Pros: Great speed, great changing capability, abd very stylish. Cons: Kind of a gas guzzler, but ohh well.
Hondas new accords are a great car. Its got a 3liter 210hp V6 powerhouse. This puppy can roast the tires pretty well for an automatic. It has honda's sleek look and comfortable enterior. But the engine is where its at. This puppy can go from 0-60 in...

Pros: Reliable Cons: Too many of it on the road!!
I myself am a proud and happy Honda Accord owner. As I'm not very familiar with mechanical aspects of autos, I turned to the trusty internet for advise. I compared this car through and through and it beat them all in its price range and offerings. Now...

Poor reliability

Pros: Lots of folks think it's a good car, so it should be easy to sell. Cons: I've put this up on the web, so at least you know the truth.
The 1999 Honda Accord EX was my second Honda. My first, a 1990 Civic EX, was a dream: 220,000 miles and not one major repair (other than the air conditioning). I expected similar reliability from my '99. I was disappointed. I've had the rear main seal go out at 80,000 miles, various sensors went kaput, the transmission wore out at about 135,000, and most recently the head developed a crack requiring replacement at about 156,000 miles. I've had enough. I went last weekend a bought a Toyota Camry XLE, the car I should have bought five years ago. The Honda goes up on the block as soon as I get it out of the shop for the head repair. If you want to throw $8,500 away, give me a call and I'll gladly sell it to you (unless you're already a personal friend of mine)...

Pros: Solid feel. Reliability (no problems except AC fan) and ball joints until TRANSMISSION FAILED. Cons: TRANSMISSION, Customer service/recall. Engine lights. No prior warning. STALLED ON HIGHWAY.
TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AT 101K - I didn't know to check transmission fluid and that it should be cherry red. I assume techs and people who changed my fluid checked it but now I learned that this model of Honda should have changed fluid every 12k yet the manual states 90k. By time I changed it at 100k, transmission was black, and I stalled on the highway with no warning. Now it will be a 3k fix. I expected the car to last me till at least 150k and unless it's done right, I'm stuck. I loved LOVED this car until this happened and Honda only extended the warranty from 2000-2002 but it should have lasted me longer. Why buy it otherwise? And I took care of this car, never ran the motor on ice. I got the car at 72k and at 101 - boom. Trouble. I heard the transmissions on Honda are bad through 2004 so beware.

Pros: everything is beautiful! Cons: that clicking noise!
well, i just recently traded in my 97 Camry to get a 1999 Accord ex v6. Its in a perfect condition inside and out and it drives lovely. However, when i steer to the left sometimes i get a clicking noise that the Honda mechanics cant seem to know where its coming from. they say it could be anything from the steering to the rack and pinion. Hopefully its nothing bad because i do worry. if anyone out there is familiar with this, let me know. Otherwise, the car is a dream...

Happy with my Honda

Pros: Reliable, good gas mileage, will probably last much longer than most cars. Cons: Difficult to distinguish mine from the others on the road, minor interior light glitches.
I bought my 99 Accord LX new four years ago, and I am happy to say that it is probably the best choice I could have made. I have only two minor complaints. First, everyone has my car. It has become normal to find others trying to open my trunk at the grocery store, or to find myself wondering why my keyless remote is not unlocking the car doors of a different Honda. My other problem is that I have periodic problems with the interior lights. The backlight on the clock and the lights by the shift sometimes do not turn on. A very minor problem in my opinion, since I usually don't need the clock and the dash lights also say what gear I'm in.
I have watched many of my family members buy cars and have them in the shop on a regular basis. My car has yet to go to the shop for anything other than routine service. I do a lot of driving and have racked up a lot of miles, and it still runs nearly as good as it did on day one.

Pros: Everything about it...comfort, smooth ride, space, reliability, the list goes on and on Cons: None that I know of
My parents bought me a 4-door 1999 Honda Accord for high school graduation when it was a year old. Mine is white with tan leather, woodgrain consoles, CD player, sunroof, alloy wheels, power seats, and power windows. I love this car. It is comfortable. It runs smoothly. It gets great gas mileage. It is so cozy, it fits me just right. When I get a new car, I don't know how I will ever feel at home in it. I have never had any major problems (knock on wood), only a problem with a fuel valve that had carbon deposits on it. This was partly due to purchasing gas that had high levels of carbon in it that caused clogging in my valves. Lesson learned: spend the few extra bucks to go to Chevron or the like! Even with my 4-cylinder, I can give 6-cylinders serious competition! The engine has a lot of power, especially for a 4-cylinder. Spacious with lots of leg room. More comfortable to me than my mom's SUV. Lots of trunk space. I truly LOVE my Honda Accord!
