Pros: Style, Comfort, Power, Reliable, depreciation makes it cheap to buy. Cons: Expensive replacement struts, torque steer, cheap interior plastics, premium fuel required. The Bottom Line: Great classic American car. If you want a stylish 2-door coupe, the way it used to be, the Eldorado is it.
I bought my Eldorado ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) with 58K on the odometer. The car was very well cared for and looked new. Even the leather interior was flawless. When I brought it home, for the first time, my wife wondered how we could afford a ...

I have owned my Eldorado for two years and I can tell you it is a SPOILER!! I bought the car because I had always wanted a superior

Pros: Luxury with incredible performance. Cons: Noisy car at highway speeds.
Gorgeous exterior and interior with every bell & whistle imaginable led me
to buy a used 1998 Eldorado Base Coupe recently. The Bose sound system is
incredible. The ride comfort is exceptional with a very plush interior.
The base model...

Pros: It is a joy to ride in and own. Cons: Costs of repairs.
One of the most comfortable luxury cars on the road and it is American made to boot. Considering the engine size it delivers great gas mileage on trips. I have gotten about 30+ MPH on highways and 24 MPH around town. Roomy and beautifully appointed...

1998 Cadillac Eldorado Reliability

Pros: Ran good, good gas mileage, Cons: Electrical problems, electrical problems. EXPENSIVE to REPAIR
Now I know why GM is in trouble and the Toyota's,Nissan's etc. are gaining market share.
I bought a 1998 Eldorado, used with 33,000 miles. The car now has 61,000 and its reliability is horrible.
First, the Traction Control light came on and would not go off at all. Never affected the handling, didnt notice any noise, etc. Took it back to the dealer and $385.00 later to replace a senser.
Second, the electric seats stopped working, the passenger side window would go down. However, you had to wait an hour to get it to go back up.They said it was a bad motor.
Third, the dash lights would go on and off whenever they felt like it. Never did get that fixed after repeated trips to the dealer I gave up.
Fourth, the cruise control stopped working..luckily, the dealer fixed under a recall.
Last, the drivers side tail light and front drivers side parking lights went out..a cool $ 1,000.00 to repalce a bunch of wires that were all melted under the rear seat.
To GM and the people who built this piece of crap. I bought a Lexus..I wont ever be coming back

Pros: great road car, I LOVE IT. Cons: premium fuel & cheaply made interior
I purchase a '98 std coupe with a cd player & moon roof with 56,000 miles, for 10,000.00
The car as runs great, now has 71,000 miles on it.
My oil consumption varies, usually every 1,500 miles for a quart, I keep 2 in the trunk.
A slight tear on the arm rest, you are right the interior could be better.
No mechanical problems except tune up and 0'2 sensors.
Your are right IT MUST BE DRIVEN. I have on the highway at least 3 tines a week, tromping on it. What's the best way to check the oil? I tend to over fill.

Great 2-door luxury car

Pros: Fairly quiet. Heated seats! Great looking car. Cons: Sound system isn't what you'd expect from Bose.
This is a great 2-door car, especially for the price of a used one. The car feels like it's riding on air and the leather seats cradle your body. The large doors means large windows, which is really nice. Getting one with a sun-roof is a must! Overall, just a great luxury car without paying an arm-and-a-leg, and I guarantee the car will get noticed.
