Pros: A very effective humane trap that can even be used before you have a problem. Cons: None
Depending on what area of the country you live in you are probably in the midst of an invasion. Here in rural Nebraska field mice are scampering from the fields looking for shelter from the cold and the prying eyes of predatory birds. Late fall and into ...

Pros: Actually works, can catch multiple rodents. Fits nicely in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Cons: Some people will use this and then release the rodents.
I was very surprised to find that this also catches roof rats. Roof rats are much smarter than mice. The problem is it worked once on roof rats and then it never worked again. But I am still impressed with it since nothing else I have tried has ...

Pros: Minimum stress and maximum comfort Cons: None whatever
We have had mice visiting our kitchen most nights for years. Tried another no-kill trap - a plastic coffin like object, that left mice stressed and traumatized from the extreme confinement. It also didn't work well. It has been less than 3 ...

Victor Tin Cat trap
by bongo1 ,Sep 28 '04
Pros: good design Cons: mice sometimes escape.
This is a good trap in many ways, but Out of about 10 caught, I have had 2 escape. The trap is still pretty new and its parts still move freely.

A Complete Waste Of Money
by ckreider22 ,Dec 19 '06
Pros: Easy To Use Cons: Does not catch any mice!
I have been catching one mouse at a time using a small hav-a-heart trap.Thought this would be easier.Used per instructions and after 3 days I caught none.Thinking that they had all moved on I placed my old hav-a-heart on top of the tin cat.Within an hour I had a mouse.I now plan on getting a few more of the traps that work.

Victor Tin Cat Mouse Trap
by kllghk ,Nov 30 '03
Pros: They will trap numerous mice on one setting and are sturdy. Cons: It can be a challenge if you have a trap full of live mice.
These traps are great!
I started using these traps at the advise of a farmer friend of mine. Because of the large capacity, these traps can be used in barns or outbuildings.
The trap can be submerged briefly and I have not had any of the traps rust.

Doesn't work
by porkboy ,Dec 18 '06
Pros: I am forced to put something in here, so, the steel looks easy to clean. Cons: Doesn't work. Doesn't work. Doesn't work. Doesn't work.
I have an old farmhouse in the country that I use on the weekends. I catch a ton of mice with peanut butter and traditional "snap" traps. I wanted something to keep trapping while I was away during the week and didn't have to be reset. I bought two of these, neither has caught a single mouse. I have placed them as instructed, with hole along the baseboard and in places where I see the most mouse "litter". I have even baited the traps with peanut butter, bleu cheese and stale toast with butter. I come back and find that the tops of the traps are covered in mouse crap, clearly they can smell the bait, but the bait is untouched and there are no mice in the trap. The trap door must freak them out and even though there's a treasure trove of food in the trap they won't walk up the levered ramps.
Don't buy it. It doesn't work.

Tin CAT, not can, but Victor makes a better alternative
by shouffrey ,May 22 '06
Pros: Only live catch and release trap I could find consistently yields results. Cons: SHARP edges on metal which make releasing and cleaning difficult.
The Tin Cat, it's not called a Tin Can like the title says, is a very effective catch and release trap. I looked at several so-called 'humane' traps, but most of them kill their prey in what they call a humane way. The Tin Cat can be a live or kill trap. After purchasing one, I found woodstreampro, the Manufacturer of Victor traps makes one called the Poly Cat. The Poly Cat works the same way, but it's made out of plastic. The only place on the internet I could find to buy the Poly Cat is benmeadows. Also a new ABS plastic product called the Corner Cat.

Worked Great ...after a little trick!
by hello8498 ,Oct 18 '08
Pros: Works, humane, no dead putrifying mice with chemicals in them in your house. Cons: Had to be creative to catch them. See review.
When I first bought this I put some peanut butter and cheese inside and never caught anything for a few days even though I had seen mice. Then I tried sprinkling grated parmesan cheese on both entrance ramps and outside both entrance holes. Using this method I caught one mouse a night for four straight nights (and then four bicycle trips about a mile away to their new home in the woods). I think that was all there were. Tip- be careful when you check trap. One mouse hid in the tunnel and almost escaped before I saw it.

Catches mice, broke after 2 years
by mrcs1221 ,Dec 08 '09
Pros: it IS a humane way to catch mice Cons: broke after 2 years, hard to get the mice out
It DOES catch the mice. Mine broke after 2 years. It was hard to get the mice out of the trap - they would hide in the 2 small entrances. I once waited 20 minutes for a mouse to come out. I finally left the trap & came back the next day to pick it up. The mouse was gone by then.
