pros: Very bright, good colour reproduction, lots of inputs for the price Cons: Poor black level, weak sound, remote control not backlit
I got this set some months ago at my local Costco retailer for 850$ CAD (about 750$ US). The first thing I tried on this TV was gaming (Xbox 360 connected via component) : the image quality was excellent! It was clear, very bright, and accurate. There ...

Mediocre LCD/TV
by dafact ,Jan 26 '06
Pros: Decent PC gaming monitor, remote control is simple. Cons: WEAK speakers, It is bright wear sunglasses, unassigned winXP drivers only, buttons on top.
PC screen quality is ok maybe slightly better than average. There is minor ghosting but not much to affect game playing. The quality is best if contrast is higher than brightness. For the optimal screen size, I had to add a screen size through NVIDIA software but it made the text, lines, and shading a lot better. I recommend DVI-D or use the High-Def components if your video card has a S-Video (TV-OUT).
Cable TV (analog) via a coax. TV picture quality is sub-par in 16:9 or 4:3 format. Depth perception is gone in black ground. While watching NFL football, noticed minor ghosting.
If you can buy the N2750W for $500.00 or less, it's a good deal. If you are gonna spend over $1000.00 stick with a Samsung or Sony.

An average compromise TV+Computer screen
by msubra ,Sep 26 '07
Pros: feature list; price Cons: poor display in most normal uses
1. Too much ghosting to my liking while watching any sports
2. Average display when connected to a PC
3. Colors are not good (black level?) while connected to DVI input from a Sony DVD player that outputs HDMI/DVI output (720p mode; tried changing color temperatures etc).
Since the price is good, and if you are not watching sports (only normal cable tv stuff) it is a good compromise.

Great buy from a great manufacturer!
by bibowski ,Mar 04 '06
Pros: Incredible price given the features, inputs and overall quality. Cons: A few things could be improved upon, including black levels and ghosting.
I'll admit, I've been a huge fan of Viewsonic for years. My first monitor was a Viewsonic almost 10 years ago, and they haven't disappointed me since.
When I heard they had a 27" LCD TV/Monitor, I was interested. Once I heard it was $899 (Canadian), I didn't hesitate, and picked one up right away.
The number of inputs on the set is very impressive, and the number of features is also great.
Pros
- DVI, VGA, and 2 Component inputs is amazing for a set of this price.
- You don't have to switch between sources sequentially.
- Very bright screen, good colours.
- Decent picture when used as computer monitor in 1280 x 768
Cons
- Pretty weak black levels, especially in movies.
- Some heavy ghosting for the first 10-15 minutes that the set is on.
- For some reason, this set gets REALLY hot after a while!
- Can only choose 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios. Certain media is not anamorphic and needs to be stretched.

Good monitor for the price, below average analog TV
by jarednc ,Sep 20 '05
Pros: Fine if you only plan to watch DVDs and HDTV Cons: Poor analog TV image quality
I have had good luck with Viewsonic products in the past and didn't hesitate to buy this model a GoodGuys. I purchased too quickly however, because I did not try it with a standard analog cable TV or broadcast signal. Unfortunately, the image quality is poor except when used with an HDTV signal, a good DVD player, or a computer. Compared to other similar-sized LCDs at the store, this on is significantly more grainy and has more ghosting.
I used the monitor with my notebook using the DVI connector and I was impressed with the image quality. It would be fine for displaying powerpoint slides to a group.

Very good compromise between PC and TV
by kcal63 ,Jul 11 '05
Pros: Great sound. Multiple input options. Well designed, good looking monitor. Outstanding price. Truly thin. Cons: Only a so-so PC screen. Generates a lot of heat. Slight delay in channel switches.
This monitor looks very good as a TV and works well as a PC monitor, although text is not very clear (alternating clear and fuzzy lines at all but native, 1280x720, resolution). Setting it to 4:3 mode allows a better monitor screen (22" diagonal) for web surfing etc. The sound from such small speakers is truly amazing. Great monitor for the price, comparable to others at 40%-50% more. While it handles HD it only goes up to 720p, not 1080. Very good brightness and reasonable blacks for an LCD screen. Has all the necessary inputs to use as a TV with component inputs for progressive DVD and analog and digital inputs for PC. Very well designed unit (wire cover plates in back, nice overall esthetics. Setup was simple and remote has almost all continuously used functions in separate buttons (except format switch). Bought this retail in NYC last week and really like it despite the drop in pixel resolution from my old VG191B.

Better Monitor than HDTV
by fertree ,Dec 31 '05
Pros: Nice size, decent monitor, good audio, PIP feature works with VGA and S-Video Cons: Mediocre HD quality
As a PC monitor this unit is great. It looks good, is easy to read, and thus far (5 months) reliable. I also like the Picture in Picture feature, allowing a small tv screen going while while web surfing.
As an HDTV, this unit is mediocre at best. Areas constantly blur, especially during fast moving sporting events, and, overall, the HD experience on this monitor is mediocre.

Look elsewhere for a quality LCD
by dforristall ,Oct 05 '06
Pros: Big for the price Cons: poor quality, remote IR codes are proprietary.
I bought one of these about 6 months ago. After about 3 months of use as a computer monitor and a TV, I started getting two large red lines on the left side of the display. I called Viewsonic to get an RMA, but here's the thing. I had to pay to ship it to them!!! So after 150$ shipping bill, I was not a happy camper. Then they had it for a month before they sent me a refurbished unit as a replacement. This second unit was almost a year old by the manufactured date on the serial number!!! Then it worked for about 5 days and the picture went out. So this time they sent me a prepaid UPS slip to ship it back to them, so now I've been without a monitor for about two weeks waiting on ANOTHER replacement to arrive.
I will not buy ViewSonic brand again. I bought it from NewEgg which was great as always, but they don't warranty monitors over 24", you have to go back to the manufacturer.
