Pros: Bold, Aggressive styling, Excellent acceleration. Good gas mileage Cons: Tacky honeycomb tail lights. Not as comfortable as the Mustang GT. The Bottom Line: Recommended for any car enthusiast who loves performance without having to sell the farm.
Since the late 1960s, both Ford and General Motors have staged the pony car wars. While Ford usually had the edge when it came to raw power, by 1993 GM's F-body ruled the streets when it came to sheer power. In 1998 the Pontiac Firebird Formula ...

Pros: Explosive power; flamboyant looks; underrated. Cons: Average Pontiac craftsmanship The Bottom Line: Although the Firebird will be terminated by GM by 2002, it offers a very high level of both value and performance. This car screams of potent power. Highly recommended.
The 1999 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am competently doubles as my daily commuter car, but that is definitely not why I bought it. Indeed, this outrageous automobile is, first and foremost, a muscle car. It is a driver's car, meant to be driven fast and hard....

Pros: Super acceleration and braking,Sexy good looks. Cons: A no-go in the snow,no cargo room or back seat to speak of. Insurance is expensive!
The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is certainly an atypical vehicle. In certain respects it's a throwback to the muscle car era of the 60's. With 305 Horsepower and the drive wheels being in the rear it performs like the Hot Rod that your Dad probably drove...

Pros: power, looks, reliability, ASR, 40 cu. ft cargo room! Cons: rough road cornering, handling in snow. The Bottom Line: Best car for the money. Looks great, goes fast, holds up well...no contest.
Overview
Well, nobody likes waiting at these long lights, but you're stuck there anyway so you start looking around to occupy yourself. Then you feel something. What is it...a subwoofer? No, much too steady. A few seconds pass and you...

Just test drove a 1999 WS-6 Trans Am. Wow!!! Everything is great about this engineering marvel. 320 Horsepower and a 6 speed that's good for endless fun. The handling is very well defined especially with the WS-6 package which includes 17"...

I bought a 1999 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk about a year ago. It currently has about 10,000 miles, and I have never had a problem. It is a beautiful, powerful, driving machine.
So what is a Firehawk vs. a Firebird? Let me tell you. A top of...

Pros: I feel safe in this car & feel great about survival chances after a crash. Cons: Fish tailing, hydroplaning & gas mileage
In 1999, upon completing my graduate degree and entering the workforce I decided to get my first vehicle. Previously I had been borrowing older sedans from my family. I reviewed vehicles over the next few months by the following criteria: Affordability,...

Pros: Very Stylish and speedy Cons: Slower than the V-8
I bought a V-6 Firebird Coupe last March, and it has proven to me to be one of the fastest 6 cylinders that I have ever been in. It has a 3800 series II, 3.8 liter, v-6. I bought it because I wanted a fast car that had lower insurance than the V-8. My...

Pros: Power, Looks, Bargain Price Cons: Below average Braking
I originally wanted a Corvette for my dream car, but my leasing agent told me about the Pontiac Firebird with Ram Air. I couldn't be happier with his advice. The Firebird has almost as much horsepower but costs less and has more room. The car gets...

Pros: Power and cornering Cons: Rear seat room and trunk space
The muscle car is still alive. It lives in the Chevrolet Camaro and the Pontiac Firebird. These two cars, GM's F-bodies, still remind me of the days when I owned Pontiac GTOs in the late '60s and early '70s. They are just plain fun to drive, if you like...

Pros: Looks Great Going Down the Road and it is Fun to Drive. Cons: Mine is falling apart. The Bottom Line: I will never own another GM product again! GM has made no effort to correct these problems.
I bought my '99 Firebird Convertible new in December '99 and right away I had a few problems. While still under warranty my rear trunk release motor burnt out and my Monsoon stereo quit working. Things got worse from there. At 42,000 mi ...
