Pros: Exterior styling, room, power with the six Cons: Interior styling incoherent, economy car driving feel, four not responsive, dealer arrogance The Bottom Line: Good if you want a better looking Camry. If you want a car that feels good when driven aggressively, keep looking. Great specs aren't enough.
Many of the cars I test drive I dont see myself potentially owning. Theyre either too expensive, or not my type of vehicle. The totally redesigned 2002 Altima is an exception. Since I first learned of this car a few months ago, Ive been ...

Pros: Good performance even with the 4-cylinder, Refined 4-speed automatic. Cons: Price gets high with options, ABS is not standard. Blase interior. The Bottom Line: With so many improvements over an already good car, the 3d generation Nissan Altima is recommended for anyone.
During its introduction in 1992 as a '93 model, Nissan boasted all sorts of things about the 'new' Altima. Some advertisements had the audacity to claim that the 1993 Altima looked like a Jaguar. Don't ask me what Jaguar looks like a Nissan ...

Pros: Plenty of grunt, lots of interior space, great ride/handling, impressive feature content. Cons: Vague manual shifter, mini-van steering. Introductory year means quality kinks and dealer mark-ups. The Bottom Line: Bottom line? You'd be hard-pressed to find another car with such power, feature-content, and quality for this price. I don't say that sort of thing too often.
The folks at Nissan must really be in the business of shooting themselves in the foot. Why do I say that? Surely not because they are starting to manufacture cars that are worth buying: Nissan vehicles across the board have received more power,...

Pros: Comfortable and Reliable Cons: a few minor design flaws The Bottom Line: Despite a few minor design flaws, the 2002 Altima is a great value. It's comfortable, safe and fun to drive, and it looks great!
Let me start by saying that Im not a car person. I view driving as a necessary evil, and a car is just the thing that I sit in while I am forced to drive. When its time for me to buy a car I figure out my price range, look in...

Pros: Superb performance for a car in its class. Cons: Shoddy quality in some areas; obvious cost cutting. The Bottom Line: If it fits your bottom line, it's a match.
INTRO A commercial for the Nissan Altima rhetorically asks, What if your taillights could stop traffic? There is no doubt that the lineament of the 2003 Altima is sufficient to turn heads, and hopefully the extra large tail lights will ...

Pros: Power, styling, roomy, fuel consumption, good ride and handling, features Cons: Poor visibility, small mirrors, "touchy" brakes The Bottom Line: The new Altima is a stylish and roomy car. And you can get a good deal if you go to a dealership, even though it costs above MSRP online
The new 200 Nissan Altima is totally different from the small last-year model. I test-drove the base model – 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5 S and liked the car, but not the price.
Pricing
Although you would have to pay above...

Pros: Long list of standard features, exterior styling, powerful but reasonably frugal 4-cylinder engine Cons: Interior finish, quality of materials, questionable seat comfort The Bottom Line: Would-be Camry owners who arent ready to sell the house and move to Boca should consider this vehicle. Standard features blow the Camry away.
I bought the 2.5S w/floor mats, in-cabin microfilter, mudguards, and the auto-dimming mirror with outside temperature and compass (important to have). I was annoyed because I did not want any of these extra items, but Nissan has set it up so that they...

Pros: Good power, economy, handling, very roomy, great looking, very good standard stereo. Cons: Cheesy interior, over-boosted steering and brakes, front end must be disassembled to change headlight bulb. The Bottom Line: Subpar build quality relative to a Honda. Good looks, handling, and acceleration. Good option packages. Headlight assembly, bumper, grill, and fender liners must be removed to change bulbs.
I had a 120 mile daily commute, and thus put a lot of miles on a car. I traded a '98 Accord V6 automatic for a 2.5S Altima 5 speed for the new sexy look, economy, and extra room (I'm 6'5"), and, well, I missed the fun of shifting. I ordered the ...

Pros: Cutting edge styling and safety features, roomy, excellent handling and brakes, superior fit and finish. Cons: Accessory packages boost purchase price to near top of class The Bottom Line: The Altima boasts sports-sedan styling, ample room, excellent handling, brakes and a powerful 2.5L engine. The V6 version is a screamer. Exciting alternative to the Accord and Camry.
The 2002 Nissan Altima offers excellent handling, powerful brakes, the latest safety features, lots of room and a choice between a powerful yet economical 175 horsepower 2.5 liter DOHC four cylinder power plant or a muscular DOHC 3.5 liter, 240...

Pros: Engine matched well to car, nice styling, good interior Cons: Somewhat noisy, a little cramped The Bottom Line: If you're shopping for a midsize sedan, be sure to put the Altima on your list.
2002 has seen a lot of changes in the auto industry. One of them is the rediscovery of the sportscar, thanks to the new Nissan 350Z. Also from Nissan is a new family sedan set to take on the likes of the top-selling Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. It's...

Pros: Standard features are plentiful, nice styling, great performance. Cons: Interior fit and finish, light-feeling doors and trunk. The Bottom Line: Great vehicle, it will be interesting to see Honda's counter to the Altima - whatever it is, you can bet that the price will be higher.
After driving family vehicles for the past decade and a half ranging from a 1984 Olds Custom Cruiser Wagon (Hey buddy, is that a boat or a tank?) to a couple of mini-vans (1997 and 2000 Grand Caravans - OK for carting people and gear, but don't...

Pros: Great Power, available stick shift, great looking
,great value Cons: Vague shifter
,some cheap plastic interior parts
The Bottom Line: Dollar for dollar the most attractive 4 door sedan on the market. Will haul the kids to soccer practice, and will haul butt at every stop light.
Upon first reading about the 2002 Altima I have to say I was mightily impressed.
Here's some basic specs:
-240hp/246lb tq
-3.5L DOHC V6 (VQ series)
-5 speed manual transmission
-Leather/Sport package
-ABS/Side...

Pros: Good looks, good power, decent handling Cons: Overrated in reviews, high price with options, hard ride, Nissan shortcuts The Bottom Line: 2002 SE 3.5 is under-refined, over-priced and overrated at 30k list, optioned out. However, it has held up well to my agressive driving style over nearly 5 years.
Review of my 2002 Nissan Altima SE 3.5, black on black. I brought this car new Feb 28, 2002 with 256 miles on it. I had originally wanted a Maxima to replace my 1998 SE model which was going off of lease and had to be replaced. But as it was near the ...

Pros: Powerful, handles like a sports car, roomy, stylish Cons: cheap plastics in interior The Bottom Line: All around excellent car and don't forget that it's 2002 N. American Car of the Year.
I got this car about two weeks ago. I have the 2.5s with just the floor mats, in-cabin micronfilters, and splash guards. You would be hard pressed to find 2.5s altimas without those options. I paid $18,400. Looking back, I'm sure I would have been able...

Pros: Strong Engine(s), Upscaled, larger, roomier, smooth ride, little NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) Cons: Heavy, may be TOO big, hard to manuver, turing ratio too large, some clutch slippage The Bottom Line: I had high expectations with this car, and it shattered alot of it.
Excited about the new 2002 Nissan Altima? I know I was. Being a huge Nissan fan, I was actually waiting for the coveted Sentra SE-R and the SE-R Spec V. But this is good too. The most amazing thing about the car is the larger size, a new design, and...
