2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS, Great Automobile!

by ggetek
Sep 12 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliability, braking, steering, acceleration, exterior styling, gas mileage
Cons: Small back seat, small trunk
The Bottom Line: Great reliability, steering and braking, acceleration, gas mileage, comfort (for the front seats anyways), and out of this world styling make this car fun to drive and practical.

The advantages of this car are as follows: The 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS is one of the sportiest looking cars on the road today. Not only is it sporty but it's also practical for everyday driving. The vehicle has a lot of ground clearance, due to the ...

May 19 '02 - Updated Jul 23 '04

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Tourqey engine...handles well...look is unique...
Cons: Paint peels on plastic front fascia/hood...no trunk light...limited room...requires above average maintenance
The Bottom Line: Potentially a fantastic car, could be a dream come true...however, difference between average and awesome cars is in the details, and here, Subaru has missed the mark. Caveat emptor.

Am I satisfied with my Subaru? Yes. Could they have done a better job by paying attention to the little details? Yes. I have owned my Impreza 2.5RS (auto, 4dr) for a little over 4 years, and in that time, I have been very impressed with the ...

2.5 RS Coupe

May 08 '02

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent handling and traction, torque, ergonomics, good balance
Cons: Back seat doesn’t fold down, could use more power, OEM stereo is weak
The Bottom Line: Super all-weather driver's car: not as fast as the WRX nor as expensive as an all-rad Porsche.

This is quite the little car. Its handling if anything beats the (legendary) RX-7 whose space it has taken in my garage, and on slick surfaces the Subaru is simply amazing (best I’ve ever driven). Front seat and driver’s ergonomics are basically perfect,...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: A great car to drive. Sheer power
Cons: Comfort lost for handling
The Bottom Line: Just buy one!

This has to be the definative hottest saloon around.
Think about it. Its basically a wolf in Sheeps clothing.
OK, it may look like an ordinary family car and the only thing that gives its true purpose away is the huge air intake for the turbo...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliable, Fast and Great Looking

The Bottom Line: This car is a dream with room to spare and speed to give.

I have had my Subaru Impreza Outback Sport now for a year. It is a great car. It is sporty looking yet has plenty of room in the interior. I have a friend that is 6 foot 3 inches that drove it, and when I asked him if he felt cramped he said "no."...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: peppy, cornering ability, stylish look, and absolutely fun to drive
Cons: bad cup hold locations, no trunk light, small center console
The Bottom Line: This car is for the single person looking for fun and reliability, not to mention being able to sweep past all other cars in the middle of a snowstorm.

I worked at a ford dealership for over three years, driving just about anything imaginable (other than ford from the used car lot). I had driven a few imports, but wasn't to impressed with the ride or interior space.
I was driving a 92 explorer and...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: AWD, flat-four engine, looks, and the list goes on!
Cons: Cheap interior materials, crapola sound system.
The Bottom Line: Best car in the sub $25K market!

I have been in love with the Impreza for years. In fact, I researched this car for about two years before I actually went out and bought it. I considered many factors and tried to find the "perfect car" under $25k. I came to the conclusion that nothing...

Pros: performance, styling, packaging, price
Cons: not a family car

Have you heard of the europe and japanese-only Subaru Impreza WRX models? You know, the ones with turbos, sport suspensions, and out of this world body kits, and the basis of Subaru's multiple world championship rally cars? Well think of the 2.5RS a...

Pros: small, fast, all-wheel drive, roomy
Cons: tight suspension

I bought a 2000 Subaru Impreza wagon in April of this year. I hadn't intended to buy this car, I wanted a Chrysler PT Cruiser. But once I saw the car and then drove the car, I knew this was the car for me.

First of all, even though it is a...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: smoothest ride ever, zippy and fun, cute (especially with exterior options), excellent safety ratings
Cons: manual shifting a little tricky when going very slow

My first car, the one I learned to drive with, was a full-sized Ford Bronco. My second (college-student) car was a Plymouth Acclaim. The entire time in college, I dreamed of a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport purely on the looks. I loved the boxy, almost...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Styling, handling, interior space
Cons: No turbo ... till next year

I bought the RS25 Impreza about 4 months ago, because of it's great performance, adequate interior, and massive amounts of headroom (I'm 6' 4") and love it.

In the past few months I have put over 10,000 miles on the car, with zero...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Sporty look, yet dependable and safe
Cons: People don't think about sports cars when they think of Subaru

First of all let me say that I wasn't sure about the morality of a person who sells a brand of vehicle writing a review on that brand. But then I considered this little tidbit of information. I also sell other vehicles and I am not writing a review of...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: All Wheel drive, styling, performance
Cons: I can't afford a sedan in each color and a coupe in each color!

I have not bought this vehicle, but i am considering making it my next purchase. I want an Impreza 2.5 RS sedan. This car is beautiful! With a 2.5 L horizontally opposed 4 cyl this car has 165 HP to scoot quite nicely. With Subaru's all wheel drive...
