Pros: Smooth, silken engine. Refined on-road ride. Lexus dependability. Cons: Some silly interior snafus, only adequate cargo space with seats up, excessive body roll on turns.
I know why you're reading this. You want to know about the Lexus RX300 SUV, don't you? Gee, could that be because you're a little confused at the TONS of SUV choices out there? I can commiserate, I assure you. But you know something? The...

Pros: Fine family SUV with posh interior, quiet ride, solid feel, good looks. Cons: Wide turn radius, limited trunk space, fuel hungry full time 4-wheel drive. The Bottom Line: Wide turning radius is inconvienent, prevents rollover tendencies. Small cargo area is compensated by ability to expand by dropping back seats forward. Top example of SUV type transportation.
This is one of the most beautiful SUVs inside or outside to grace the American roads. It seems that most of these vehicles are imported almost fully loaded: Tan color leather interior, electrically retractable moon roof, sophisticated AM/FM stereo with...

Pros: Both top-rated, car-like SUVs Cons: MDX: mediocre braking, no history; RX300: low weight load capacity, less utility The Bottom Line: The RX300 has an outstanding reliability history and is Consumer Report's Recommended Buy in its class. The MDX is a great all-around SUV with more features but no track record.
This review is a result of our five-month search for a new vehicle. We've also investigated the BMW X5 3.0i, Mercedes ML320, Infiniti QX4, GMC Yukon and Volvo S70XC, and for us it's been a tough choice. We highly value safety, utility and versatility,...

Pros: Very comfy interior, nice and quiet ride Cons: Mediocre handling, interior ergonomics a little off, un-Lexus like stereo, off-road performance??? The Bottom Line: Compared with the competition, it can't be beat for ride comfort, and is a good value. If that's all you need, go for it!
I lease a Lexus GS 300, but I normally get an RX 300 for a loaner car. The RX's that they have are the 2001 model, and I thought I would offer my opinions.
First, the overall design. The car is pleasant to look at both on the inside and out....

Pros: Onscreen Navigation, peppy, loaded with luxury Cons: Nav screen is a bit small, very pricey still
Note: This review is for the 2001 Lexus RX 300 4WD w/navigation option.
I recently upgraded from a 1999 Lexus RX 300 to a 2001 Lexus RX 300 4WD Navigation model. It's silver/gray with Black Leather interior. Luxury options include GPS...

Pros: nice looks, quiet, handles well, rides well, decent engine, plenty of features Cons: not a real SUV, lack of functionality, can't handle off-road terrain, price , interior boo-boos The Bottom Line: One of the best mid-size SUV's, but not a true truck.
Lexus RX300
I will rate this vehicle on a scale of 1-10, 1 being appalling and 10 being flawless. I have spent a long time evaluating my uncle's RX, as well as taking a long road trip in it.
Exterior: 8/10

Pros: Luxurious, hardwood, great ride, yum. Cons: Turns like a semi-truck, leg room for tall people sucks. The Bottom Line: Don't buy this, awful turning radius.
OK, I'll try keeping this short since there are numerous other detailed reviews. Having leased this vehicle since 2001, here the major pros and cons that stick out in my mind. PROS This car rocks. The get-up-and-go is awesome. If you need to ...

Pros: Styling, quiet ride, stereo sound, heated seats, HID headlights and great value retention. Cons: Missing; Dual zone climate control, remote hatch opener on keyless entry. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a luxury SUV with high quality, great features, but willing to spend a little more, consider a used RX300
After months of looking and researching SUV's, we bought a 2001 Lexus RX300 with 69,000 miles on it. It is three years old, Vapor Blue with all black leather interior. Options included HID headlights, the premium package with luggage rack. It has ...

Pros: Reliability, stereo, features Cons: Gas mileage, not very special feeling, short on joy to drive. The Bottom Line: If you like trucks this will probably seem very luxurious. If you like cars this will feel like a truck. Plan accordingly.
Maybe im too picky but I was expecting more. I was driving an old Lexus LS400 and had an old Ford Explorer. I decided to simplify and buy one car for all. Well I guess a person needs to decide if they are a truck person or a car person. I think im a ...

Pros: Luxury, Ride, Quality Cons: A Little Pricey The Bottom Line: If you have the means, don't hesitate, buy the car.
Living in New England means having to deal with extreme winter conditions. Because of this, I owned an SUV, a 1995 Honda Passport, which I used all winter long, it was great in the snow. It was also great on vacations with it's large cargo area. However,...

Pros: Sturdy, smooth, quiet Cons: None
The Lexus RX 300 is a sound investment that will comfort and protect your family. The first thing that you notice when you enter the vehicle is the roominess of it. Kids have ample room in the back seat (especially because there is no transmission hump...

Pros: Although I was becoming seriously irritated, the two folks I dealt with handled everything professionally. Cons: For getting me irritated in the first place by declining twice to extend goodwill. The Bottom Line: The dealer assistant service manager and the Lexus Customer Satisfaction rep maintained Lexus' high customer satisfaction rating in my book. I recommend the Stevens Creek Lexus' service department.
While we do own the 2001 RX300, this review is more about Lexus and the dealer's service department. In 2001 when my dad (who is getting on in age) wanted a new car, I offered to pay for it once he decided which car he wanted. Being of first ...

Pros: Ownership of a quality luxury SUV, 4 year roadside assistance Cons: I haven't found any problems with this vehicle in almost 5 months of ownership. The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for safety, value, and luxury.
At the tender of age of 24, I have the privilige of owning one, if not the most high quality SUV on the road. The Lexus name, high standards of dealership courtesy and service, safety, a comfortable riding vehicle are just a few of the reasons that I...

Pros: Styling is timeless, center console is ultra-practical, powerful V6 Cons: Feels like a minivan at times, turning radius is a little to limited.
We bought this truck because we have long commutes to work and wanted something comfortable that was safe and quiet. Boy does this SUV deliver! We have 2 large dogs that fit in the back just fine even with the seats up. One thing we found out when we drove it home was that the back seats actually RECLINE! You won't find that in too many SUV's. We bought it with 50k miles but it looks, smells, and drives new. I recommend this SUV to anyone who wants to sit high in this smooth, sedan-like ride.
