Pros: Great Power and Acceleration, Dependable, Sporty, Great on Gas, VTEC Cons: Backseat, Road noise, Lacks Torque, Insurance Premiums, Thieves love this car The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this car because it's dependable, no rattles, great gas mileage, quick, VTEC, and an iconic car to Honda owners.
About 6 months ago I purchased myself a 1996 Acura Integra GS-R with 105k miles on it. I was kind of skeptical because I know that teenagers like to race these cars and they usually come trashed, so I expected that the motor wouldn’t be as strong and ...

Pros: 8000 RPM limit. Durability. Acceleration. Braking. Cons: Wind noise. The Bottom Line: A great vehicle if you can find one with low miles. Should last for many years. Great driving experience for a Front Wheel Drive.
I own a GS-R sedan, but I think it fits in this category just fine. I'm the second owner. It currently has 84k miles on it (today is 30-Apr-2004). I bought it on Feb of 2000 when it had 34k miles. The clutch needed to be replaced at 70k (cost $600 to ...

will LAST.
Gotta love this car... because it's MY car!
I picked up a green '96 GSR coupe two years ago, and I must say that I have little to no complaints. It's a sweet ride -- great on the gas mileage, has a nice sporty look to it, and hauls booty on...

Pros: Reliable, good acceleration, sporty Cons: Low to the ground for some people
I purchased my Acura after much research on the World Wide Web and in car magazines. The car had rave reviews wherever I looked. The way I became sold on the Integra is when I took it for a test drive. It is comfortable to ride in and it sticks to the...

Very good but perhaps overrated

Pros: Fun to drive, nimble, high RPM limit is very fine! Cons: Rattling exhaust, timing belt broke 75k, rear seats access, uncomfortable read seats, limited head room.
I have had my GSR for 3 years and it has been a good car - although I would not report quite the glowing reviews I have seen of it in many places. The upside: very nimble handling turbo-like acceleration 5k-7.5k 28-30mpg year round = FUN!! The downside:
exhaust rattle at 3.2-3.5k rpm (about 60-62 in 5th; a common highway speed) - have had it in 5 times on this problem - including a dealer - and still have the problem over a year later (it drives me nuts and sounds like I am driving a junker),
timing belt broke at 75k but VERY fortunately (and, according to many mechanics, unusually) no valves were damages (so it cost me $700 instead of $3,000 or more for a rebuilt engine).
Just putting things I carry to and from work every day is a hassle because access to the backseat is so tight.
Headroom is so limited that I can't wear a hat (and I am only 5'9").

Pros: Sweet engine, good handling, stone-axe reliable. Cons: The scheduled maintenance is expensive if you don't have the time to do it yourself.
Now, in February of 2004, the car has over 150K miles and it still runs perfectly. The interior has fewer rattles now than some brand new cars I've had the displeasure of driving.
There is now a rattle in the header at ~3700 RPM due to the inner header wall coming loose (this is common on Preludes as well), but this is a non-issue. In normal operation, the engine lives at 4K or above anyhow, and I can't be bothered to fix this.
The clutch, water pump, and timing chain (or belt) were changed at 90K. Shocks soon thereafter. These are expected consumables, like brake pads. Of the non-consumables, not a single thing has broken in all this time.
Oil changed at 7-10K miles; I use Castrol GTX (dino juice) mainly and Mobil 1 (synthetic) sometimes.
