Pros: good lucking truck Cons: Everything else! weak engine and crappy manufacturing.
I leased an S-10 in 1999. I have a 2wd, extra-cab (w/third door), automatic trans, and a weak 4cyl. engine. Besides the fairly good deal I got on the lease, I think I made one of the biggest MISTAKES of my life. I had a Toyota Tacoma before this and...

Pros: Handling, Look?, the ability to haul a couch, and body/frame strength... not much else Cons: V4, gas mileage, no tow capabilities, the fact that it's held together with hot glue The Bottom Line: NOT Recommended, in the shop at LEAST twice a month, more rattles than anything i've ever riddin in, and poor reliability.
Update: 4 months later! This has honestly become the truck from all holy hell. I belive the i left you with the last probelem i had as the Check Engine Light acting more like a turn signal than anything else. Problems as of late: Got the oil ...

Pros: great little truck. like 4x4 Cons: third door handle broken 4 times. reclining handle twice
lost heat and radio The Bottom Line: for the price and trouble not worth the buy.
I bought my Chevy s10 zr2 brand new and I had problems right off the bat. While under warranty ALL the weather stripping started to peel off so the Dealership replaced it. The truck comes with a third door with a side handle (must open driver door ...

Pros: Low price great fuel economy Cons: Small cab size small box size not much power The Bottom Line: Make sure the trucks size is what you really need
Leased new in 1999 with 5 spd manual trans 4 cyl engine with Air. Lease price was very cheap and gas mileage was excellent. Had a problem with the transmission shifting in cold weather at 0 degrees F. it was impossible to shift from 1st to second until...

Pros: Sporty, Dependable Cons: Bumpy, Weak Options Package
O.K. I can't honestly say that I am lucky enough to own one of these puppies. I do however know a couple of owners of the 1999 Chevrolet S-10. Being labeled as a passenger I have my duties. Most important is quality assurance. I can't do a...

Pros: Comfortable and good looking Cons: Wimpy Engine and Weak Paint
I purchased a 1999 S-10 with a 4 cylinder engine. Thought this was a good move because I need to be able to carry loads and get good gas mileage at the same time. Turns out the 4 cylinder was a big mistake. It has absolutely no power what so ever....

Pros: Good Ride and handling Cons: fuel mileage and transmission problems
I purchased a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup with automatic transmission, air conditioning, power anti lock brakes and power steering. Just to make sure that I had enough power I purchased the 4.3 v6 engine. This chevrolet truck drives great and handles...

Pros: Good Looks, Sturdy, Reliable, Comfy Cons: slow
The way I ended up with my black '99 S-10 is basically they treated me well at the dealership - that is rare, and I wanted to reward them, as well as show some faith in American craftsmanship. The guy that sold me the truck said he was an implant from a...

Pros: Dependability, Cons: Rear wheel drive
In March of 1999, I leased my first vehicle. A Chevy S-10, base model, no frills, 5-speed. I coach high school baseball, so I needed a truck to haul all the equipment from school to practice site.(our ball field is at our middle school, 5 miles...

Pros: Comfortable seats, sporty look, suprisingly smooth ride for a truck Cons: 4 cylinder a little underpowered. The Bottom Line: I recommend the chevy s-10 to anyone in search of a low maintenance light duty pick up.
I have always wanted a pickup since I was a little kid. Something about the higher ride, and the whole tough car attitude a truck can give off. Now my S-10 is not by any means that tough of a truck with it's 2200 vortec 4-cylinder engine, however as...

Pros: good all around comfortable truck Cons: few problems with shifting
After driving around a clunker junker for a few years, I decided to treat myself to a new car/truck prior to my high school graduation. After looking around at all the dealers, makes, and models, I came across an
S-10 pickup that stood out the...

Pros: no Cons: no
I believe that Chevy S-10 is a good truck for someone that wants just a regular nice pick-up. They aren't too good in the winter though. With rear wheel drive it makes them very easy to wreck. So if you were to get an S-10 I would suggest the 4 wheel...

Pros: great motor Cons: not much leg room
We bought our 1999 S-10 vehicle, because we wanted a new vehicle with a cheap price, with the capability of hauling some small things around. We got a simple s-10, straight shift, and bench seat. It is easy to shift and great on gas. However, there is...

Pros: great sporty appeal Cons: needs more room on the inside
I purchased a 1999 Chevy S-10 XCAB within the last year. So far it has delivered good dependable service. Although it seems to be a little smaller inside that other small pickups I've owned, it is sufficient to meet the needs. This particular S-10 has...

Pros: Price! Price! Price! Cons: Extended cab for extra space only; not for people!
I wasn't really looking to purchase or lease a new vehicle until I drove
past my local Chevy dealer and saw a lineup of about a dozen new S-10
pickups. All were 2 wheel drive, 4 cylinder, 5 speed models, but they
were LS models with...
