Pros: good for city and country driving Cons: a bit small for taller passangers in the backseat The Bottom Line: This is good if you want a nice small truck for traveling and don't have a big family.
I bought my "baby SUV" in 2001. Since then, the only problem I have had with it is the battery. I had to replace the battery twice since I got it, but i'm guessing that's more the dealership I took it to's fault than the truck. I got it because of ...

Pros: Reliability, fun to drive, nice driving height, functional and relatively versatile. Cons: Slippery/boxy seats, mpg only 22-24 (advertised as car-like but gets truck-like mileage). The Bottom Line: Outstanding small SUV. Reliable, useful, fun to drive, looks good, and performs well. If you wanted more features, you probably didn't look at the car carefully enough before buying.
This vehicle accelerates as could be expected for a 4-cylinder engine. I'm going to put my foot in my mouth and say it: If you want more acceleration, you didn't know what you were buying. No one buys a 4-cylinder engine for acceleration! What I was ...

Pros: fun, looks cool, mpg, it's a Toyota Cons: noisy; cramped rear seating The Bottom Line: It isn't a Camry or Maxima or a Jeep either, but it is a great little suburban-type SUV for those who want that kind of fun, practical, and well-built car.
We have a 1999 RAV4-L which has most of the usual options such as electric windows and locks, cruise, A/C, automatic, AWD, roof rack. It's a great little car, especially as a second family vehicle. Fun to drive around town with decent gas mileage...

Pros: Sporty, fun to drive, easy to handle Cons: Only holds four people. The Bottom Line: If your looking for a not so pricey and "fun size" SUV, this is the one.
When my husband and I decided to get another vehicle, we were determined to get something bigger to accommodate our growing family. So we went in search of an SUV. We knew we couldn't afford the trendy bigger models or the monthly payments that came with...

Pros: room, price, handling, comfort Cons: takes a little longer to settle into 4th gear
I was looking at several of the smaller SUVs, comparing the Honda CRV, the Subaru Forester and the RAV4 for price, reliability, handling and room. My husband and I drive 2200 miles to Montana or Wyoming every other year for 3 weeks and I wanted something...

Pros: Economical and fun to drive Cons: None found yet
Recently my husband and I decided to trade in two of our three cars and get just one car. Since my car was the oldest we decided to trade in my car and the company car we were leasing. I searched on the internet for vehicles I thought I might like and...

Pros: Addictive to drive. Cons: Hard to share.
I bought the RAV because of Toyota's reputation for reliability, but I love it because it's so fun & easy to drive. It zips onto the freeway, it turns bumps into almost nothing, it handles more easily than a toy.
My husband talked me into...

Pros: Very safe, fun to drive, good hauling. Cons: None
My Rav4 saved my life in 1999. I had purchased it more than a week before the accident. It had all but 212 miles on the odometer and I was driving from Cleveland the Traverse City to see my girlfriend for a much needed vacation in April of 1999. One...

Pros: Compact size, easy to maintain Cons: OK sound system
I traded in my Accord for a 4-door '99 RAV4 L over a year ago. It's been a good experience. Car-based SUVs are becoming more popular. The RAV4 was one of the first - it was introduced as a concept car back in 1989.
The RAV4 delivers everything...

Pros: gas mileage, good handling for a SUV, parking Cons: interior space, road noise and fan noise
Bought the '99 Rav4 nearly a year ago, and it has been a great LITTLE car. Seems to hold the road better than the Tracker. I'm a safety nut and after reading the crash test results on the small Hondas, I wouldn't even get in one for a test drive. We...

Pros: Gas mileage, handling, looks Cons: No room for passengers
My family purchased our RAV4 brand new in 1999. We were forced to look for a new car when our old minivan died. My stepfather looked around for a while and fell in love with the RAV4. He really liked the gas mileage, the handling, and the overall...

Pros: Fun to drive, fun to look at, tons of room, controls are easy to read and reach, very reliable Cons: A bit pricey
Ok, first I should probably start out by saying that I am obsessed with the Toyota RAV4. I saw my first RAV in 96' when I was 13 and knew right then and there that it was the car for me. Initially, I was attracted to the RAV4 because of its...

Pros: price , ease of handling, gas milage, reliability Cons: too small for a family
My wife and I purchased our first RAV4 in December of 97. We were looking for a 4 wheel drive vehicle that my wife could use to drive to work. We live in Southern NH and she was concerned about foul weather. The last two vehicles we owned were...

Pros: Fun to drive, less expensive than full size SUV's Cons: Not much space in the back seat
The Toyota Rav4 is a great option for people who want a sport utility vehicle, but don't have the money to buy a full size SUV. I actually would have preferred to have a Toyota 4-Runner, but considering the average price for this vehicle is over $30,000,...

Pros: Handles well for an SUV, will haul a 27" TV with ease Cons: Seats not comfortable for everyone, will not haul a 60" table
The RAV4 is great fun to drive, on-road and off. It's roomier than a hatchback, with good ground-clearance. The small engine is surprisingly powerful. It's off-road performance is reasonable for a car, although it doesn't compete with a Jeep or...
