Pros: Reliable, compact yet roomy and good gas mileage Cons: Toyota Parts. It's basically a Toyota Corolla The Bottom Line: Good steady car. It might just be around when my son learns to drive.
This is my contribution to the write off for roadiem. I do not make myself out to be a auto reviewer. I will more than likely fudge this up, but it is for the best cause.
I never knew roadiem other than loving his music articles. He loved the...

Pros: Reliable,
Efficient (30mpg),
Good performance,
Comfortable,
Still looks good
Cons: God drives this car. The Bottom Line: This is one of the best cars ever made. I would be afraid to buy a new car, because it would probably be a step down.
It may sound odd calling an '80s econobox a luxury car, but in my opinion that's exactly what the 1987 Chevy Nova is. Why? Because it works, and works well. You don't have to spend a lot of time or money on it. This car is a twin of the Toyota Corol ...

Pros: great gas mileage, surprising amount of room for Small car, nicest looking 80's vehicles Cons: only problem was the ceiling. The Nova was my True Love The Bottom Line: The best cheap car out there, I would buy 100 more and keep them all if I could find one. Contact me if you have one you want to sell!
I owned 2 '87 Chevy Nova's. The First I paid $200 for. It was a stick shift 4 door sedan in two-tone grey. I loved this car. It had little power and when I had friends in the back seat it barely made it up hill. But the very last day I drove this car ...

Pros: Reliable, compact vehicle, good gas mileage, great trunk, fun to drive and easy to park. Cons: stupid head liner The Bottom Line: Overall, a great little car. Too bad they don't make them anymore. Have a feeling they were too good and that cut into the new car sales a bit!
I bought my '87 Nova in the fall of 1986. It was the first new car I had ever bought. I have never regretted it. Four doors, five speeds and still plenty of get up and go after all these years. The car is roomy enough that for a few years, I transported ...

Pros: Cheap, reliable, good gas mileage Cons: Somewhat expensive repairs, small The Bottom Line: A very economical and fun-to-drive car.
My Chevy Nova was one of the best cars I've ever owned. It was made by Toyota for Chevy; its really a Corolla. So replacement parts can be a little more expensive than domestic cars. On the plus side, you can get this Corolla cheaper than a regular...

Pros: This car is extremely reliable, efficient and stylish. Cons: It could stand to be just a slight bit larger. Needs larger wheels/tires. The Bottom Line: I would suggest this car to anyone who needs a nice-looking, reliable, fun to drive economy car that will last a very long time.
In July, I bought a 1986 Chevy Nova (US-built, restyled Toyota Corolla) with 268,000 miles, with some accident damage and an engine which ran on 2 cylinders for $60. The body was not rusty and the manual transmission was good, so I decided to fix the...

Pros: Wrenching on it isn't bad, at least not designed by GM, good gas mileage. Cons: Carbed 1.6l, c'mon it's 1987 already. Few hop-up parts, I've found 'em though. The Bottom Line: Fine for a cheap appliance car. You want something similar but fun, get a Volkswagen, or at least the manual trans.
This is one of my buddies car, I do the mechanical work on it. He got the car for free w/42,000 miles (for graduation) and basically just wants to make it a nice driver. We've put in springs and sway bars and replaced the cooling system. Other than that,...

Pros: extremely reliable car, looks very cool Cons: there are no negative sides to the Chevy Nova The Bottom Line: The 1987 Chevy Nova is the only car a person will ever need. It is reliable, comfortable, and will get people here they want to go.
The Chevy Nova is an incredible car. I got this car about 4 years ago, and it has been a wonderful friend ever since. I've traveled in it from Detroit, MI to deep into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (near Wisconsin) and back a number of times, and...

Pros: good gas mileage, reliable, durable, safe Cons: none The Bottom Line: It is the all-purpose college car.
I actually do not own an '87, but I have had two 1988 Chevy Novas. I basically owned my mom's when I was 16. It had 141,000 miles on it, and I fell asleep at the wheel. The Nova struck an embankment at 60mph and flipped over twice. My girlfriend and...

Pros: nice handling, gas mileage, comfortable Cons: hard to source parts, info for any type of mods The Bottom Line: This is a must have for budgets...I have seen plenty of these cars driving around my area and beyond. Would really look good modified(not too extreme)!
I have a 1987 Chevy Nova notchback. It is my first car(college). I must say it is a very reliable vehicle. My parents bought it new in 1987 and it has not failed under any condition. Rain, sleet, or snow, this car will go!
As long as you...

good pick up,
economical tires,
good in snow,
good traction Cons: -wheel wells rust out
Purchased my Nova 5 years ago. I've averaged 20k miles a year. Small repairs every once in awhile, but so far nothing major. It has served me well for highway driving. When cleaned up, I still get plenty of compliments.

I love my NOVA

Pros: Roomy, cute (yes cute), and hard to kill. Cons: Mine vapor locks. But that's probably just mine.
I bought my Nova at a small used car dealer about a year ago. It only cost me $500 because the owners couldn't get it to pass emissions. My dad looked at it and decided all it needed was to rebuild the carburator. He did and the car started purring like a kitten. It gets about 25 miles to the gallon. It usually starts right up. It does vapor lock a lot, but a little ice on my fuel pump takes care of that problem.
She's comfy on the inside and roomier than you would think. The trunk is a lot larger than it looks. And can fit five people and enough camping gear for all in my little nova.
I was in an accident with it a few weeks ago and completely crumpled the front end. I think with any other car, I would have just gotten rid of it. Not my nova though. I'm determined to fix her up and get another 200,000 miles out of her.
I'd recommend a nova to anyone. They just keep going and going and going . . . . .

Pros: American (kind of...) Cons: Ugly as a cheap prostitute,
Very little initial acceleration from a stop,
Small,
Toyota Engine
My Nova has less than 60,000 miles and has not been driven hard at all(I know because it was my grandparents car that was purchased new) and there is already a leak between heads that creates a huge miss. The starter has already gone out. It is also very ugly. The only good things I can think of is before the leak it got good gas mileage and has a fairly large trunk.
