We all know the commercials. You know, the ones where the guy is spraying his house and his fence and other stuff. There has never been a bigger case of false advertising.
I purchased this unit expecting it to take the hassle out of painting....
Pros: User friendly, VERY fast, Easy one handed operation, good coverage, easy cleanup Cons: NOISEY!!!!!, detailed cleaning, lots of overspray yet easily controlled
The painter is a VERY good investment. I had yet another room in my home to paint (been renovating over 2000 square foot for a year now) I decided to bite the bullet, and buy a Wagner after I realized I would have to paint the ceiling and walls in the ...
Pros: Three spray patterns.
Very even distribution.
Good instructions.
Fast and simple. Cons: Must make sure you mix the paint properly.
Messy cleanup.
Purchased at Home Depot for $69.00. I had a set of cast iron patio furniture to paint. I did not want to go through the hassle of buying umpteen million cans of spray paint because I had 6 chairs, large table and glider to do. Thought I would give ...
Pros: if it works it saves time Cons: noisy, leaky, inconsistent, hose falls out, takes to many people, very frustrating
Bought this to save time painting. First use leaked about as much as it sprayed. Tried again by thinning paint slightly-worked fairly well; spit some. Was usable. Third time same procedure as second time. The thing spit, spattered and leaked so badly we ...
Pros: There are no pros...... Cons: Paint in nose, noisy, messy, does not work, cleaning time, waste of time.
I purchased this sprayer thinking, I only had a small room to do, I didnt need anything that serious. I've used larger industrial paint sprayers from a rental store before in another home, and had great results. We have all seen the ...
Pros: Quick shingle painting, not need to thin out paint Cons: my arms are sore!
After reading alot of reviews I was a bit nervous about trying this. I have a raised ranch with alot of shingles I wanted to paint 2 coats, so I bought the 3 speed wagner powersprayer at Home Depot for 100.00. I feel that those who had bad experiences ...
Pros: Inexpensive, and faster than a roller and brush Cons: Very bad coverage, messy, noisy, time consuming (unsuccessful) cleanup.
My dad has one. I went over to borrow it, got it home, read the directions, spent a half hour trying to get paint to flow through it to no avail. I figured maybe dad didn't clean it right or something. So I looked them up, saw that they didn't cost too ...
A little work goes a long way by apterigo ,Jul 04 '04
Pros: Excellent paint coverage and cheap. Excellent value. Cons: A little messy and hard to setup initially
I purchased a 2-speed wagner Power Sprayer from my local Big Lot's store about six months ago for $25.00. I figured the worse that could happen would be that I wasted $25.00. After initially using this sprayer with Primer, I was very concerned. I had a lot of trouble getting the sprayer to work, it would spray unevenly and refuse to suck paint from the 1 quart paint container. I spent a little bit of time working with the sprayer, about three hours, and found that the real usefulness of these sprayers is in knowing what speed and "dial" setting to have them at. I recently purchased two additional sprayers and painted my house (3500+ square foot, three story early 1900s Folk Victorian) in only a couple of days. Once you understand how these sprayers work, they are absolutely fabulous, ever bit as good as they show on the commercials. These units are very simply manufactured and are easy for the consumer to take apart and repair in the event that it becomes clogged with paint.
Pros: Lots of power. Great coverage. Optional bulk container makes big jobs easier. Cons: Trial and error thinning. The "drip cup" that once made that easy not included.
My second Wagner. Purchased at big box store. Excellent results out of the box. Key was careful assembly and thinning paint adequately. Just finished painting a 26 x 28 garage (exterior latex) without problems. Most important thing about using a Wagner, in my opinion, is proper thinning of paint. Takes patience but once that is resolved, unit performs very well.
Pros: good learning experience/was able to return it Cons: had to waste the time on it in the first place
I invested in a little power painter to paint some small exterior garage doors, not a big job, so I figured a little gun like this would do the trick.
There is nothing predictable about this gun.
it works fine one moment and then starts spitting paint
like an ostridge spits bile, Causing runs, inconsistent coverage and general frustration.
Go ahead and try to clean it, maybe that will cure these ails, oh maybe not, and the 30 minutes to clean it will compound once you've tried these prescribed recomondations(from the manual)more than once.
If your looking for a cheap way to easily paint some stuff,
look no further than a roller and brush.
and for wagner as a company, if a sales associate at home depot says "wagners not the best company"
you can be sure there's a dead fish in the water.
Wagner 3 speed 2400PSI Pro Duty by diy06 ,Oct 17 '06
Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Does not work with Behr latex paint
I tried the Wagner 2400 PSI Pro Duty Power Painter[with the supplied 0.8mm wide angle tip] with Behr Exterior Latex Paint. Then I used the Behr instructions to thin the paint. [The Wagner instructions say to follow the instructions on the paint can] and finally using Flood Floetrol as suggested by the Wagner customer service rep. In all cases the sprayer spit and sputtered globs of paint for a few minutes then quit. The unit was cleaned and lubricated after each attempt. This product is a waste of money and time. I don't recommend this to anyone.
Waste of money. I read the instructions to the "T" and encountered much frustration with the hoses not staying in the five gallon bucket and the gobs of paint sprayed on the wall. I even thinned the paint like it said.
Wagner wide shot home pro 2400 psi by nebraskajeff ,Jun 24 '06
Pros: easy to follow instructions, easy cleanup in about 20 minutes, $99 was well spent Cons: goes through paint rather quickly so you have to stop and refill bottle frequently
I bought the Wagner wide shot pro 2400 psi yesterday, today I did 24 feet of lattice on my deck in less than 30 minutes, it worked great. I followed the instructions and thinned the latex paint with Flood brand thinner according to directions. Cleanup was easy, I'm waiting for inside to dry so I can do the outside. I found the high setting worked the best,
What a mess, don't buy this junk by zahmbee ,Oct 11 '06
Pros: cheap price Cons: lowest quality painter on the planet
Messy, noisy, nasty, unreliable, BAD! I don't know why any country on the planet lets Wagner sell this piece of junk to the public. It's a hassle to get running. Noisy, and leaks likes there's no tomorrow. Mine lasted for one use. On the second use (after cleaning) I could not get warm tap water to spray through this piece of junk. If you've got a little money it's much better to buy a Graco unit. After one use Wagner will leave you wondering why you didn't do your job using cans of spray paint.
Wagner is lousy. Don't waste your money on this product.
Pros: Hot line was very accessible. Cons: Maximum of down time....forever taking it apart, cleaning and reassembling.
I was very frustrated by the Wagner 2400, which the box says was for use with heavy latex paint. The only thing I could successfully spray was water. We even diluted the paint to a 1 to 4 water to paint ratio and it still wouldn't work.
