Pros: Compact Size
Cons: Fuel Economy

I recently wrote a review of my husband's work vehicle a Dodge Intrepid. I liked the car because it was roomy and had a lot of power. My husband got a new vehicle for work and had to turn in the Intrepid. His new work vehicle is a Chevrolet 1999...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth Ride, Decently Fast, Impressive Stereo System, Solid, Running Lights, Huge Trunk.
Cons: Cup Holders, Plain Interior Layout, Gas Mileage, Cramped Inside, No Trunk Release, Brakes, Battery Inaccessible.
The Bottom Line: The Chevy Lumina holds my rating as quite a decent vehicle but still not a favorite due to some minor issues and complaints.

After being started on a 1991 Mercury Sable GS I was then spoiled with a 1999 Chevy Lumina, sadly minus the LS. As much as I hate to say it, I rather be driving my old vehicle even though the Lumina is quite classly and respectable. On The Road ...

Pros: Reliable, roomy and comfortable. Did I mention RELIABLE?

I bought my 1999 3.1L Lumina used from a close friend with 110,000Km on it and put another 40,000Km with only minor problems. This car is roomy and comfortable. It seats six adults and has plenty of leg room in the front and back. Front seat is wide ...

Pros: Nice, quiet ride
Cons: back end feels loose, and feels like it could tip over

O.k. I'm back from yet another long trip. This time, I spent more time a car than usual. I was given a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina. I had to drive about three hours to my training, and then about 20 miles per day while I was at my training (to and from the...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Roomy, Head room, Value, Trunk space, Very dependable.
Cons: Not too many buttons, Kinda plain interior
The Bottom Line: The Lumina is for anyone who is tall, need a lot of head/leg room, has a family, or is looking for a car for work or long road trips.

I purchased the 1999 Chevy Lumine in May of 1999. It was pretty much the only car I could fit in in it's price range($18,000-$22,000), and I didn't want to spend more that $22,000 for a car. Plus, I didn't want a Truck/SUV.

So, I went to test...

Pros: a reliable, comfortable, and attractive family car
Cons: plastic clips that hold visors in place come out easily

We decided in a week's time to trade our 1990 GMC Safari Van in because the motor was bad, and the transmission was questionable. As a family of five, we needed a roomy car, yet nothing too bulky. I needed something dependable that required little...

After a disastrous test drive of the Malibu, my husband and I decided to lease a Lumina. A friend had one and we liked it. So we test drove it, and after an ordinary run, decided the price was too good to pass on. We had recently moved to the suburbs...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good family car, yet sporty enough to keep you interested.
Cons: Read opinion.
The Bottom Line: The 1999 Lumina is a good, not great car...all around family car with enough of a sporty feel to keep the parents from getting too bored while driving.

I bought my 1999 Chevy Lumina in May 2000, after a drunk hit and run driver totalled my 1991 Buick Regal. I got the Lumina because it was most similar to my '91 Buick, which I was truly in love with. When I got the Lumina it was in near pristeen...

Cons: a lot are seen around

Last year my husband and I bought a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina. Both my husband and myself as well as my three sons are tall. The Lumina has enough interior space for us to ride in comfortably, which was the reason we choose the vehicle. However now that we...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Gas Mileage about 25mpg.
Cons: Painted steering wheel and janky cup holders.
The Bottom Line: This is a reliable, dependable, affordable car with almost no problems with performance. I would recommend this car to all.

I've owned 3 other cars besides my 1999 Chevrolet Lumina, and it has been by far the best car I've owned. Let me start by saying that I purchased this car used in 2003 with about 55,000 miles from an old man at my church. With that said, I'll start ...

My wife's grandmother bought this 1999 lumina new. She passed away February 2001, and I bought it from my mother-in-law in March 2001. Reminds me of my teenage years when I drove my dad's luxury cars. I'm an insurance agent and usually drive 700 to...

My mother bought a 1999 Chevy Lumina LS in January 1999. She bought it spur-of-the-moment after having trouble with her 1987 Dodge Aries K car. Her Aries broke down in the dead of winter so she went to the local Chevrolet dealer and fell in love. This...

I had the misfortune of having my compact car vandalized. It went into the shop for four days.

Not my First Choice but Affordable

Dec 26 '99

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Affordable
Cons: My cons is more on a personal note. Other than that its a nice car!

We Purchased our 1999 Lumina in June of 1999. This wasn't our first choice but with the lack of down payment we had at the time, we were able to get an affordable monthly note along with a nice looking and riding vehicle. We went from a 1986 Chevrolet...
