I have tried several different monitors on my computer and have never been completely satisfied with any of them until I got this 42 widescreen monitor. Being a full 1920x1080 resolution HDTV ready monitor combined with the various PIP modes, it ...
Pros: ultimate resolution(1080P), gloriously bright, both DVI and HDMI inputs, anti-reflective screen Cons: doesn't upgrade poor signals, disappointing fill options, remote, speakers, no tuner
Before you consider this monitor (that's a TV with no tuner), ask yourself this first: Is this going to be a stand alone TV or part of a Home Theater system? If it's going to be part of a home theater system, is it going to be the hub or are you ...
Pros: Cream of the crop resolution at 1/2 the price. Great picture and sound. Cons: No color adjustments in menu's, a couple of power issues.
A little intro first: Well, the old 27" Sony tube was finally ready to be replaced. Was on the Internet looking at reviews one Sat. morning and stumbled upon this little gem. We have a 92" screen, front projector in the basement with the theater ...
Pros: It's accepts 1080p inputs and it costs less than $2k Cons: Remote doesn't work all the time, doesn't up convert to 1080p.
For under $2,000 you cannot find a better 1080p LCD. The picture looks beautiful, and I wouldn't return mine for the world, but there are a couple negatives. 1. The remote is very non responsive. You have to hit the button numerous times to get it ...
Pros: 1080p, VGA input, power-saving auto-off, LCD Cons: occasional freeze-up while in sleep mode
I was happy with my old TV until I saw a good deal on this monitor. To go along with the other reviews, here are some things I enjoy about this set: - LCD flat panel means it is nice and slim and will be going on my wall soon. - Plenty of different ...
Pros: Great viewing at a good price Cons: Only one HDMI input (but then you can get an HDMI to DVI cable)
In my research to find out about High Definition TV so that I could better make an informed decision as to what to buy I discovered/realized something that really surprised me. I was amazed in fact, that I had not realized this before. Well, better ...
Pros: Great picture
1080p Cons: Tech Support is awefull
Great TV out of the box. We use it connected to a computer as a display in our lobby area. Ran into a problem with the picture, so... Week 1 - Called tech support several times Week 2 - Sent unit back for repair Week 3 - They "verified" it was ...
Pros: Excellent resolution 1920x1080
clear picture
HDMI, DVI, Component, and AV plug ins
very attractive price Cons: sound is mediocre at best
really cheesy remote
customer service is horrible
I've had my television for two months now and still not sure I consider it a "good buy". I got a sweet deal on it sure enough. $1500.00 is still a good price now, but you do get what you pay for. The resolution is the best around still although other ...
Pros: Price is great.
Picture is great when full HDTV
Lots of connectors Cons: See full desc.
I've been using this monitor for around 25 days and have had an opportunity to see it with Comcast HD programming. I have just finished returning it for a defect which I'll first describe, then tick off the pros and cons of it. The defect was that I ...
BEST OF THE BEST........ by libralady1022 ,Apr 25 '07
Pros: spectacular picture, clarity, color, easy to use. built in speakers have good sound also. Cons: 1/4" line above screen margin due to lag signals from cable /dish receivers
my son informed me about this television. he explained that it was actually a monitor, and that you needed to have it connected to a receiver in order to use it. i am a customer of dish network, and upgraded my entire package since purchasing this awesome monitor. the clarity and color while viewing a high definition channel is spectacular. at times, i feel like i am sitting in a IMAX theatre, and i do need to get up because i feel dizzy from the amazing view. the price is unbelievable for what you are getting. only quirk, which is actually attributed to high definition cable or satellite companies, would be a small 1/4 inch line along one of the margins at times while first viewing a program. the satellite technician explained that this was a lag due to download of the signals from either cable of dish receivers. if you can afford it.........you should own it.
Pros: Great price, fast shipping, free shipping, no tax, very good sound quality, stylish looking TV. Cons: funky little remote with no back-lighting, small onscreen menu.
I found this tv while browsing through epinions and purchased it online through Buydig.com for $1268.00 with free shipping and no tax. It was shipped via Fedex and came in 6 days without incident.
Love the set. TV was a breeze to setup, doesn't come with a tuner, but I didn't need one since I have a cable box. The sound quality is very good, picture is also quite good (I have a plasma in my living room and of course the plasma is better, but this is an LCD and for what it is the picture is just fine.)
I don't like the remote control, kinda funky looking with no back lighting (knew that when I ordered it) and the onscreen menu is very small. I have a very long room 23' and from the bed it is hard to read the menu. BUT, that being said those are my only two complaints.
Pros: Excellent picture
Flexible inputs
Thin
Cons: No tuner
I purchased the floor model of this Westinghouse LVM-42w2 monitor from a local retailer and have been extremely happy with it. The full 1080p resolution combined with a really good image processor makes it a pleasure to watch. One thing that a lot of people miss when looking at this monitor is the fact that it has no tuner in it whatsoever. Most people have cable tv or a satellite receiver, so it's no big deal, but don't expect this thing to pick up any channels by itself. By the same token, it's quite a bit less expensive, and I'd rather have a high quality monitor and let cable or satellite provide me the tuner anyway. It also has 2 DVI (most often associated with computers) inputs as well as non-HD s-video and composite inputs to round out the HDMI and component video inputs. It also has stereo speakers with a subwoofer, but I have never even hooked these up simply because I have the TV as part of a home theater system, so I can't comment on their sound. All in all, it's a great value!
Nice picture but warranty service is horrible by kfc3 ,May 17 '07
Pros: 1080i, good picture Cons: When it breaks, and it will, you're out of luck
This monitor was great for 11 months but when it failed I was forced to ship it across the country at no small expense and have now waited almost 6 weeks to get a status on the repair. I can only conclude that the failure rate is so bad that they can't fix them fast enough.
