Pros: Interactive fun, many activities to choose from Cons: Addicting! You will want to buy more, time-sucking website, another stuffed toy?
I'd been hearing about Webkinz for several months and resisted. I'd heard tales of friends going on a hunt to find certain ones and seen the signs at the stores saying "limit 2 Webkinz per person". Honestly, this had beanie baby written all over it and I ...
Pros: Cute, fun, imaginative (and educational) play for children. Cons: Addictive, addictive, addictive.... and, did I mention, addictive !!
Webkinz.... An adorable, fun, imaginative website where children can play, as well as learn a little about responsibility ?..... or a sadistic ploy to addict parents everywhere ?!?!?!? You be the judge !! Webkinz are the newest rage, sweeping through ...
Pros: Safe for kids who like to play on the computer. Cons: Not expensive initially, but when they keep wanting "just one more" it can get expensive.
First, let me tell you what a "Webkinz" is. It is made by Ganz and first came out in April of 2005. They are similar to the Ty Beanie Babies, only in my opinion a lot better. They are not just a stuffed animal. They are interactive pets that have ...
Pros: Wide age range from young child to adult. Adding and subtracting skills are used. Cons: "Exclusive Items" can only be obtained by having 10,15 and so on Webkinz.
O.k. I am completely addicted to my kids Webkinz. I admit it. There it's out there. Every morning my kids go off to school and I spin the "WHEEL of WOW".With hopes that I will win a great prize to surprise my kids with afterschool. I really hope I ...
Pros: cute, fun, somewhat educational Cons: more stuffed animals in the house, addicting
Webkinz are the big rage in our area right now. I assume that they are popular in other areas as well. My daughter got her first Webkinz as a surprise from her father and at the time, neither of them even knew what it did. They just thought it was a ...
Pros: Cute, fun games and activities, you can decorate and build rooms. Cons: Huge time-suck; encourages kids to buy, buy, buy.
When I moved to Seattle a few months ago, I didn't have many friends here. So the solution seemed obvious: I would buy myself some friends. Specifically, I would buy myself a Webkinz, a furry and lovable plush toy that came with a one-year membership ...
Pros: fun, addictive, plenty to do and see Cons: addictive! Yet another stuffed animal?
I had heard a lot about Webkinz here and there, but it was just recently when my own children started getting into them, and I must say I am completely addicted to their website now, and I am so glad we got into them because we are having fun. What’s ...
Pros: Teaches kids how to take care of things and its fun!! Cons: The website takes a while to download
When my 8 year old daughter told me that her friends had webkinz I had no idea what she was talking about. She showed me her friends webkins dog and I thought Oh what a cute toy. Then we went to a boutique to get one where her friend purchased it and ...
Pros: This website is awesome for both children and their parents. Cons: Some of the special activities are going on during bedtime hours.
My seven and three year old daughters received webkinz as a gift from their Aunt. The animals are absolutely adorable. They come with a code which you need to join the community and become a member. So when you purchase a webkinz, make sure the tag ...
Pros: Teaches money skills. Safe place online for kids. Cons: Expires after one year.
Kids want to get online just like the adults or older siblings. This toy/experience gives kids just what they want. Parents have the knowledge that kids are safe at this incredible site. Fun, fun fun! This items is all the rage here in Midwest. ...
Pros: Fun, inexpensive, learning tools, cute Cons: hard to find, some store are price gouging
Webkinz are wonderful! Webkinz are out of this world! I have an 8 year old daughter who fell in love with Webkinz about 4 moths ago and the love is growing every day. Here's the scoop on the hot new trend in toys for the 4-14 set(and ...
Pros: cute stuffed animal Cons: computer glitches can eliminate participation with the online site
Beanie babies, Pokemon, etc...now Webkinz. The kids just HAVE to have it. Parents stand in lines to get one. What is it? It's a stuffed animal with a password to a website allowing simple games. Don't we all already have far superior games such as ...
Pros: Website appears safe; conversations consist of pre-written phrases, children can't exchange personal information. Cons: Manufacturer refuses to replace lost "Secret" codes. Period. Customer Service rating is an F-.
The Webkinz concept is kind of cool and the little toys are cute. Kids love them. Children use a "secret" code and go online to "adopt" their new pet. They give it a name. They can socialize with their friends (if they know their friend's Pet's names). ...
Pros: Cute toy Cons: Everything else! Their customer service is worthless. Totally useless and frustrating!
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She was so excited, but when we tried to adopt it on the website there were technical problems and she was unable to do so. Then when we tried again it said her secret code was already used! The only way to ...
Pros: Educational, fun Cons: Artificially created market that drives up prices. Unconscionable when dealing with children.
1) Kinz Chat + is NOT the safe happy world that Ganz suggested it was. Once again it has been closed because people have been very easily getting past the word restrictions to share information, as well as talk dirty to each other. I'm not saying it should be closed, nor am I hoping it'll be reopened. I just think Ganz shouldn't give parents a false sense of security because many of my fellow adults are not that savvy when it comes to things like this.
2) The fact that "Love puppy" costs about 90 dollars is ridiculous. Ganz - make more of each animal, and don't retire them. Come on. This is kids we're talking about. Why does this have to become some horrid beanie-baby-esque artificially created market. Webkinz specifically were targeted at children, especially with the nifty virtual world idea. You can still make good $ by selling them at reasonable prices (i.e. having enough to sell).
