Pros: Very Comfortable & Luxurious Car for a Steal of a Price Cons: Poor Reliability and High Maintenance Costs, Underpowered and Poor Throttle Response The Bottom Line: I absolutely recommend this vehicle, but with the caveat that you must have a warranty to accompany your ownership experience.
I decided to buy a 2002 Mercedes-Benz C240 used in August of 2004. The car seemed to present compelling value . . . it had less than 30,000 miles on it, was in excellent condition, and I was able to purchase it for $19,900. It seemed great for me to ...

Pros: A small to mid-sized wagon with ooomph; a refreshing alternative to the SUV craze. Cons: UPDATE: very poor reliability CONTINUES THRU 2004 The Bottom Line: Elegant & sporty & different in appearance; but, fails significantly to deliver reliability and service that should be expected.
PLEASE NOTE UPDATE BELOW - SIGNIFICANT CHANGE OF OPINION SECOND UPDATE ADDED - JANUARY 2004 - : Among the cars/SUV's that we investigated prior to settling upon the C 320 Sport Wagon: Jeep Grand Cherokee Jeep Liberty Land Rover Discovery Acura ...

Pros: Hatchback design; good value; enough power; euro suspension; safety features everywhere. Cons: No rear wiper; some very expensive options (especially CD player); dealers asking above MSRP. The Bottom Line: Will it live up to my old, beloved VW Scirocco? I think so.
Performance-oriented hatchbacks are a pretty obscure product niche. Their buyers pretty much know if they are or are not the right time of customer, so you're pretty much either "in" or "out" on the basic design concept before we even talk about...

Pros: A Benz for under $30k. Cons: Costly options. The Bottom Line: Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, C Coupe. The only non-convertible RWD cars available under $30k. Only one of these is a Mercedes Benz.
In an attempt to lure more young buyers to their mark, M-B offers the 2002 C 230 Coupe. Starting at just under $26k, the new MB can be found on the lots at stickers well under $29k. I took a quick test drive as soon as one hit the showroom.

Pros: Solid construction, leather and wood interior, generous warranty, service. Cons: Purchase price, repair cost, fewer service options than domestic iron. The Bottom Line: Built like a tank, will probably last forever.
This is the first part of a two part opinion; I've decided to purchase a Mercedes C-240, but the information here so far only reflects my test drive and what I learned while in the showroom. Still, I discovered things that were news to me, and...

Pros: Like a tank. Cons: Needs maintenance like a tank. The Bottom Line: Like a hot girlfriend with serious issues. I would advise my friends to avoid it, but somehow I keep coming back.
I have a G55. IMHO, this is the best looking SUV on the market. The G-class from Mercedes, together probably with the landcruiser and some of the range rovers, can be distinguished from the other SUVs on the market in that this was a car designed to ...

Pros: Quiet, comfortable ride, sportiness, hatchback is huge and great for hauling large loads, appearance. Cons: Repairs are too frequent and expensive, side mirrors are too small, rear visibility isn't good. The Bottom Line: It really depends on your priorities. I highly recommend it if you want a nice-looking, nice-driving, near-lux sports car with cargo capacity, and have a good mechanic.
My fiance bought her C230 Coupe brand new at the end of the model year, and I've spent many hours in it with her. On the positive side: 1) Very nice-looking car. 2) Ride is smooth and quiet. 3) Engine is very powerful when the blower kicks in ...

Pros: Interior styling, great coffee in the waiting room of my dealership Cons: Reliability, rattles, dealership service people aren't properly trained The Bottom Line: Avoid. The problems aren't worth what you might consider prestige of driving the Mercedes. Looks at Lexus or Infiniti or Acura instead.
Executive Summary Biggest disappointment in the 20 years I have ever owned a car. It's a nice looking vehicle but reliability issues will keep you grounded. I don't write too many of these reviews but wanted to post a warning to anyone considering the ...

Pros: Powerful engine, strong brakes, nav system, rain-sensing wipers, comfortable interior. Cons: Stereo controls on the steering wheel are missing, inconvenient placing of the volume control knob. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a used luxury car, the ML500 will give you more for your money than the X5.
My father was looking to buy a used (2002 - 2003) luxury SUV. Our choices were BMW X5 or ML 500. Although the X5 vs. ML500 is a comparison done by many reviewers, there is one very imprtant aspect missing. They all compare the ML500 to the X5 4.4i. ...

Pros: Stylish, gadgets, quality, value, lifetime roadside assistance. Cons: CD not stock & changer hogs glovebox, a little under-powered, no 12v accessory plugs The Bottom Line: I was a Volvo driver but got quickly turned off a new one after driving the S60. The C240 was less expensive and MUCH nicer inside.
I never though I would own a Mercedes- I always though they were big, expensive sedans for old people, but I am incredibly happy with my C240 sedan. The C240 is A LOT of car for the money. The onboard computer is amazing. Based on your unique key,...

Pros: Classy look of more expensive Mercedes and great driving comfort. Cons: Overpriced options, weak sound system and tight rear seating. The Bottom Line: Can not remember driving a Mercedes I did not like and this holds true for the C-class. A pleasure to drive within the city limits or on the road.
Mercedes C-Class, 2002
When C-Class = A-Class.
The new Mercedes C-Class has distanced itself from all competition and they have done it with a lot of room to spare.
The only place where any competitor may have a chance...

Pros: performance, ride, exclusivity, practicality Cons: gas mileage, expensive to fix, trying to find one! The Bottom Line: If you want the best of everything, this is your car. Performance, cache', luxury, exclusivity and practicality all in one package.
This is a review of the 2002 E55 AMG sedan. Although it shares the same basic structure as the standard E class, it is a totally different car. The performance is worlds apart from standard Mercedes sedans, and is really more into supercar territory. ...

Pros: Its a benz... Cons: Fat looking and jacked up "behind", generic styling, pricey. The Bottom Line: Spend 3000-5000 more and get a BMW 330 or a Lexus IS 300. Don't waste your time on this.
Well, I test drove one of these bad boys recently at the local Benz dealership. By the way, if you've never been at a Benz dealership, check it out, its fabulous. Anyways the sales agents were very nice, not pushy at all. I sat down in a silver C-230...

Pros: Acceleration, Comfort, Engineering Cons: Not as luxurious as one would expect from a Mercedes. The Bottom Line: A value-packed entry level Mercedes that is incredibly fun to drive yet won't break the bank.
I own the 2003 model. I have been driving the C230 for eight months now and it is definitely one of the most fun cars to drive. It is equipped with Auto, leather seating, CD changer, xenon headlights, dual sunroofs and heated seats. The 2002 model...

Pros: Mercedes class, car-like handling Cons: Reliability, fit The Bottom Line: In general, if you don't care for reliability, then this car is definitely recommended. However, if you do care, then don't get this "can."
This is the second ML that my parents have bought, the first being a 98 ML 320. According to the dealer, there were over 1000 improvements to the car/truck. Some are clearly visible, as generally finish has improved with minor details such as rear...
