Pros: AWD, all-weather package, ride, five-speed manual, looks, versatility. Cons: Minor issues. The Bottom Line: If the all wheel drive doesn't impress you already, most everything else will.
For the past two years, my mother has worked 12-hour shifts and has saved $10,000 for my graduation present--a car. Because of that, I cannot write this review without expressing how much I deeply appreciate how hard she worked. Recently I drove two ...

Pros: Powerful, quiet, steady on the road, safe Cons: Classic Subaru styling and average qualities The Bottom Line: Extremely dependable, comfortable car. Probably the best Outback produced. A very good choice as a used car.
The L.L.Bean Outback is Subaru's first entry into what it perceives to be a "luxury" class of car. By Subaru's standards, they did a great job. BMW, Mercedes and Lexus may beg to differ. I am on my 4th Subaru, and they have gotten significantly better ...

Pros: My version is loaded, well built, comfortable, peppy, great sound system. Cons: Suspension a little mushy with 4 big adult passengers. The Bottom Line: Sick of your old overpriced unreliable Autobahn cruiser? Subaru Limited Outback Wagon is just the thing for practicality, comfort, and rugged build.
I'm a disgruntled former owner of an Audi 100 Wagon which I've written up in another EP review. I loved my Audi but hated the unreliability and costly repairs. When my Audi became too costly to repair I looked around for something to replace it that...

Pros: Superb Engineering Cons: Bad interior / external design The Bottom Line: Buy for the mechanicals, not the design.
I recently purchased my first Subaru - the LL Bean Edition. Previously I would not even consider a class of cars so notoriously underpowered.
I was amazed at the mechanical systems of this car. It is the smoothest riding, yet best handling...

Pros: It is a wonderful mix of Luxury and Performance with All Wheel Drive Cons: It does cost $30,000 and it is a Station Wagon.
Hi
I just got back from a very exciting drive with the all new Subaru Outback six cylinder, this was with the surprisingly smooth all new L.L.Bean H6-3.0 model. At this time the H6-3.0 VDC, the one with the traction control and 11 speaker 200...

Pros: Smooth ride, great Sound! Mostly a very nice, fun, comfortable station wagon. Cons: Can't replace your SUV completely, & I had an alignment problem The Bottom Line: This is a great family car, nice and roomy for trips, more pros than cons! Good for country driving, not recommended for extensive off-road stuff.
(Update: After over 5 years, I still love this car. It has been very dependable for its 150,000 miles so far. I've been smelling the clutch a little lately, but that's probably because somebody in our family doesn't treat the clutch properly...) ...

Pros: Attractive styling, practical. Subaru history of a quality vehicle Cons: cost The Bottom Line: Great car but the price will make me wait for the end of the model year for the buyer incentives.
My wife and recently test drove a few different models of the outback, from the base 4 cylinder to the loaded LL. Bean.
My wife fell in love. We both liked the styling and the features of this mini-S.U.V. She really likes the exterior size.

Pros: High quality, reliable, new powerful 6 cyl. engine, sporty styling Cons: Minor inconveniences, nothing major The Bottom Line: Overall, the L.L. Bean Outback is a solid, reliable, luxurious and comfortable vehicle.
I finally settled on the Outback after agonizing over what to replace my Mazda B4000 4x4 with. I wanted something for my wife to drive on snowy days in the winter (i.e. 4 wheel drive), with usable hauling capacity for the occasional trip to the...

Pros: Solid construction, reliability, superior traction in snow. Cons: A little underpowered, utilitarian but not inspirational. The Bottom Line: Subaru has put together a great wagon that will hold up to the worst winter weather!
Who can doubt that Subaru arguably has the best all-wheel drive system in the business? They've been making them for years and visit any mountain town in New England or Colorado and see what the locals drive! In these harsh extreme climates, what is the ...

Pros: Plush interior. Great sound system. Cargo mat terrific for a wet dog or dirty equipment. Cons: Small interior makes comfort hard to attain on longer trips. The Bottom Line: Great little car overall, but not the Mommy-mobile that I'd hoped would get me through the next few years. Too tiny for that.
I am sorry to admit it, but the Outback is not big enough for me! We purchased this new in 2001 to replace my fabulous 1993 Honda Accord wagon. I have a small horticultural business, and now a 7 month old child, and there is just not enough room in this ...

The first Subaru I owned was a 1980 GL wagon. I've been snowboarding and skiing for over 20 years, and I wanted a vehicle with good performance in the snow. In these past two decades I've been overwhelmingly pleased with the reliability and longevity ...

Pros: Smooth, has lots of features Cons: Expensive, Small inside, too SVU like The Bottom Line: If you like SUV's, but want a wagon, if you are small in size, and love to pay for all those luxary features, get this car. Otherwise DOWNGRADE !!!.
We just got a Subaru Outback Wagon VDC. The main reason for getting this car was for the VDC feature; those other luxuries are nice, but not necessary for me. This car is a wagon, but it is a lot like an SUV, just stretched out. The car seem big,...
