Pros: Heavy, safe, and I will trust her hauling my new grandchild. Cons: Don't let a moron drive her. The Bottom Line: For what Crystal paid for this car, she could not have made a better choice.
I know Lola is mentioned in Barry Manilow's song Copacabana, but Lola is also my future daughter-in-law's car. And I have to say for a girl her age I was a little shocked that she owns a car like this. Granted Lola is purple, but she is a 4-door 1997 ...

Pros: Good domestic value, easy to maintain, abundant parts, highway cruising Cons: Sluggish accelaration, gains lots of speed at going down hills, extra braking needed. The Bottom Line: Buying American has its perks too.
The 1995 Galant I have driven for the last three years died on me this past January, Due to its oil burning and slow decline in compression over time not to mention its 211K on the clock, I sent her to her final resting place and I ...

Pros: Quality, comfort, mileage, handling Cons: Tires from factory could be better for this model year The Bottom Line: Great car for the money. It was relatively cheap compared to some imports I looked at and owned. And the quality was right up there with the best of them.
Let me start by explaining how I ended up with my Ford Taurus. It was June, 1998, and I was the owner of a 1995 Honda Civic, which I owned for only 9 months. That was the shortest time Ive ever owned a new car. The seating in it was very rigid, and ...

Pros: good power, excellent handling for size, reasonably comfortable and fairly inexpensive Cons: fit & finish not up to the likes of ES300, SolaraSE, BMW and others The Bottom Line: For the price I paid, I could have gotten more performance, more luxury, more room or better looks.....but not the balance of everything that this car has.
**UPDATE**
we've now put over 3000 miles on the car and have a few updates and corrections to make;
Handling
The 'boatish' straightline handling and aggressive cornering manners wasn't a fluke, anomaly or caused by a long...

In previous years I always thought of the Taurus as my Grandfather's first choice, but since the revamp of few years ago...my whole opinion has changed.
Over the past twelve years I have always driven T-Bird's, but in 1997 the T-Bird was put...

Yes we did buy this car knowing that it had 23,000 miles on it from being used as a Hertz rental car, and considering that fact it has held up very well.

Pros: Comfortable, responsive, good mileage and stylish Cons: Problems with Transmission The Bottom Line: This is a solid, affordable car which delivers excellent performance for a good price.
My very first car was a 1956 Ford Fairlane with a Fordomatic transmission. It was a dream car for the oil industry as I put at least one quart of oil in the car each day. It shook, rattled and rolled appropo to the 50's and the engine finally blew up...

Pros: comfortable, quiet, and quick Cons: Electrical mechanics dream
In early 1998 I purchased a 1997 Ford Taurus SHO program car from my local dealer. The car had been purchased and used by Ford as a "Junior Executive" automobile, whatever that means. The vehicle itself was in great shape with only 15K miles...

Pros: Comfortable, good safety record Cons: Mechanical problems, repair costs
I made a big mistake and bought a 1997 Ford Taurus SE. I used to work at a large Ford dealership and thought I still had lots of friends at the dealership, so I went there to buy my car. When I bought the car it had 28,000km on it, I thought the price...

About 9 months ago, I purchased a 1997 Ford Taurus. This car looked as good as it did new. It is very clean, inside and out. I could tell that it had been taken very good care of.
The main reason I was looking at a Taurus is because of all the good...

Pros: Its a dependable car and comfortable on the inside Cons: Very Common
I had leased a Ford Taurus for 3 years, and although not too flashy or great in any one area, it is a pretty nice set of wheels. Its dependable, runs smooth and with no problems at all in my experience. Once the automatic locked doors weren't functioning...

Pros: Reliability, used ones are cheap, roomy, economical Cons: Interior quirks, needs more ponies.
My wife and I were looking for a good used mini-van or truck of some sort (no kids, just needed room to haul "stuff"). I noticed how low the resale value on the 96-99 Taurus was and found a used wagon for cheap $$, about 4K less than a minivan...
